Not much is known about the new promotion gearing up for its 2011 Launch, RIOT Pro Wrestling. The only thing known is that RIOT stands for Revolutionary Ideal of Tradition and the promoter and people behind the scenes have remained mum on their plans and their identity as of now. But here at WrestleOhio we have learned a few more facts about this mysterious promotion.
We received the following press release from their e-mail riot.boardofdirectors@gmail.com:
RIOT Pro Wrestling Set to Restore Honor to The Clermont/Hamilton Region!
From the Board of Directors
Hello, we here at RIOT want to share some of our motives for launching a new group in the greater Cincinnati area and shine some light on the mystery that has become RIOT Pro Wrestling. The company is founded by a group of pro-wrestling “insiders” who have grown tired of the backstage politics and unfriendly atmosphere that has seemed to have taken over Ohio Pro-Wrestling.
Now don’t get us wrong, there are still great promotions and great promoters out there and we are not attacking anyone by name or calling any promotion out. We just feel that the once great tradition of Pro-Wrestling has fallen to the side and been replaced by certain aspects of this business that we no longer wish to be a part of.
RIOT (Revolutionary Ideal of Tradition) is just that. We wish to restore Tradition and Honor to Pro-Wrestling in the Clermont/Hamilton region. A region that was once the hotbed of pro-wrestling. Its an area that many groups have tried to launch in and failed over the past few years. While our goals may be high we are going about this from a business like perspective.
We don’t plan on entering the Cincinnati area until the right time. Right now Cincinnati wrestling is over saturated with wrestling promotions all claiming to be the Queen City’s number one promotion. We understand that to debut in this location and try to run here on a weekly or monthly basis would be next to impossible.
We understand the need to use real workers on our shows and not anybody who can afford a pair of tights and or their own wrestling ring. We know that many unqualified workers have found their way onto cards in the past few years which in turn has led to low ticket sells and an Athletic Commission that seems less and less willing to work with actual promoters with in the state.
At RIOT we will pride ourselves in the level of talent we will be introducing to a new audience and some old faces that fans in this region haven’t seen in a good while.
So, we are close to announcing our launch date and we hope the fans in this region are ready to watch us grow and evolve alongside them…giving them what they need. A place they can bring the entire family and enjoy a night of high impact pro-wrestling. We hope the workers come and realize what we are, a fun place where they can cut loose with no backstage politics.
RIOT is ready to start a grass roots revolution in Ohio…are you the fans ready for a return to Tradition? We hope so. Stay tuned right here at this news outlet or over at our face book page at www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001534883352.

Back at King of Trios, we ignited a firestorm when we unveiled the trailer for our upcoming video game, Rudo Resurrection before the CHIKARA faithful.
Since then, thousands more have checked out the trailer on YouTube, and interest has been building at a feverish rate.
Today, we are proud to announce that CHIKARA, in partnership with Rogue Brains, have begun the production of Rudo Resurrection, intended for release later this year. We couldn’t be more pleased to have found a development team that not only understands and respects CHIKARA’s take on pro-wrestling, but also embraces the greater mythology our microcosm hosts. Rogue Brains is an up-and-coming team of industry professionals that have several years experience working on video games, comic books and other forms of entertainment.
CHIKARA: Rudo Resurrection utilizes the Unity 3D game engine, which gives us access to a wide array of gaming platforms. More information on exactly which platforms will carry the game will be confirmed closer to the game’s release date. Fans have inundated us with emails, asking what they can expect from the game. While we’re not ready to say too much just yet, it’s safe to say that Rudo Resurrection is less of a wrestling game and more of a story-driven action game that harkens back to some arcade favorites from decades past.
As seen in the video trailer, CHIKARA: Rudo Resurrection will feature a number of zombified personalities from CHIKARA’s rich past, but the game’s landscape is populated with far more characters than what can be seen in the trailer. At the heart of the action is the conflict between longtime CHIKARA favorites and the despised Bruderschaft des Kreuzes, while a Who’s Who from CHIKARA’s history are reanimated to take part in the fracas! Whether or not the macabre UltraMantis Black can maintain control over his undead army is key to the unfolding story, as the player attempts to unlock more and more characters to join the fight.
Our partners at Rogue Brains have created www.chikaravideogame.com as the homebase for the game, and updates will begin to appear there on a weekly basis, leading to the game’s release.

CHIKARA has partnered with some like-minded gaming trailblazers to create “Rudo Resurrection,” a new video game currently in pre-production, set for release later this year! This story-driven game takes full advantage of the ever-deepening CHIKARA mythology, and features the macabre UltraMantis Black as he re-animates characters from CHIKARA’s storied past. We’re proud to announce “Rudo Resurrection” is coming to multiple gaming platforms in 2010, and more information about this highly-anticipated project will follow, but for now, we want to confirm that the first three playable characters in the game will be none other than Fire Ant, Soldier Ant and Green Ant of The Colony!
