Dangerous Damien Kass & Ric ByrneThe WWC Executive Committee today announced an addition to their membership. Ric Byrne has been added to the Committee, filling the currently vacant role of Talent Relations Manager.

Ric Byrne’s history with the WWC begins at the very formation of the company. He’s been a solid competitor on both sides of the fence, holding and defending every major title in the WWC over the course of the past 7 years. Recent injuries forced him to the side, an event which frustrated Byrne to no end. Not content to be a background player, Byrne has been working hard at every WWC show since, trying to find a continued role within the company.

Executive Committee Chairperson Dustin Walken commented that “We’re very pleased that Ric Byrne has accepted the offer to join our ranks. His wealth of experience inside the wrestling industry along with his dedicated work ethic have made him the ideal candidate to manage, mentor and evaluate the WWC’s roster of talent on a permanent basis. We look forward to seeing the positive impact Mr. Byrne’s continued guidance to our established and upcoming talent will have.”

This does pose the question – Dangerous Damien Kass has been hinting for the past several months that he’s found a new mentor, with all the signs pointing to it being Ric Byrne. In fact, DDK was recently suspended for a show due to using Ric Byrne’s banned finishing manuever, the 3rd Degree. Byrne has denied the claim repeatedly, stating that DDK is “just using my name to try and get attention” – but then how does that mesh with the above photo, sent to us last week by an anonymous source? Are Byrne and DDK engaging in a war of the words in public, or is there more to DDK’s claims than Byrne has admitted?

Either way it goes, this relationship is one to keep your eye on as DDK is available to return from suspension at TitleClash 4 – but so far, no match has been announced featuring DDK. We here at wwcweb.com may not b e able to guarantee DDK has a match at the next show, but we can tell you that much like Ric Byrne, DDK can’t stand to sit on the sidelines. We’ll be keeping an eye out for DDK this Saturday at TitleClash 4 for sure!

WWC: Title Clash 4 – Aberdeen, OH – 8/14/10

The Executive Committee of the World Wrestling Coalition has promised that the week leading up to TitleClash 4 will be filled with a number of announcements about the event and the company. Fans, this first one is a doozy – the scheduled match between WWC Heavyweight Champion Matt Taylor and challenger Aaron Williams will now be fought under Last Man Standing rules!

For those of you who missed Midsummer’s Nightmare, Aaron Williams started the night with a win over Malo Pescado, and an open declaration – he was going to be cashing in his title shot as the King of Extreme 2010 winner against whomever the champion would be at TitleClash 4!

This did not sit well at all with Matt Taylor, pushing the already on-edge wrestler overboard. After Taylor retained his title against the former champion JT Stahr – he then turned on his own manager, Violent Bob! After bloodying Bob and humiliating him by cutting off Bob’s hair, Matt screamed out a warning to Williams – if this is what Taylor was willing to do to win the title, then what would he be willing to do to keep it?

The Executive Committee looked over a number of options for this match before finally deciding that the match needed to be fought under Last Man Standing rules. This means the only way to win is for one of the two wrestlers to put the other one down for a 10-Count… possibly the only way to end this burning rivalry once and for all!

You do NOT want to miss this match when WWC returns to Aberdeen this Saturday, August 14th with TitleClash 4! In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled here and at WWC’s official MySpace, FaceBook, and Web sites for more announcements throughout the week!

WWC: MidSummer’s Nightmare – Aberdeen, OH – 7/10/10

Fans were shocked at Pandemonium when Matt Taylor walked out of the 4 Way Dance as the new WWC World Heavyweight Champion. Ever the cagey one, Matt struck when opportunity presented itself, gaining what many have called a tainted victory to capture his first reign as WWC World Heavyweight Champion. The Executive Committee have informed us here at WWCWeb.com today that they’ve decided to eliminate the variables and present the man Taylor deposed as champion, JT Stahr, a one on one opportunity to reclaim the title!

