BPW’s 3/22/09 Show Has Been Canceled

Posted: March 17, 2009

Hey all. We just received this from BPW’s Shark Boy. It seems that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Buckeye Pro Wrestling show that was scheduled for March 22, 2009 has been canceled…

Dear BPW Fans,

First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you for the love and support you have shown me over the past couple of weeks. Your thoughts and prayers have been a big comfort to me and I want you to know it has meant the world to me and I thank you.

For those of you who haven’t heard the news yet, this Sunday’s BPW event has officially been canceled. Club Destiny, the venue used by BPW since the very first show, is now under new management and they have begun renovations that will make providing a wrestling show impossible. I am told the floors have already been “ripped up” as part of the process, so setting up a ring and chairs would be virtually impossible to do.

BPW apologizes for the inconvenience and promises to return to Middletown in the near future; and I want to personally apologize to BPW fans for robbing them of the pleasure of watching me beat Eddie Gonzales into a pulp. I also promise to do so in the near future.

Until the next event, thank you all for your support and keep an eye on www.BuckeyeProWrestling.com for future developments.

SHELL YEAH!

BPW Returns to Middletown, OH on 3/22/09

Posted: February 7, 2009

BPW Co-Owner Dean Baldwin has announced that the next BPW event, March Mayhem, is coming up Sunday, March 22nd, at Club Destiny (formerly Zodiacs) in Middletown, OH.

In the main event Shark Boy will defend his BPW Heavyweight Championship against number one contender Eddie Gonzales, who earned the title shot at Halloween Horrors in October. Gonzales, a former tag team champion himself, outlasted an incredible 21 opponents in a Weapons Battle Royal to get this chance at the top BPW honors.

This will be Shark Boy’s third title defense since winning the BPW championship in 2007. He’s already overcome both Dave and Jake Crist, two of the toughest competitors in the business. But Eddie Gonzales has the advantage of being a Shark Tank graduate — he was personally taught wrestling techniques and strategies by Shark Boy himself.

Does Gonzales know enough about Shark Boy’s game to take the BPW gold? Or will Shark Boy’s years of experience help him carry the BPW title into 2009?

Join us at March Mayhem to find out! Stay tuned for information – this is one you don’t want to miss!

Stay tuned for updates as more matches are announced, and be sure to reserve your tickets early!

Results – BPW: Halloween Horrors – 10/19/08

Posted: November 21, 2008

Thanks to the support of our loyal fans, BPW’s annual Halloween Horrors was a huge success!

Eddie Gonzales survived the 22-man Weapons Battle Royal, outlasting nearly the entire BPW roster and becoming the new #1 contender to the BPW Heavyweight title. Also competing were Ala Hussein, Scary Garry, Will Jones, Todd Mullins, Darrell Hazel, Donny Redd, Tony X, Jake Simmons, Brian Beech, Big Jim Hutchinson, Punk Rock Rebellion, Tom Bellman, Ganger, Johnny Lawnjob, Dave Crist, Cody Hawk, Jerrod West, Sgt. Ledbetter and Dustin Thomas.

But even after the win, Ed’s mouth just kept writing checks that even his girlfriend couldn’t cash. After Ed and Heather Owens disrespected BPW Champ Shark Boy™ one too many times, Heather ended up on the receiving end of a chummer as Ed ran for the dressing room.

Shark Boy™ successfully defended the BPW Heavyweight title against Jake Crist. Fortunately Shark didn’t also have to defend against Cody Hawk and Dave Crist this time, because BPW co-owner Dean Baldwin had barred them from ringside. With Hawk and Dave out of the way, Jake was forced to use his considerable in-ring skills… but it just wasn’t enough on this night, and Shark Boy™ extended his title reign to nearly a full year and counting.

Nick Dinsmore’s chance at Cody Hawk was nearly declared a “no contest,” after Dave Crist interfered and then was called on it in the ring by an irate Jerrod West. As West and Crist brawled, referee Joe Kopasz appeared to be ready to throw out the match entirely. But Commissioner Shawn Stidham appeared, warning that it wasn’t going to be so easy for Hawk to get out of this contest. Instead, Stidham restarted the match as a tag team bout with Dinsmore and West facing Hawk and Dave Crist. Still, just as Dinsmore seemed ready to score a win, Jake Crist interfered and forced the referee to disqualify his team. Dinsmore suffered a knee injury in the attack which kept him out of the Weapons Battle Royal, so no doubt he’ll be ready to get even the next time we see him in BPW!

In the Texas Tornado Tag Team title match, Todd Mullins & Donny Redd nearly pulled off a victory over champs Dustin Thomas & Tom Bellman, the Twin Peaks. Redd had Bellman pinned for at least a 3-count, but referee John Ruben was busy with Thomas’ submission attempt on Mullins and didn’t see the fall. Eventually Mullins had to tap, allowing the champs to retain the titles. Though this was an agonizing blow to the former champions, they’ve vowed to keep at it until the BPW tag team gold is around their waists again.

Big Darrell Hazel became the latest victim of Ed Gonzales’ and Heather Owens’ cheating ways, with Owens playing a big role in Gonzales’ win over Hazel. Even after the dishonest victory, Ed added insult to injury by attacking Hazel after the bell. Fortunately Jake Simmons was nearby to help out before Gonzales could inflict too much more damage.

BPW fans saw a new tag team win their first match, as Ganger and Tony X defeated Sgt. Ledbetter and Jake Simmons. As usual Ganger added his own style to the pinfall on Simmons, using his feet on the ropes for leverage. Nevertheless this team has now made the BPW ratings as the #3 tag team, so it remains to be seen if they climb the tag team ladder in 2009.

New BPW Ratings

Following Halloween Horrors, BPW Officials have announced surprising new rankings for the BPW roster. Most shockingly, Jerrod West has bumped Jake Crist from the coveted #1 contender spot. In fact Jake moves down to #3 thanks to Dustin Thomas, who earned himself a #2 ranking. Nick Dinsmore also joined the ratings for the first time, as did the tag team of Ganger and Tony X.
