The signature event of Pro Wrestling Ohio every year is “Wrestlelution”, and this year’s installment is officially in the books. An afternoon of drama, emotion, triumph, and defeat. For all involved it was truly “A Defining Moment”.
PWO Champion Johnny Gargano attempted to unleash a year’s worth of hell in one night upon challenger “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross in a hellacious war that saw the two men battle through a sea of people throughout the entire Nautica Pavilion. Johnny Gargano’s attempts at replicating his dive from a 25 foot balcony the prior year were thwarted by the uncanny aerial abilities of Cross. Matt defied gravity in several ways, not only scaling up the balcony to thwart Gargano, but risking life to tightrope walk across the edge as well, not to mention climbing the support poles of the Nautica Pavilion itself! After a wild brawl, broken tables, shattered bodies, and an ending that quite simply has to be seen to be believed and brings new meaning to “split-second timing” as Gargano literally took out his challenger in mid-air and mid-rotation. Thanks to the sadistic and vile nature of the “old” Johnny Gargano, the “new” Johnny Gargano achieves closure and restores his reputation.
Sex Appeal have spent much of the entire year out to prove they are better than the likes of Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe, The Homeless Handicapped Connection, in every way – physically and mentally. Stepping into this No-disqualification war, Bobby Shields & Bobby Beverly had no issue unleashing their ugly side to prove the dominance and superiority. Iron & Hobo held their own in a wild bloodbath that saw the supposed perfect looks of Beverly and the already war-torn flesh of Iron both bleeding heavily. Hobo & Iron were still very much in the fight with the odds even for the first time until Shields motioned for the arrival of Nicki Valentino, with handcuffs in hand. With an apparent goal of repeating the savage attack they inflicted on Iron & Hobo a few weeks beforehand, they were soon thwarted by an ace up the sleeve of the Homeless Handicapped Connection. Professional wrestling’s only one-legged wrestler, Zach Gowen, emerged through the curtain prepared to even the odds for his fellow underprivileged friends. Gowen eliminated Valentino through the use of his cane, and then unleashed a breathtaking moonsault onto a helpless Beverly. In the confusion, Shields was the one who ironically became handcuffed, allowing a measure of retribution for Hobo Joe. With Zach Gowen keeping the odds fair, Iron & Hobo were finally able to prove themselves and capture the PWO Tag Team Titles, showing that even the most superior of athletes can be bested on any given day.
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan brought the stars & stripes and his trusty 2×4 to Pro Wrestling Ohio in an attempt to beat some respect into “Megastar” Marion Fontaine. Fontaine was cautious and looking to pick his perfect opportunity, and it soon became apparent why. The Megastar, after besting Duggan for several minutes, looked to eliminate the legend with Hacksaw’s own 2×4! Fontaine’s plans were thwarted and it was “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan with his hand raised, and Marion Fontaine who now has to find another way to show he is the alleged biggest star in PWO.
Raven wheeled in a shopping cart full of violence and brutality, with Agent Aaron Maguire and Mr. Brinks following closely behind, preparing for the $100,000 Bounty Raven’s Rules match against PWO’s Most Dominant Man, Jason Bane. As trash cans, golf clubs, metal trays, chairs, and other implements of destruction became involved, the tide turned multiple times. Raven’s mission of ridding PWO of Bane to collect the $100,000 from Maguire proved to be more difficult than first expected. Involvement from Maguire and Brinks as well aided the cause, but Bane continued to kick out of every pinfall and survive. Even The Raven Effect/Evenflow DDT was NOT enough to keep Bane down for three! Jason Bane persevered, and after numerous attempts, finally hit the Baneline to secure the pin on Raven for three. Maguire, incensed his biggest investment to date hasn’t paid off, verbally berated Raven in the center of the ring, but soon found himself in the middle of a very angry Bane AND Raven, and facing one of the most painful and humiliating moments of his life.
