EGO Training Facility Now Accepting New Students

Do you live in the Dayton, Ohio area? Have you ever wanted to see your name up in lights? Have you ever wanted to smash a steel chair in to your bosses face?! Have you ever wanted to be involved in the pro wrestling family? Well, now is your chance!

Classes now forming weekly at the EGO PRO WRESTLING/ROCK AND WRESTLING training facility in Dayton’s Historic Oregon District. Training consist of learning the pro wrestling business from the ground up. From mat & chain wrestling to high spots & show stopping moves. We teach in-ring & locker room etiquette, weightlifting, cardio and nutrition. The class is one year, meeting twice a week for two hours on Sundays & Tuesdays, 7:30pm – 9:30pm. EPW/RnW also teaches ladies, managers/valets and referees.

At EPW/RnW you will have the opportunity to learn from one of the best trainers in the Tri-State area: Cody Hawk. Cody has been teaching pro wrestling for the past 8 years and has produced most of the name talent to come out of Cincinnati/Dayton. His wrestling resume is long and very well respected. He was the head trainer for HWA out of Cincinnati for 6 years and produced nothing but the best talent. His students have gone on to be featured in wrestling publications, national TV shows, overseas promotions, ROH, TNA and WWE. Cody was the main man behind the scenes in keeping HWA up & running and being the best promotion in the Midwest. After selling HWA, Cody opened up EPW in Dayton, Ohio. He has been involved in the wrestling business for nearly 15 years. EPW/RnW also brings in great independent & national talent to work with.

Downtown Bar Turns Into Wrestling Ring

DAYTON — In the ring, Ben Kimera is a bad guy, the kind who might smack you with a metal chair.

But in the basement of Club Aquarius downtown, as the hulking Detroit man picks through the contents of his suitcase or slicks back his blond hair, he seems anything but evil. Polite and friendly, Kimera was one of a dozen or so professional wrestlers who’d come to Dayton to face off in the ring Saturday, Feb. 28, at Rock ‘n’ Wrestling.

Unlike some independent wrestlers, Kimera said he makes a living at the sport, participating in a dozen or so matches per month. He enjoys pro wrestling in part because it offers a modern version of a simple morality play — good versus evil.

And even though he’s a bad guy, he also appreciates the e-mails and other contact he gets from fans, he said.

In the ring, Andre Heart bills himself as “Sweet Sexy Sensation” and he wrestles because he loves to entertain the crowd, he said.

The 27-year-old Cincinnati man said he has been wrestling professionally for two years, competing in rings in high school gyms, armories and garages. During his career, he said he has wrestled all over Ohio as well as in venues in Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Kentucky and Illinois and even refereed matches for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) organization.

Heart was slated to wrestle against his former teacher, Cody Hawk, the owner of Ego Pro Wrestling, the organization that put on Saturday’s event.

Hawk, a pro-wrestling veteran of 14 years, said preparations for turning the club into a wrestling arena began early in the afternoon, with he and a few others bringing the 18-foot-by-18-foot ring from his house to the club. After the matches were finished, he said, he and some of the others would tear down the ring, haul it home and celebrate.

EGO Pro Wrestling Returns on 2/28/09

Hey fans, we’ll have more details to come as we get closer to the date, but we just wanted to give you a heads up that EGO Pro Wrestling will be returning on Saturday February 28, 2009 at 9:00 PM at The Aquarius in Dayton, OH!

This will be a Rock N’ Wrestling show, featuring performances by LegBone and The Black Cigarettes.

Update on the Status of EGO Pro Wrestling

EPW fans,

First off, thank you all for for the support you have given EPW over the past few years. Fans have been asking about the staus of our weekly Tuesday Night Showcase shows. As you know, times are a little tough and with the financial state of the land right now, we just had to suspend operations for a little bit. We don’t want to put on subpar shows or disappoint our loyal fans. We are hoping to get another show going at some point. We will keep you up to date here on the MySpace page! Thanks!

Not dead, just on hiatus!!!! Think of it as a Winter hibernation.
