This past Saturday the stars of the World Wrestling Coalition participated in the first ever Aberdeen Riverfest with its 2009 Tri-State Rumble! The fans were treated to a jam-packed show that featured the marriage of WWC’s Sound Girl Extraordinaire Sara Blanton and WWC Ring Announcer V.L. Stricklett. Here is a look at what went down!

The team of “Shooting Star” Matt Taylor, Eclipso and Lil Hulk Jake Ashworth defeated the team of Eddie Gonzales, Chad Cruise and Terry Raines in exciting six man tag action!

Cody Hawk with the aid of his manager Natasha Starr defeated Devlin Anderson in the first every one on one match up between the two.

In what may be the strangest wedding ceremony ever witnessed, WWC Ring Announcer V.L. Stricklett wed WWC Sound Master Sara Blanton. The wedding saw several interruptions…including “American Idol” Dirk Extreme taking the mic to serenade the stunned couple, ring-bearer Violet Bob “losing” the rings, and finally all four officiants fighting over who would get to pronounce them man and wife. In the end, order was restored by the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen, and “Superstar” Shawn Parks finished the ceremony.

As the happy couple were leaving the ring, they were interrupted by “Dangerous” Damien Kass. Kass ran his mouth and threatened to attack the bride before being stopped by Parks.

This led to the “Match Made in Hell” as “Superstar” Shawn Parks nearly won the North American title if it weren’t for the ringside lumberjacks brawling giving champion Dangerous Damien Kass a chance to pull off a pinfall out of nowhere. After the match Parks challenged Kass one last time at RIP on October 24, 2009 in a Casket Match for the title.

And in the main event, Lil Hulk Jake Ashworth outlasted Devlin Anderson, Jimmy “Pretty Boy” Malloy, Eclipso, Jack Reno, Danny Wild, Ultra Mega Masked Homicide, Jake Omen, Dangerous Damien Kass, Dirk Extreme, Psycho, The Cursed, Chad Cruise, Dave Anderson, Eddie Gonzales, Superstar Shawn Parks, Hardcore Heather Owens, Pete News, Keith News, Jason Legend and “Shooting Star” Matt Taylor in the 2009 Tri-State Rumble to earn a shot at Any WWC Championship of his choice. He won after eliminating Taylor.

The big story here was after the match Taylor snapped in his quest to become WWC Champion and attacked Ashworth after the bell with a steel chair. When referee Steve Helpenstine tried to help he was devastated with a chair shot of his own. Taylor continued attacking people at ringside including Referee Brian Church and Jeremiah L. Young. Taylor left ringside to the jeers of the fans who have seen their hero fall into madness.

Our next show will be Saturday night October 24 in Aberdeen, OH and will be our annual Halloween Show featuring Superstar Shawn Parks taking on Dangerous Damien Kass in a casket match for the North American Championship! Bell time is 7pm, tickets are $8 at the door and $5 presale. Presale go on sale this weekend at Dr. Day’s office at the Active Care Chiropractic in Maysville, KY!

Hey fans, just letting everyone know that we haven’t abandoned Wrestle Ohio, and that we will be getting all the updates from the past few days posted here for you shortly.

As most (all?) of you know, Ohio just got hit with some nasty Winter weather, and unfortunately, the Wrestle Ohio office is right in one of the hardest hit areas. Which means, first we lost our internet connection on Tuesday night, which finally came back on Wednesday afternoon…roughly a half hour before we lost our electric!

And in addition to all of that, I nailed a deer Monday night on the way home and did some slight (at least I hope only slight) damage to my car…which is now running like a piece of crap! Fun times!!

Anyway, the past 72 hours have been hell for all of us, and I’d like to remind each and every one of you to keep whats really important in mind during this dangerous time. There are still people out there that haven’t had their electric restored yet, and there are still people out there that are cold and hungry, especially the elderly amongst us. So, if you’re one of the more fortunate ones…help out your friends, help out your neighbors, or help out a total stranger…you’ll be glad that you did!