PWO Television Champion “Omega” Aaron Draven knew he had to pin the man who had not been pinned in nearly two years in order to keep the title he covets so dearly. Draven attempted to use speed and his death-defying arsenal to weaken Boone, but it only went so far. After several minutes of Boone demonstrating frightening power and dominance, and sheer determination, Boone motioned for Sons of Michigan lackey Ben Fruith to get involved. However, moments earlier, Fruith had been physically and verbally manhandled by Boone following Fruith’s loss to Portia “Dr. Monstrous” Perez, a match made by Boone himself, where Fruith refused to strike a woman. Fruith, however had no issues about striking Boone, as a retaliatory slap from Fruith brought a roar from the crowd. As Fruith stormed out of the arena, Boone was left a on his own, and the miscommunication allowed Omega to recover and achieve the near-impossible. After a breathtaking 450 splash, Omega Aaron Draven has pinned Benjamin Boone.
The first of two six man tags saw The Ninja Elite Squad, Michael “The Bomber” Façade, Louis Lyndon, and Flip Kendrick, unite to take on Shiima Xion’s hired guns The Gambino Family, and their partner… Nicki Valentino? While The Gambinos and Sex Appeal have done business in the past, it appeared this partnership did not mesh very well. As Marshall “The Bull” and “Nice Guy” Mickey looked to attack and assault at the request of Shiima, still at home recovering from injury, Valentino however seemed to not hold up his end of the bargain, and was perhaps more focused on his necktie than with the job at hand. After The Ninja Elite Squad had gained full control and had The Gambino Family on the outside, Mickey & Marshall chose to save the job for another day, and leave Valentino to the proverbial wolves. “Late Nite” Nicki had a long night on the receiving end of NES’ best before being finished off by Flip Kendrick. But what will happen when Shiima Xion comes back?
Elimination rules were in effect in the battle between former Clash teammates Ernie Ballz and Brian Bender as they battled to determine who truly led their former tag team to prominence. After Ernie, Eric Ryan, and Corey Winters had eliminated The Puerto Rican Wrecking Crew, the ego of Ernie Ballz took over, as he seemed to be dictating Eric & Corey’s every move, or at least attempting to. Though Eric Ryan had things well in hand, Ernie’s distraction led to Bender eliminating Ryan. In a shocking turn of events, Krimson appeared following Ryan’s elimination. While it was unsure his motives, he sprayed Ryan with that mysterious red mist, before carrying Ryan off over his shoulder. But why? Meanwhile, Corey Winters had had enough as well, and abandoned his team leader leaving Ballz vs. Bender one-on-one. After several minutes of Ernie’s brains vs. Bender’s athleticism, Brian Bender emerged triumphant as the sole survivor.
Krimson’s scheduled bout with Super Hentai did not take place due to a last minute family emergency with Hentai, however Krimson was on hand to hint that he may know a little more about this emergency than meets the eye. It seems Krimson has taken his professional crusade against the wrestling business an extra several steps, and is stepping into personal lives as well. As Krimson described this issue with a sadistic grin, Michael Façade made his second appearance of the evening, this time to stand up and fight in honor of a man who spent many years training and mentoring him, Super Hentai. With Façade taking Hentai’s place, Krimson was able to unleash much of his pent-up fury, though The Bomber pressed on utilizing his remarkable aerial skills. With Krimson’s growing power and Façade already fatigued from one match earlier in the evening, Krimson uses the “Witch’s Wheel” to win once again.

Last night was a great show for the Dynamic Wrestling Alliance as the fans at the 73 Skate Club in Trenton,OH got to see a new championship begin, a friendship crumble, a new alliance emerge and alot of great action.
To start off the show, “The Boss” Sean Bossman, called the founder of the DWA, Johnny Diamond, to the ring. Diamond proceeded to complain about the lapse of the security team to contain both the wrestlers and the fans. In Middletown two weeks ago and the Skate Club last month, there had been too much close interaction between the fans and the wrestlers, mainly The Colonel and Shomari, as they sent many of the younger fans running from their seats due to fright. Diamond called T.J., head of security, to the ring and verbally berated him as T.J. told him they would redeem themselves tonight.