What’s not yet known is how this sits with either of the two other particpants in the 4 Way Dance at Pandemonium – Aaron Williams or “Dangerous” Damien Kass. Rumor has been buzzing around the WWC offices that Aaron has requested time to speak at Midsummer’s Nightmare, presumably to address his longtime rival Matt Taylor. We’ll have to wait a little longer to hear from DDK, though – when DDK used the banned “3rd Degree” manuever in the Fatal 4 Way (the second usage fo the banned move in a row), the Executive Committee handed down a suspension to the rough and tumble bruiser. Will the time off give DDK a chance to consider his actions, or will it just force his legendary anger to simmer longer?

Fans, I highly recommend you get your tickets for Midsummer’s Nightmare now to guarantee a seat for what is already shaping up to be a premiere WWC event! We’ll see you in Aberdeen on July 10th!

WWC: Pandemonium Results

Saturday, June 12th was another momentous night in the history of the World Wrestling Coalition, featuring a change in the championship roster!

The evening started with “The Dark Angel” Mike West standing in for the absent Eclipso as The Solar Powers (Jake Ashworth and manager Will Profit) defeated the team of Princeton Travis and Marvel Trice.

WWC World Heavyweight Champion JT Stahr came out to address the fans after the completion of his recent tour of Thailand and Japan. He was shortly interrupted by DDK (with Naughtia), Matt Taylor (with Violent Bob) and Aaron Williams, all claiming to have a valid contendership for the WWC World Heavyweight Championship! JT decided to have everyone put aside their contenderships and claims – instead, he would face them all in the evening’s main event!

Newly crowned North American Champion Terry Reines defeated DJ Tom Sharp to retain his title.

Continuing the theme of returns, Dave Nevada and Devlin Anderson reformed to face down WWC Tag Team Champions International Incident. The duo of Nikita Allanov and Eddy Gonzales skated away with their titles intact after being disqualified when Terry Reines interfered in the match, striking Dave Nevada.

“The Penthouse Playboy” Jimmy Malloy entered the Tri-State Rumble match first and outlasted all other entrants to win the battle royal and claim the $1000 prize. “Superstar” Shawn Parks returned to the ring after suffering a concussion from a Nikita Allanov pile-driver last month – although the slightly confused Superstar was dressed and acting in a way very reminiscent of the Ultimate Warrior!

“The Dark Star” Matt Taylor (with Violent Bob) defeated JT Stahr, Aaron Williams and DDK to become the new WWC World Heavyweight Champion. Opportunity was created for Taylor when DDK used the banned “3rd Degree” manuever (in a misguided attempt to emulate his unwilling “mentor” Ric Byrne). Using the move had DDK disqualified and banned from the match, yet JT Stahr had taken the damage from the move nonetheless. Taylor seized the moment to grab the pin and his first reign as WWC World Heavyweight Champion.

There’s sure to be plenty of fallout from this one, folks – word is that JT has already appealed to the Executive Committee to get a singles rematch against Taylor. For his second usage of the banned 3rd Degree, DDK has been suspended and will not be appearing at WWC’s MidSummer’s Nightmare on July 10th. How will all of this play out? Check out WWCweb.com!

The World Wrestling Coalition returned to The Municipal Building in Aberdeen, OH on Saturday May 8, 2010 for a night of awesome action. If you missed it, here’s what went down.

DJ Tom Sharp defeated Ultra Mega Mass Homicide by pinfall (winning the #1 contendership for the North American Title).

Dave Nevada defeated Justin Hollins by pinfall.

Matt Taylor defeated Bennett Cole by pinfall.

Jimmy Malloy defeated Malo Pescado by pinfall.

DDK defeated Aaron Williams by pinfall.

Nikita Allanov, Ed Gonzales & Terry Raines defeated Eclipso, Shawn Parks & Jake Ashworth by pinfall (WWC Tag, WWC NA).