That’s right fans, Wrestle Ohio is giving you the shirts right off our backs…so to speak! Since the relaunch of the site a couple months ago, we’ve been trying to decide on the best way to reward our loyal readers (and forum posters) for their continued support of indy wrestling, and more specifically, of WrestleOhio.com. So, starting today…we’re gonna be giving away free stuff to a select number of fans! That’s right, fans…FREE STUFF!! Who doesn’t like that?

I know that you’re asking yourself, “So, what’s the catch?”, and well, there is a small one…

To be eligible to win free stuff from WrestleOhio, you have to be active on the official WrestleOhio Forum. The forum gets about 150 visitors a day, but at present, only about 10 of those people are actually posting on it…and we want to change that! So here’s the deal…come to the forum, makes some posts, and once you’ve reached a certain number (see below) send us a message with your name, address, and what item you want, and we’ll send it right out to you. Yep, it’s really that simple!

There are, of course, some rules. Just one rule actually…we want quality posts! No spam, no porn, and no one word posts. The wrestling scene in Ohio is hotter than ever right now, so talk about your favorite wrestler, your favorite fed, hell talk about how hot the ring girls are…just make sure that you’re adding to the conversation and not just adding to your post count.

Now onto the important stuff…what you can win and how many posts you have to have…

500 Posts: A free WrestleOhio Pin
1000 Posts: A free WrestleOhio T-Shirt
1500 Posts: Your choice of any one (1) item from the WrestleOhio Store
2500 Posts: Your choice of any two (2) items from the WrestleOhio Store

So what are you waiting for? Head over to the official WrestleOhio Forum and start earning points towards some awesome merchandise today!

New Year’s Blowout – All PXW DVD’s for $9.99!

Project X Wrestling Hardcore HalloweenHappy New Year, everyone! 2008 is now history, and with the new year comes new discounts from our good friends over at Project X Wrestling & Slam Entertainment. In order to make room for a new shipment of DVD’s that will be arriving very shortly, Project X has authorized WrestleOhio.com to blow out their remaining (and very limited supply of) Hardcore Halloween DVD’s at an incredible price.

Hardcore Halloween, the first ever show from local upstart Project X Wrestling, took place on October 6, 2007 at the Jefferson Community Center in Blue Creek, Ohio. The show featured some of the hardest hitting hardcore, death-defying high-flying wrestling, a ladies match that blew the roof off the place, and much more! Here’s a full list of matches featured on the Project X Wrestling: Hardcore Halloween DVD

——————————

PXW Adrenaline Battle Royal/Ladder Match – 20 men entered this Battle Royal, and once it got down to the final two, it became a Ladder Match for the PXW Adrenaline Championship. This was one wild match that set the mood for the rest of the night, and proved that PXW delivers where other feds can’t!

Psycho vs. “The Cursed” Michael LaVey – This long running feud that has spanned over two states and countless federations found it’s way to the PXW ring…with a special added twist. PXW Management knew that this was gonna get out of hand, so they brought in a special guest enforcer…”Damn Fine” Jason Taylor…to makes sure this one was called right down the middle.

Ricochet w/Ryder vs. “Violent” Vance Desmond w/Exotic E. – Next up was the match to decide the PXW U.S. Champion and it pitted two of the most underrated superstars in the area against each other. This match got totally out of hand at one point, with both managers getting involved, but in the end order was restored and one man stood victorious as the first ever PXW U.S. Champion!

The Unholy Alliance (Tank Runyon & Tyson Rogers) vs. “Sensational” Shane Adams & El Nino – Fans, this is one match you have to see to believe! Newcomer Shane Adams and the lovable drunk El Nino took on ring veterans Tyson Rogers and Tank Runyon for the PXW Tag-Team Championships. In the end, we find out who the true Ring Generals are with a finish that shocked not only the fans…but the locker room as well!