After Boss sang the anthem, he announced the formation and 4-man tournament for the new Dynamic Wrestling Alliance Internet Championship. The four men competing would be Virus, Idol Heinze, “The Showcase” Brett Michaels and Sgt. Ledbetter.
The first match-up would pit a rematch from last month’s Rumble at the Rink, Virus vs. The Showcase (w/The Colonel). Both competitors looked good early on and James got his licks in when Virus was tossed outside. Virus missed an elbow from the top and then Michaels did the same. But as Virus went for a cover, The Colonel jumped up and tossed a foreign object toward Brett like last month. Though this time Virus got it away and used it himself and got the pin as the ref turned around. James was livid as Virus celebrated to advance to the finals.
The second semi-final match was a rematch from Homecoming in Middletown as Idol Heinze faced The Sarge, Sgt. Ledbetter. These guys resumed their feud and matched the physicality from their Middletown match. But in the end, Heinze hit a Cross-body on Ledbetter, only to have Sarge reverse it, roll him up and grab the tights to advance to the tournament finals.
The next match saw The Beast from the Congo, Shomari (w/Col. Jonathan James) take on the newest member of the DWA Roster, Kharn Alexander. The muscular Kharn tried early on to match strength with Shomari, but was quickly repelled, as was most of his offense. The colonel spent most of his time outside the ring berating the kid. Shomari hit all his usual moves on his smaller opponent but it was a Cross-body Splash from the top rope that led to his victory.
After intermission was the finals to crown the first ever DWA Internet Champion. Sgt. Ledbetter was greeted in the ring by a loud round of boos from the 100 or so fans in attendance and then had to endure the cheers from the very same as Virus made his way to the ring. Both competitors fought gallantly for the right to be called the first Internet Champion. Ledbetter got the upper hand and was going to end it by Power-Bombing Virus. Virus reversed it and flipped over Sarge into a Sunset Flip and held him for the pinfall and the title.
As he celebrated, Virus’ best friend Idol Heinze entered to seemingly celebrate with him. But he attacked him and he and Ledbetter double-teamed him. Ledbetter grabbed the mic and announced that he and Heinze were joining forces and that the “Army of Destiny” was a force to be reckoned with.
That brings us to the main event. Purple Reign were announced first and they strutted their way there. Then after Trice was announced, the music for the DWA World Champion, Vic the Bruiser, played. But the champ never came out. Trice grabbed the mic and called him out himself but to no avail. Then the music for “The Frontman” Evan Da Malice played and he made his way out and told Trice he would be his partner tonight. The match was started and the fans stayed glued to the edge of theirs seats for this one. Da Malice hit his Samoan Drop and a Spinebuster on The S.I. and tagged in Trice. As Trice hoisted S.I. on his shoulders for a version of the Doomsday Device and Da Malice climbed the turnbuckles, Shomari, Showcase and the Colonel emerged from the back. Moments after security did their job and prevented them from reaching the ring, Evan hit a Senton onto the whole group, scattering them like bowling pins and eventually ending up on top of James. Meanwhile in the ring, S.I. rolled forward, catching Trice in a Victory Roll for the pin.
A return to 73 Skate Club was not announced, only the upcoming shows at the Hamilton County Fair on August 13 and 14 and at the DAV in Middletown on August 28, 2010.

Here’s what went down:

But, if the Novas won both bouts, they will receive a title shot.
Hot Commodity Matt Mason downed Jeremy Madrox.
The Marquee Mikey D. & Joe Joe Little beat Benjamin Boone & Brian Bender.

The Infection defeated Stewie Backlund & The Fitness Machine.
Assistant to the CEO Nate the Snake Pelley came to the ring to talk about FanFest. He announced the 10 Woman Battle Royal and then brought Austin Meddler to the ring to announce his opponents for the Ultimate Ladder Match. First was the Genuine Superstar Anthony Bryant (with Kirk Sheppard). Then, KY Jordan – who lately has been an ally to Bryant and Sheppard was added to the match. Thirdly, Jeremy “I’m Your Hero” Hyde was announced. Then Pelley said that he was shaking things up tonight by adding a fourth opponent to the match this year – and Jay Donaldson came to the ring!
