IWA Returns to Chillicothe, OH on 3/04/10

Posted: March 2, 2010

The International Wrestling Alliance has announced three huge matches for their March 4, 2010 event in Chillicothe Ohio.

In one main event, Dr. David Lanning will be squaring off against the Razorback – J.T. Hogg. At one point Lanning was actually Hogg’s manager. And the two was thick as thieves. But that all ended when Lanning decided to try his luck as a in ring competitor. The good doctor adopted a more rule abiding approach to wrestling than the brawling style preferred by Hogg. Thus tension rose between the two. The real problems came when Hogg and Lanning started teaming together. Not only did the two not approve of each others style but Hogg believed Lanning was trying to always steel all the glory by doing all the talking during interviews. This all led to probably the most brutal break up of any team in IWA history. Hogg viciously attacked Lanning after several of Lanning’s matches. Often leaving him beaten and bloody.

The two will square off March 4th in a No Holds Barred contest. Basically there will be no rules and either man can do anything he wants. Lanning, who gives up over two hundred and fifty pounds to Hogg, is promising some sort of a surprise.

In the co main event “The A Game” Rick Ramsey will be defending his United States Championship against IWA newcomer Bryan Castle. Castle has only been in the IWA a short few months but he has already racked up quite a favorable record. His only glaring defeat has been at the hands of former IWA Hvwt. champ – Chris Cruit. But Castle feels he is ready for the challenge of capturing the U.S. belt. Ramsey on the other hand seems to not be to worried. His only comment on being challenged by Castle: “I’ve fought better,” he stated.

Just added to this event with be a IWA Cruiserweight contest as Charlie Brown will be getting his opportunity to capture the title from the champ, Pete News. Will Brown prove to have what it takes?

DO NOT MISS THIS BIG IWA EVENT!!!

Thursday March 4th – the Backstage (47 S. Paint St. Chillicothe Ohio) 7:30 Belltime.

Tickets just $8 in advance. Adv. tickets available at the Backstage and Renicks Restaurant. Seats $10 at the door on show night. Kids under 10 are FREE!

IWA Returns to The Backstage on 1/21/10

Posted: January 7, 2010

The International Wrestling Alliance presents – New Blood 2010. Thursday night, January 21, 2010, at the Backstage (47 South Paint St.) in Chillicothe, Ohio. 7:30 Bell time.

The IWA is Ohio’s longest running professional wrestling promotion and has presented many of wrestling’s biggest names over the past two plus decades. But we realize that there is always room for some new blood to liven things up. So thus we are presenting what we think will become an annual IWA event, IWA New Blood. This event will give the newcomers to the IWA a chance to face off against some top IWA stars. A chance like this could propel a IWA newbie into the top rung of stars. Or it could prove that the newcomer is just a flash in the pan. Carears are definitely at steak here.

Already signed:

IWA Cruiserweight Champion PETE NEWS will square off against CHARLIE BROWN. Brown has had a limited number of matches here in the IWA over the past month, but he has already proven himself to be a tough and popular performer. It is even rumored News is upset about the amount of fan interest in Brown. Maybe even to the point NEWS would like to teach the newcomer a lesson or two. He will get his chance to prove Brown is nothing special when the two square off on January 21, 2010 in this non title clash.

Another Cruiserweight clash on January 21 will feature newcomer B.D. FIELDS, as he takes on SID ANGEL This will be a true clash of wrestling bad boys. Angel has a reputation as someone who likes to hurt people. Fact is many IWA Cruiserweights have left the promotion in order to avoid being matched against Angel. But Fields, who briefly felt Angel’s wrath in a resent gauntlet match, seems to have no fear. In fact he gave Angel back everything he took in the gauntlet contest. This match will be to prove who is really the IWA’s most dangerous Cruiserweight. Who will get the bragging rights? And this match may determine who will be getting future Cruiserweight title matches as well.

