In a company-wide email, Brian Grachek stated “The extensive interview process is over and the position of image consultant has been filled.” Grachek is being tight-lipped on who has been hired, but says he will introduce he or she live and in person on Thursday, July 16th when Hybrid Wrestling returns to the Ghostly Manor in Sandusky, Ohio.

The unnamed, new image consultant is taking immediate action. In the email it stated that “Johnny Cockstrong has been ordered to stay home and that he’s ‘banned’ from any and all events under the ‘family friendly’ banner.”

“A superhero whose superpowers come from his genitalia is not the image this company wants to project,” says Brian Grachek.

HybridWrestling.com has made several attempts to contact Johnny Cockstrong for comment but was unsuccessful.

Fontaine Named #1 Contender – Declines Match

Make no mistake about it, Marion Fontaine is the #1 contender for Dave Cole’s Hybrid Wrestling Championship, however, he has declined two different offers from Hybrid management.

Fontaine has turned down the opportunity to challenge Dave Cole for the Hybrid Wrestling Championship on July 16th at “Damage Control” as well as August 15th at “Pandora’s Box”. Instead Fontaine wants his shot on the biggest event of the year, Theory of Evolution.

There is no official word from Hybrid management regarding Fontaine’s request or how this will affect the cards for “Damage Control” in Sandusky or “Pandora’s Box” in Fremont.

Hybrid Wrestling is on Damage Control & More

There has been a debate over the past two and a half years about the Hybrid Wrestling product. Recently this has become somewhat of a hot topic on different message boards. There are those who feel the company needs to clean up its fans, its image, and the product as a whole. Apparently Brian Grachek agrees.

After a very successful debut at the Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, Grachek as decided to market these events as “family friendly”.
“This change isn’t going to happen over night. But it’s a change that I’m committed to.” Brian Grachek told HybridWrestling.com.

To help make the transition an easier one, Brian Grachek is looking for an image consultant. Those interested in this position can apply by submitting their resume through the HybridWrestling.com contact page.

Also, in somewhat related news (we think), Hybrid Wrestling has announced that they will be having the first ever women’s match in the history of the company. Hailey Hatred will take on TNA’s Madison Rayne (formerly Ashley Lane) at Hybrid Wrestling’s Damage Control on July 16, 2009 at the Ghostly Manor Thrill Center in Sandusky, OH.

Dave Cole defends the Hybrid Championship in Jersey City

Hybrid Wrestling and Jersey All Pro Wrestling are happy to announce that the current Hybrid Wrestling Champion Dave Cole will defend his title against Brian Lyndon on April 18, 2009 in Jersey City.

“We are extremely excited about introducing our product to the East Coast in person.” said Brian Grachek. When asked about the decision of who would face Dave Cole, Grachek said, “Christian Faith, Marion Fontaine, and Brian Lyndon all deserve a shot at the title and it was a hard decision. Lyndon put on a show stealing performance in the ladder match and has one of the best win-lose records in the company, so in the interest of fairness he was given the nod.”

How will this effect Project Mayhem 2009? “Christopher Daniels will be in the main event of Project Mayhem and he will challenge either Dave Cole or Brian Lyndon for the Hybrid Championship. As far as the loser of that match goes, I have something special in mind.” Grachek said.
When asked what he has in mind, laughingly Grachek said, “The first rule of Project Mayhem is you do not talk about Project Mayhem.”

Josh Prohibition & Starless Released from Hybrid

Hybrid Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Starless and Josh Prohibition. Hybrid Wrestling wishes them the best in all their future endeavors.

HybridWrestling.com broke the story regarding Starless’ future being in question, so this doesn’t come as much of a surprise. That can not be said about the departure of Josh Prohibition.

Those whom we have spoken to, say they are not surprised by Prohibition’s departure, just that it wasn’t made official sooner. Sources close to Brian Grachek have told HybridWrestling.com that Prohibition has been in the dog house since the first day he was promoted to interim Power Of Attorney.

In August the groundwork was started to have Josh Prohibition enter a program with Vincent Nothing heading into Theory of Evolution: Championship Edition. However, those plans were scraped after Josh Prohibition “no showed” The Wild Card where he was booked in the main event. A quote we keep hearing is “He (Grachek) doesn’t want anyone here who doesn’t want to be here”.

Brian Grachek’s no nonsense approach has been a little bit of a rocky transition for some. Everyone we have talked to seems to have a great deal of respect for Grachek, but feel he can be overzealous and tends to make rash emotional decisions. It’s going to be interesting to see what the next couple of months have in store for Brian Grachek, seeing that his 6 month evaluation is coming up in April 2009.