Pelley then made a tag team match for tonight pitting Bryant and Donaldson together against The Hero and KY Jordan. This upset Sheppard. Pelley then announced that Austin Meddler would be the special guest referee! Sheppard stormed over to Pelley and insulted him and Chad Allegra and called Pelley “Chicken Arms.” Pelley then made an arm wrestling contest for FanFest between himself and Sheppard.
Coach Lotus pinned The Playboy. After the match, KYRON came to the ring but stopped when Pelley got on the microphone and made a match between these two for FanFest.
The Brothers Sanchez defeated Jac Attack’s Army when The Zodiac punched the Warlock in the face after another altercation between the two of them. Warlock demanded that The Zodiac be fired and Jac Attack went to do it – but Pelley intervened and made a Loser Leaves Town Match for Fanfest between the two.
Unified Champion Muldoon and NWF Champion Roger Ruffen went to the ring and talked about their match tonight with Samson.
Nasty Russ pinned inGe. After the match, inGe got up and called Russ into the ring for more. Russ grabbed a chair and T-Money ran out and made the save. Nate Pelley set up another match for FanFest . . . Nasty Russ vs. T-Money with inGe as the referee!
T-Money defeated NWF Champion Roger Ruffen by disqualification when Nasty Russ interfered.
KY Jordan & Jeremy “I’m Your Hero” Hyde wrestled to a double disqualification with Jay Donaldson & The Genuine Superstar when the partners started arguing with one another. Austin Meddler was rejoicing as the partners began brawling until Nate Pelley came out, ended the match, and added another stipulation. In fact, he added another wrestler and another title – putting NWF Champion Roger Ruffen in the match!
The Hippies defeated Matt Stephens & Danny Todd when Jesse Hyde hit Stephens with the title belt. The Hippies continued to attack until Coach Lotus ran down to the ring. Before he could get there, though, Kyron came out and attacked Lotus. Nate Pelley made a return tag team title match for Fanfest between the Hippies & Stephens/Todd.
Samson and Unified Champion Muldoon (with Roger Ruffen) wrestled to a double count out. Nate Pelley came out and announced the main event for FanFest – a STEEL CAGE MATCH between these two giants!

The Rev reviews MCW: Red, White, & Bruised II on July 17, 2010 from The MCW Wrestleplex in Alliance, OH.
Once more, as sure as the weather’s hotter then the outskirts of Hell, it is I, your friendly neighborhood Reverend Rogue Six, with your “Red, White, & Bruised II” post-show review. . .
Justin Diaz (with Dick Jeremy) opened the evening by defeating Tex Tootin’ of the Rootin’ Tootin’ Buckaroos — with a very disturbing assist from the Blonde Wonder himself, Dick Jeremy.
The match started off with Tex taking control, but not for very long. Justin gained control of the match, and at the expense of ol’ Tex’s dignity (I’ve never seen anyone use the Macarena to break a hold before, but there’s a first time for everything. . .]. A couple of times, Tex bailed out of the ring to seek help from his brother Rex — but since they’re both masked. . .there could still have been something hinky going on, and I’m still damned if I can prove it. Diaz nailed Tex with a rather impressive Codebreaker, which left the Texan in the one corner — and open prey for a patented Justin Diaz Bronco Buster! As Diaz was hanging for the required eight seconds, brother Rex attempted to get in the ring. . .only to have Dick momentarily block his path by — oh god, it’s still disturbing even now — flashing him! One double-underhook bulldog later, and the Buckaroos’ winning streak was stopped at one!