What Angel and Fields are to the Cruiserweights, ROK WYLER is to the Heavyweights. The man is just bad news. Rough and tough for sure. But he will have his hands full when he squares off against DEVON MAXIMUS. The two wrestlers have already been feuding in the tag team ranks but this would be their first one on one confrontation. Will the newcomer Maximus prove to be too much for the long time IWA’er, the Mad Dog, Rok Wyler? We will see.

Long time IWA manager turned wrestler, DR. DAVID LANNING, may have his hands full when he takes on IWA newcomer, DICK NASTY. As a manager, Lanning was not above reaching into the bottom of the barrel to pull out some underhanded tricks. But he has since changed his ways as a wrestler. Will Lanning have to turn back the hands of time and fight fire with fire when he faces the underhanded Dick Nasty?

For those of U who have been watching IWA Carnage TV over at iwawrestling.com, well you know all about the upcoming match between The Franchise Player, CHRIS CRUIT,and the 325lb NEW AGE PATRIOT, BRIAN CASTLE. Castle confronted Cruit right on Carnage and told him he thought his title was worthless (Cruit commissioned his own title belt and is billing himself as The Real Champion). Obviously this did not set to well with Cruit who promptly slapped Castle in the face. Will IWA newcomer Castle prove to have the guns to humble Cruit? Or will he himself be humbled?

All this and much more will be on hand for IWA New Blood come January 21, 2010. Tickets are just $8.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door. Advance tickets available at the Backstage or Renick’s Restaurant. Kids under 10 are FREE!!!

Its great fun for the whole family. We hope to see you there.

Results – IWA: Night of Champions 7 – 11/05/09

Posted: November 9, 2009

The mighty IWA rolled into Chillicothe Ohio on November 7, 2009 and tore down the house with Night of Champions 7.

The IWA’s Night of Champions is an annual event meant to celebrate our history as Ohio’s oldest, continual, professional wrestling promotion. A birthday party, if you will. The IWA has been around since 1988.

In the opening contest WILD BULL MILLER and JERRY THE GAITER defended their Tag Team Championships against THE JUDGE and DR. DAVID LANNING. It was more than clear that despite holding the titles with Gaiter, Bull is not a Gaiter fan. Often calling on Gaiter to cheat. But the lovable Gaiter steadfastly refused. In the end Bull gave Gaiter a foreign object to use on Lanning and The Judge. However before Gaiter could put the object to use the ref seen Gaiter with it and promptly disqualified the tag champions. Thus the titles did not change hands.

In a three way Capture The Flag Match for the Cruiserweight belt, PETE NEWS was able to keep his crown when he scurried up the pole to get the flag to defeat SID ANGEL and EVAN DANIELS.

The next match was suposed to be a Number One Contenders match for the tag team titles. However, do to illness, BIG COUNTRY CHRIS HICKOCK was unable to appear and his regular tag partner, ROK WYLER, instead teamed with MATT AWESOME. The two put in a losing effort against the team of ADRENALIN – X, RELENTLESS RON MATHIS and DEVIN MAXIMUS. After the match Rok Wyler viciously attacked Awesome for losing the match for his team.

The next title contest was a Three Way Dace for the United States Championship. Champion CHAD CRUISE was able to hold off RICK RAMSEY and M. E. HOWERTON and retain his laurels after scoring a pin on Howerton.

Seeing double duty was MATT AWESOME, who squared off against DERIK FLYNT. This time Awesome’s luck was a little better than in his earlyer tag match and he was able to score a pin fall victory.

