Absolute Intense Wrestling

Founded in 2005, Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) has grown into one of the premier independent professional wrestling promotions in the United States. Based in the Cleveland area, AIW has spent more than two decades building a reputation for hard-hitting action, innovative storytelling, and a passionate fan base that has helped make the promotion a cornerstone of Ohio independent wrestling.

Since its inception, AIW has promoted hundreds of live events throughout Ohio and the Midwest while providing a platform for many of the most recognizable names in modern independent wrestling. Over the years, AIW events have featured future stars who would go on to achieve success in WWE, AEW, TNA, and other major organizations, helping establish the promotion as an important proving ground for emerging talent.

Under the leadership of founder John Thorne and the late Chris “Chandler Biggins” Bryan, AIW developed a unique identity that blends athletic competition, compelling characters, and a strong connection with its fan community. Signature events such as the JT Lightning Invitational Tournament and Gauntlet for the Gold have become fixtures on the independent wrestling calendar and attract competitors from across the wrestling world.