Just as Diaz and Jeremy were celebrating their win, the twisted strains of Isaac Alter’s music played. Out came none other than Mordecai, Bible in hand. Just as he took the house mic, a hearty round of “SHUT THE FUCK UP” chants started; this made it a bit hard to catch what he had to say (not that I care, but I try to get as much detail as I can). I did hear him say something about the partnership of Diaz and Jeremy being “an abomination”, and that Diaz needed to “get down on [his] knees and pray for salvation.” As soon as I heard the words “down on [his] knees’, I thought “this isn’t going to end well. . .for Mordecai.” Diaz started to kneel — then stopped and took the mic from Mordecai. “Justin Diaz never gets down in his knees. . .unless Dick Jeremy’s around. . .” (or words to that effect] and with that said, he delivered a swift bulldog to the dark priest and rolled him out of the ring.
Apparently Diaz had something else on his mind: “I’ve had a lot of fun all these years in the ring, but those years are catching up with me . . .and on September 18th, I will wrestle my final match. But until then. . .” he sent Jeremy back to the locker room, “I’m going to have some fun. . .some of you may remember how I began. . .” Jeremy quickly returned to the ring, with a feather boa in hand — a boa that he handed to Diaz, “I used to be known as ‘The Rainbow Warrior’. . .well, until my final night, The Rainbow Warrior is back!” His old entrance theme, “It’s Raining Men”, began to play as the duo headed back to the locker room.
For this opening match, I’m awarding Dick Jeremy the Rodney Carrington “Show Them To Me” Award for his actions. (And if you know the song, you know why I chose this one).
MCW Heavyweight Champion Christian Vaughn (who looked more like the character of Goku from the DragonBall Z series, so that’s what I’ll be referring to him as from now on), along with assists from his loyal minion Big Hurt and Minka Murder, defeated Super Lucha in what could best be called a 3-on-1 handicap match. Lucha tried to keep an eye out for ambushes, but in a situation like this, you can only do so much before the numbers get to you. Goku and company seemed to rely more on distracting the referee and interfering then actually wrestling, while Lucha fought an incredible fight with such moves as a swing around the ringpost into a hurricanrana on Goku, an off-the-top-rope diving DDT, and a split-legged moonsault that Rob Van Dam would have approved of. But when the ref was distracted, it was all Goku’s night as he finished Lucha with a belly-to-back superplex and his trademark piledriver for the win.
As Goku and Hurt administered a post-match attack on Lucha, out from the back like a bullet came Luscious Larry Lavender, who slid into the ring and laid into Big Hurt with a flurry of punches! A new ref came in behind him, called for the bell, and the next match — a Falls Count Anywhere match — was on!
I’m not even going to try to detail this match for you, folks, because not only did it go everywhere in the Wrestleplex (and I do mean EVERYWHERE — even the restroom area and the concession stand), there was little finesse or science to it; it was simply sheer, unadulterated violence and mayhem. Chairs were used (and even broken — yes, we learned that steel chairs can break!), poles, doors, a shopping cart (don’t ask me where it came from, but they found one), and even the building itself came into play. In the end (and I’d really like to tell you how, but even from my vantage point, I couldn’t see how), Luscious Larry Lavender put an end to the feud by pinning Big Hurt!
To Luscious Larry Lavender, I’m awarding the Rev’s Tommy Dreamer “Hardcore Icon” medal. Breaking a steel chair — I don’t impress easily, but you have to admit, that in itself was DAMN impressive.
Jamie Starr and Matt Mason — known as The Hi-Def Super Novas (dear Lord, what the hell manner of name is THAT?) — made their MCW debut by facing my favorite tag team, Mentally Unstable. Now, I must admit that I was a bit impressed at first by the HDSN entrance style. . .a little flashy for my tastes, and Jesse Ventura needs to check his supply of boas, I think some of them were missing. . .and I was starting to like them — until they started talking. And thus ended my approval. Out came Krazy and Toby Klein, and the match was on! Just as things were going well for the Mentally Unstable team, I saw Toby glance at ringside and his look went dark; sitting at ringside were Dr. Dale Pierce and Jebediah — who had been suspended by Commissioner Shasta! I’m not sure if they were working with the HDSN, but their presence seemed to throw Toby off his game; when I saw Toby say “WHERE IS SHE?”, I remembered not seeing his fiancee in the crowd. . . Oh, this was going south faster then a bad bottle of tequila, which didn’t bode well for Krazy, who was getting worked over by the Novas, who ended up winning the match.