Juggulator vs. Sam Hane – The Unlucky 13 was one of the matches that had the most buzz around it going into Hardcore Halloween…and it did not disappoint! Watch as these two (soon to be) Hardcore Icons take the fight all over the building, bashing each other with every weapon they could get their hands on, and stapling dollar bills to one another’s bodies. This match is not for the squeamish…but if you’re up to seeing blood and senseless violence (and who isn’t?) then this match is a must-see!

“Big Kahuna” Kenny Lucas vs. Tarek the Legend w/Demonika – Tarek the Legend had been running his mouth for years about being the best in the business, and being a true legend. If there is one thing that the Big Kahuna hates it’s a bragger…so the sparks were sure to fly when these two met in the ring. This was, without a doubt, one of the best matches of Hardcore Halloween.

Sassy Stephie vs. Angel Dust – The lovely ladies of PXW took the ring to decide the first-ever PXW Women’s Champion in a match that blew the roof off the place. These two women have been fighting all over Ohio for the past year…and there was no love lost when they stepped into the PXW ring for the first time! But who came out victorious…the spoiled rich bitch Sassy Stephie or the girl-next-door Angel Dust?

Vile vs. Onyx – This was the most anticipated match of the night, as the two biggest men in PXW met, for the first time ever, to decide the PXW Heavyweight Championship. Fans, this match was hard-hitting…it was brutal…and it was totally awesome! In the end, we got yet another shocking finish, which led into the…

Special Added Main Event – At the end of the scheduled main event, all hell broke loose, and PXW Management made another special main event! Who was involved? Why did it happen? And more importantly…which PXW Championship changed hands for the second time in one night? There’s only one way to find out…and that’s to buy the PXW: Hardcore Halloween DVD and watch this awesome match for yourself!

——————————

Fans, this was an incredible night of action and excitement…and here’s your last chance to witness it all over again. Once these are sold, they will not be reproduced…ever again! So, while supplies last, Project X Wrestling, Slam Entertainment, and WrestleOhio.com have joined forces to bring you this amazing DVD at a discounted price of only $9.99 + $4.00 S/H! So what are you waiting for…click the button below and get this awesome DVD at an amazing price!

WrestleOhio.com Looking for Reporters

WrestleOhio.com Looking for Contributors/Reporters

Hey fans! Just wanted to let everyone know that WrestleOhio.com is finally back up and running at 100%, and we are ready to start the New Year off with a bang! We have a couple of big announcements that we will be making very shortly, announcements that we hope will help the site grow, and take WrestleOhio.com so much farther in the coming year.

In early 2008, we started WrestleOhio to showcase our favorite Ohio wrestling federations, which at the time was only about 8 federations located in Southern Ohio. We very quickly came to the realization that we couldn’t choose just a few federations to showcase…because just about every fed in Ohio is pretty kick-ass in one way or another! So we decided to make WrestleOhio a super-site and cover every wrestling federation in Ohio, and the site quickly grew from covering only 8 federations located in the southern region to covering over 30 federations located all over the state. With that expansion came some new challenges…namely the fact that we can’t be at every show that takes place in the State of Ohio!

So with that being said…we need your help! WrestleOhio is currently looking for Contributors and Reporters that would like to help WrestleOhio.com become the definitive source for pro wrestling news in Ohio. If you’re someone who goes to a lot of different shows and would like to write match results, news on upcoming events, etc….then you are exactly the type person that we are looking for. Just shoot us an e-mail at news@wrestleohio.com and let us know what feds you can cover, and we will go from there!

Please Note: At the current time, this is not a paying position, but you will get full credit for any results, match reviews, upcoming events, etc. that you send in to WrestleOhio.com and you will be listed as a Contributor on the site.

We hope to have the problem fixed by this weekend, at which time we will post all of the news and results that have been sent to us since last Thursday. Thanks for your understanding!
