Last night was a great show for the Dynamic Wrestling Alliance as the fans at the 73 Skate Club in Trenton,OH got to see a new championship begin, a friendship crumble, a new alliance emerge and alot of great action.

To start off the show, “The Boss” Sean Bossman, called the founder of the DWA, Johnny Diamond, to the ring. Diamond proceeded to complain about the lapse of the security team to contain both the wrestlers and the fans. In Middletown two weeks ago and the Skate Club last month, there had been too much close interaction between the fans and the wrestlers, mainly The Colonel and Shomari, as they sent many of the younger fans running from their seats due to fright. Diamond called T.J., head of security, to the ring and verbally berated him as T.J. told him they would redeem themselves tonight.

After Boss sang the anthem, he announced the formation and 4-man tournament for the new Dynamic Wrestling Alliance Internet Championship. The four men competing would be Virus, Idol Heinze, “The Showcase” Brett Michaels and Sgt. Ledbetter.

The first match-up would pit a rematch from last month’s Rumble at the Rink, Virus vs. The Showcase (w/The Colonel). Both competitors looked good early on and James got his licks in when Virus was tossed outside. Virus missed an elbow from the top and then Michaels did the same. But as Virus went for a cover, The Colonel jumped up and tossed a foreign object toward Brett like last month. Though this time Virus got it away and used it himself and got the pin as the ref turned around. James was livid as Virus celebrated to advance to the finals.

The second semi-final match was a rematch from Homecoming in Middletown as Idol Heinze faced The Sarge, Sgt. Ledbetter. These guys resumed their feud and matched the physicality from their Middletown match. But in the end, Heinze hit a Cross-body on Ledbetter, only to have Sarge reverse it, roll him up and grab the tights to advance to the tournament finals.

The next match saw The Beast from the Congo, Shomari (w/Col. Jonathan James) take on the newest member of the DWA Roster, Kharn Alexander. The muscular Kharn tried early on to match strength with Shomari, but was quickly repelled, as was most of his offense. The colonel spent most of his time outside the ring berating the kid. Shomari hit all his usual moves on his smaller opponent but it was a Cross-body Splash from the top rope that led to his victory.

After intermission was the finals to crown the first ever DWA Internet Champion. Sgt. Ledbetter was greeted in the ring by a loud round of boos from the 100 or so fans in attendance and then had to endure the cheers from the very same as Virus made his way to the ring. Both competitors fought gallantly for the right to be called the first Internet Champion. Ledbetter got the upper hand and was going to end it by Power-Bombing Virus. Virus reversed it and flipped over Sarge into a Sunset Flip and held him for the pinfall and the title.

As he celebrated, Virus’ best friend Idol Heinze entered to seemingly celebrate with him. But he attacked him and he and Ledbetter double-teamed him. Ledbetter grabbed the mic and announced that he and Heinze were joining forces and that the “Army of Destiny” was a force to be reckoned with.

That brings us to the main event. Purple Reign were announced first and they strutted their way there. Then after Trice was announced, the music for the DWA World Champion, Vic the Bruiser, played. But the champ never came out. Trice grabbed the mic and called him out himself but to no avail. Then the music for “The Frontman” Evan Da Malice played and he made his way out and told Trice he would be his partner tonight. The match was started and the fans stayed glued to the edge of theirs seats for this one. Da Malice hit his Samoan Drop and a Spinebuster on The S.I. and tagged in Trice. As Trice hoisted S.I. on his shoulders for a version of the Doomsday Device and Da Malice climbed the turnbuckles, Shomari, Showcase and the Colonel emerged from the back. Moments after security did their job and prevented them from reaching the ring, Evan hit a Senton onto the whole group, scattering them like bowling pins and eventually ending up on top of James. Meanwhile in the ring, S.I. rolled forward, catching Trice in a Victory Roll for the pin.

A return to 73 Skate Club was not announced, only the upcoming shows at the Hamilton County Fair on August 13 and 14 and at the DAV in Middletown on August 28, 2010.
