“The Boss” Sean Bossman started off the show with the National Anthem and reminded everyone of the upcoming “Hot August Fight” being held at the DAV Hall in Middletown on the 28th. He mentioned the Street Fight between “The Frontman” Evan Da Malice and Shomari, the DWA Internet Title match between the champion Virus taking on his former friend Idol Heinze and that WWE Legend Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake and the DWA World Champion Vic the Bruiser will be on hand.
Soon after that, Sgt. Ledbetter came to the ring for his match and snatched the mic away and started berating the crowd as usual. After this, his opponent was announced as Dewey Brown. These guys worked a good match in the blazing heat, even though the sun was setting in the west. But all it took was Ledbetter capturing Dewey in an airplane spin and a neck breaker to garner the 1-2-3.
Next out was the tag team Purple Reign, though only The S.I. was working this singles match. His opponent was announced to be the DWA Internet Title holder, Virus. This was a match-up of two of the best high-flyers on the DWA roster and they showed it in the sweltering heat this night. Even PT attempted to get a few licks in as well but Virus was able to overcome it all and by using his famous double stomp off the top rope, captured the pinfall to retain his title.
“The Colonel” Jonathan James made his way out, to the dismay of the crowd, and was in a visible bad mood. He has for months now, tried to rid the DWA of his main nemesis, Evan Da Malice. He told the crowd that the events of last year’s fair would not be repeated and about the upcoming Street Fight and mentioned that neither Shomari nor “The Showcase” were there that evening, “But I always have a plan,” he told them. He had purchased the services of a man who was going to soften up Da Malice for Shomari and called to the ring, Abdullah the Butcher Jr. After “The Frontman” was introduced, the match began but did not bode well for The Colonel as the use of a chair backfired and Evan picked up the win.
To say James was livid would be an understatement. He promptly fired his charge and told the fans that like he said earlier in the night, he always had a plan and called more men out. As Purple Reign and Ledbetter emerged from the back, James climbed into the ring and stomped onto the Butcher, releasing a mountain of anger upon him. Security surrounded the ring as all 4 attacked the big man and this enabled an elderly fan to slip in with a chair and began swinging it, striking the security guys and James. The Sheriff’s Dept. quickly subdued the man and pulled him away. The Colonel flew into a rage about the lax security again and lit into DWA founder Johnny Diamond. By this time, Da Malice came back out and had Brown and Virus with him. Colonel asked why he was there and that his team could beat those three easily. As Evan made a challenge, James’ new army circled around and began to leave until Diamond said that there WOULD be a 6-man match as the Main Event.
Once order was restored, the 6-man match began as Dewey and PT were the first ones in. Though each man entered the fray at one time or another, Brown and PT worked most of the match. Ledbetter and Purple Reign cut Brown off from his teammates for most of the contest as they took turns slaughtering the kid. But once Dewey was able to make a tag, it was a donnybrook that ended when Ledbetter and Purple Reign walked away and was counted out. So the victory was given to the team of Dewey Brown, DWA Internet Title holder Virus and “The Frontman” Evan Da Malice.