Points of Interest:

DDK has made his power move to gain the recognition he feels he deserves. Stating earlier in the night that he had formulated a plan to make management notice him by picking one of the most decorated and infamous wrestlers in WWC history to emulate. The Dangerous One then proceeded to come to the ring after Nevada defeated Hollins and deliver the dreaded 3rd Degree, a move that has been banned from WWC for quite some time, to an unsuspecting Hollins. DDK then walked up to the announce table and pointed at Ric Byrne, the originator of the 3rd Degree, seemingly to the surprise of Byrne himself. What this means and whether or not Byrne and DDK are in cahoots remains to be seen.

Terry Raines accompanied by his International Incident (I.I.) cohorts, Nikita Allanov and Ed Gonzales, came to the ring to hold another live edition of The Final Bell talk show/interview segment with his guest being Ric Byrne. Raines and I.I. went on to question Byrne about his involvement in the upcoming six man tag team title match vs. The Solar Powers. The gist of the questions and verbal attacks centered on Byrne being retired due to medical reasons and how he possibly felt that he could tag with The Solar Powers. Byrne revealed that while he would be involved in the match, it would be as the guest referee and not as a wrestler. The third man teaming with The Solar Powers would be none other than the North American champion Superstar Shawn Parks. I.I. refused to participate in the match until Parks put his N.A. Title on the line as well. At the end of the match Raines attempted to use a chair on Parks but was stopped by Byrne who took the chair away from him and threw it aside, giving Allanov the opportunity to deliver a vicious piledriver to Parks onto the discarded steel chair behind Byrne’s back. Raines then made a pinfall on Parks winning the N.A. Title. After the match I.I. continued to attack The Solar Powers, Parks and Will Profit. The actions of I.I. left Parks unconscious in the ring and requiring medical attention. Days later word came to WWC officials that Parks had suffered a severe concussion and possibly other head trauma resulting from the piledriver on the steel chair. How this will affect the career of The Superstar is of yet unknown and only time will tell.

WWC Presents Grand Slam 2010 on 5/08/10

Gearing up for the summer season, WWC will be holding Grand Slam 2010 in Aberdeen, OH on Saturday, May 8. This show promises to have something for everyone, and answers for all. The aftermath of King of Extreme left fans with many exciting, unanswered questions. Not the least of which being the identity of the third team member joining the Soar Powers against International Incident. Is Ric Byrne making his wrestling return despite his long injured ankle and eleven months out of the ring? Is Will Profit turning from Manager to Wrestler? Or will some other ally from the past stand alongside the team who talks to planets to hold on to the tag titles?

At KOE, Violent Bob, who had been banned from ringside, was found to be sitting in the crowd and was escorted from the building at the beginning of the show. Later in the night he again attempted to interfere on the behalf of Matt Taylor. WWC President Patrick Black has banned Violent Bob from the entire building for Grand Slam, but fans have to wonder what new and horrid tricks the Violent one may still have up his trench coat.

Dangerous Damien Kass again proved himself a serious contender in April, by holding on through the final four of the KOE battle to come within a hair’s grasp of capturing the crown. After months of being slated against opponents he considers beneath his talent, DDK has continued to vehemently demand ’higher quality’ opponents. How will the WWC Board of Directors answer these demands? What shape will DDK’s increasing anger over the situation take at Grand Slam?

As spring grown to early summer, so too has grown new talent in WWC. WWC has found several new prospects in 2010, as well as seeing the return of former stars Dave Nevada and Justin Hollins. Joining the ranks of newcomers such as Marvel Trice, Princeton Travis, Malo Pescado and DJ Tom Sharp will be the debut of ‘the Black Sheep’ Bennett Cole. Little is known about Cole, but as fans have been shown by other newcomers this year, little known does not mean little prepared. Which WWC superstar will Cole set his sights on for his debut?

Also, from among this group of fresh talent comes a match-up to determine the number 1 contender to the North American Championship. DJ Tom Sharp will take on Marvel Trice in this match-up. Trice hopes that victory in this match will allow him to do what his tag partner, Princeton Travis, failed to do; take the North American belt off of Superstar Shawn Parks. Will Trice continue to be undefeated in WWC or will Sharp have a shot at the top of the NASS division?

To get the answers to these questions and see all the stars you love (and love to hate), make your way to Grand Slam!