After the match, a fight broke out between Toby, Jebediah, and Dr. Dale; this brought out Shasta, who didn’t looked amused.
“You two jackasses know you’re suspended, yet you sneak in here. . .no one knows where Mr. Insanity’s girl is, but I know you’re involved. . .Jebediah, you and Toby have damn killed each other over the last few months, so we’re gonna end this once and for all — on July 31st, MCW XXXTreme’s coming back to Massillon . . .it’s going to be Jebediah and ‘Mr. Insanity’ Toby Klein in an ‘I QUIT’ match!”
And here I thought the Dog Collar match was bad. . .
Allison Kay scored an upset win in a No-DQ match over Jessicka Havok, who hit the ring with a full head of steam to start it off. Allison not only had a chair with Jessicka’s picture on it, she had a couple of packets of powder hidden somewhere — and used them both to gain the win! While she fought a good match, I have to say that Ms. Havoc made two tactical mistakes; not only did her anger cost her any focus, she underestimated her opponent. (You’ll get her next time, Jessicka, no worries.)
During the course of the show, raffle tickets were available for a chance to be one of the five fans involved in the night’s Main Event — a Lumberjack Strap match between Mike Hercum and Wilbur Whitlock for the MCW Elite Championship. 3 guys and 2 girls were the winners, and I couldn’t help but note that one of the girls seemed a little too excited about being able to use a strap on someone. . .maybe I was wrong. . .
A few minutes later, the locker room emptied out with MCW lumberjacks all armed with belts, joining the 5 fans. (At this point, I left my usual vantage point to get a better view) The lumberjacks were primed to use their straps, and they seemed to look like piranhas waiting for a side of beef. . .
Wilbur came out to the ring, a smile on his face (and I don’t think it was because he was happy to be there, it was a smile that said “Oh the things I’m gonna do tonight. . .”). This was a man ready for a war. Mike Hercum came out next, his cockiness not as pronounced as usual. At the bell, the match started, and the lumberjacks closed in.
(One note: there was a rule made for the lumberjacks — the straps could be used only when one man’s feet were BOTH on the floor.)
Hercum was the first out on the floor, only he had the presence of mind to bail out in friendly territory. The second time he went out, not so lucky — and he tasted the straps!
Wilbur got it next, then it began to alternate between the two – although it seemed Hercum got it a little harder then Wilbur did. . .
There was even a mishap in the lumberjacks, as it looked like Big Hurt clipped Goku with a belt!
In a moment of confusion, Big Hurt decided to change the rules; he got a chair, got up into the ring, and blasted Wilbur with it!
Hercum saw the unconscious Wilbur, set up the Sharpshooter, and to the ref (who I had a short come-to-Jesus chat with after the match), it appeared that Wilbur had passed out — from the submission hold (despite the fact that there was a chair in the ring — HELLO?) and awarded the match to Mike Hercum!
My opinion of what happened matched that of the crowd — WTH?
I talked to Referee Dave Rogers after the match, and this was his statement:
“Rev, all I saw was that Hercum had Wilbur in the submission hold, and Wilbur wasn’t responding to me. I didn’t have a choice in the matter, I had to award the match to Mike Hercum. Yes, there was a chair in the ring, but I didn’t see anyone use it. And I can’t go on what I hear, I have to go with what I see. I’m sorry, it sucks sometimes, but that’s the way it is.”
I checked the MCW rulebook myself, and damn if he wasn’t right. Crap. Ah well. . .Wilbur, if I was you, I know who I’d be going after next. . .
Until next time, I am the Reverend Rogue Six, and in the words of The Most Interesting Man in the World (an old drinking buddy of mine), “I normally don’t watch wrestling, but when I do, I prefer MCW — stay extreme, my friends.”