The main event featured The black superman – ONYX, defending his IWA Hvwt. Title against the number one contender – CRANIAL DAMAGE CHRIS CRUIT. WWE Hall of Fammer, GREG VALENTINE was supposed to be the special enforcer ref in the contest however Valentine was not able to make his agreed upon appearance. This led to UFC fighter and current Ultimate Fighter TV star, WES SIMS, agreed to officiate the match. At one point the match still got out of hand when Cruit’s RIOT SQUAD partner, BULL MILLER, interfered, breaking up a Onyx pin attempt. As ref Sims was trying to get Miller out of the ring Cruit hit Sims from behind with a steele chair. Unfortunately by the time Sims was able to get his composure Onyx had gotten the chair away from Cruit and Sims thought Onyx had clobbered him. As Onyx and Sims argued Cruit was able to get Onyx from behind and scored the pin on Onyx after an extremely fast Wes Sims three count. Cruit thought he had won the title when head referee BUD HATTERY hit the ring, overruled Sims fast count and restarted the match. Ultimately Onyx was able to score a pin fall and retain his title in this highly controversial match.

The IWA would like to thank all our Superstars, all those who work so hard behind the scenes, as well as all our fans for supporting us. Night of Champions # 7 was truly a great event.

The mighty IWA will return to Chillicothe Ohio’s Backstage on December 3rd with Seasons Beatings. Stay tuned for more information.

This past Thursday night was another WILD night of IWA Wrestling as our Superstars invaded The Backstage in Chillicothe, Ohio for this annual event.

The first match out of the shoot seen The Faceless Soldier take on Genuine Jock Samson. Samson, who has been on a winning streak as of late, proved to be to much for the patriotic newcomer as he scored the pen and the victory.

Cruiserweight action had Evan Daniels emerge victorious over Nick Abbott.

Otto Von Boogiemister, Jock Samson (seeing double duty), Mosey and Ricky Lee Stonerock all squared of in a four way Money In The Bank Match. In the end Boogiemiester was able to pull of a pen on Stonerock. This victory will allow Boogiemiester to make any match of his choosing in the next six months.

In what many considered an upset wrestling’s one legged wonder – Zack Gowen defeated Rick Ramsey to capture the IWA Cruiserweight championship.

The IWA United States Title was on the line as Chillicothe’s own, Chad Cruise, challenged M. E. Howerton for the gold. In what has to be considered the match of the night Cruise was able to capture Howerton in a Ankle Lock and with just seconds to go was able to get the submission and become the new champion.

Brady Land was up next with Brady interviewing the new Cruiserweight champion – Zack Gowen. Gowen was telling the fans how honored he was to be sporting the IWA belt when Commissioner Chris Serious made his way to the ring. Serious told everyone he had been looking to make some changes in the Cruiserweight division. He pointed out that the 220 pound weight limit was not exactly fare to the smaller wrestlers in the division. He then announced he was lowering the Cruiserweight weight limit to 199 pounds. Thus making Gowen to heavy to defend the title. Serious announced he was stripping Gowen of the belt and would be sanctioning a Cruiserweight ladder match to crown a new champion when the IWA returns to Chillicothe on August 6th.

In the main event two sets of IWA Superstars stepped into the sixteen foot high steel cage. One side seen the team of Bad News, Rok Wyler and the Riot Squad’s Bull Miller and Chris Cruit. The other team consisted of Dr. David Lanning, King Randy Allen, The Judge, the maniacal J.T. Hogg and the current IWA Hvwt. champion – Onyx. The rules was simple. Two men started the contest. Then every one minute an other man was allowed to enter the cage til all ten men was inside. Then anyone could be submitted or penned to be eliminated. The first team to have a man climb over the top of the cage and get to the arena floor would be declared the victors.

Chris Cruit and David Lanning started the match for their respective teams. As the ring filled up with IWA Superstars the action became very hot and heated. Bodys was slammed into the steel cage and the blood flew. Finally though it came down to just three men, Chris Cruit, Rok Wyler and Onyx. Cruit and Wyler immediately teamed up to work over Onyx. However Onyx was able to hit a Spear on Cruit and both men was down. As Onyx was getting to his feet Rok Wyler was waiting for him and clobbered him with his boot that he had removed. As Onyx and Rok Wyler fought Cruit was able to clime up over the cage and capture the victory for his team.

But this was not the end of the action. Rok Wyler and Onyx continued to fight in the cage. They was ordered to stop but refused to do so. Finally several of the IWA Superstars ran to the ring to break the two apart. It took several minutes but they was eventually separated and the night of action was over.

We would like to thank all the IWA wrestlers who gave their all to make this an exciting event. We also would like to thank all those who worked behind the scene to help us pull the event off. Without them this show would not have been possible.

Results – IWA at The Backstage – 2/5/09

Posted: February 12, 2009

The International Wrestling Alliance once again returned to The Backstage in Chillicothe, OH on Thursday February 5, 2009 for another amazing show. If you missed it, here’s what went down…

In the opening contest, REAL DEAL BRICE BENNETT defeated THE MASKED NINJA, by pin-fall.

RICK RAMSEY won over THE KID.

BRADY WEST presented an episode of BRADY LAND featuring IWA commissioner CHRIS SERIOUS. Serious told the crowd that in his effort to improve the mighty IWA he had went back to our past and signed one of our all time greatest stars. He then brought out BIG COUNTRY, CHRIS HICKOCK. COUNTRY came out and shook every ones hands. BRADY WEST then announced that he too, acting as a assistant commissioner, had reached back into IWA history and in fact had resigned a former IWA star. He then brought out ROC WIELER. As both the commissioners felt they had signed the better talent SERIOUS announced he was making a match between WIELER and COUNTRY to prove who was better. COUNTRY and ROC WIELER argued they was really true friends and actually tag team partners, and did not want to face each other. Even BRADY WEST agreed
it may be a bad idea to make them wrestle each other. However
Commissioner SERIOUS insisted on making the match.

The two actually had a pretty competitive match for about ten minutes. ROC WIELER then defeated BIG COUNTRY when COUNTRY obviously just layed down to get pinned.

In one of the IWA’s hottest feuds as of late, OTTO VON BOOGIEMISTER defeated JOCK SAMPSON. SAMPSON literally exploded after the loss saying, “He could not believe he lost to a man who used make up.” Jack then said BOOGIEMISTER was no better than a lady. This brought out commissioner SERIOUS who said if SAMPSON thought BOOGIEMISTER was so feminine he was going to make another match between them. SERIOUS then announced that when the IWA returns to Chillicothe next month SAMPSON would once again wrestle BOOGIEMISTER, this time, in a Loser Wheres a Dress match.

In six man tag action THE MASKED RUSSIAN MAFIA with RIC RAGE defeated. THE JUDGE, KING RANDY ALLEN and JOE JOE LITTLE, when M.E. HOWERTON interfered and caused LITTLE to be pinned by RUSSIAN MAFIA # 1.

CHAD CRUISE kept his winning streak intact since returning to the IWA by pinning SID ANGEL.

2 ON 3 HANDICAP MATCH: THE RIOT SQUAD team of BULL MILLER, CHRIS CRUIT and M.E. HOWERTON emerged victorious over the black Superman – ONYX and DIRK EXTREME. MILLER got the pin fall on ONYX after ONYX’s own partner, DIRK EXTREME, hit him in the head with a championship belt, temporarily knocking him out cold. Earlier on in the match there was an altercation between former RIOT SQUAD manager, DR. DAVID LANNING and M.E. HOWERTON. LANNING had pulled HOWERTON off the side of the ring and HOWERTON was threatening LANNING when JOE JOE LITTLE came out to ringside. LITTLE and LANNING ended up chasing HOWERTON into the dressing room area.

IWA Commissioner, CHRIS SERIOUS, has ordered a match between ONYX and EXTREME when we return to Chillicothe Ohio on March 5th. ONYX’s IWA title will be on the line.

We would like to thank all the IWA SUPERSTARS as well as our fans who made this a great night of wrestling. We would also like to thank all the SUPER people who worked behind the scenes. Without them what we do would not be possible.
