It’s time once again for PHYSICAL DISTORTION to produce havoc in RCW. During intermission we will also feature a fun Easter Egg Hunt for the kids with RCW prizes! Physical Distortion 2010 will emanate this year from the Old Otway School located at 6864 Main Street in Otway, OH on Saturday April 3rd. Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday at 6pm at the following locations: Crabtree’s Market in Lucasville, Portsmouth Pizzeria, Front Row Video of Portsmouth and Castle Comics. First Row Seating available only by purchasing tickets here on www.rcwonline.com by clicking on the “RCW SHOW TICKETS” tab at the left. PD10 is going to be a barn burner, this is what President Al Snow and the Board of Directors has in store:
RCW’s designated “Eyes & Ears” Mike “Loony” Horton announced the match at the end of LITD last month. President, Al Snow made it official. “Violent” Vance Desmond with Exotic E in his corner will defend the RCW World Heavyweight Title in a NO DQ match against Chad Cruise. Cruise has nearly captured the title in their last two bouts. Bout one saw a time limit draw that many thought Cruise would be Champion if there were 2 seconds left to spare, while match 2 had everyone believing that Cruise did capture the title for it only to be revealed that Desmond had been DQ’d. This time anything and everything is legal. Desmond has the HAMMER and E in his corner as always. Will Chad Cruise have backup? Anything can happen in RCW and most likely will happen in this match in Otway on April 3rd.
Trik Nasty & The Juggulator may have formerly disbanded Da Rydas after their loss to the RCW Tagteam Champions Ace Gigolo and Tyson Rogers last month but they still have scores to setting in Singles Competition. Trik Nasty will be taking on Tyson Rogers while Juggulator will face Ace Gigolo. Who will have the last laugh when the dust settles is anyone’s guess, but one thing is for sure…..The Mastermind is no longer a factor after being FIRED by AL SNOW. These will be strictly one on one contests.
Randy “The King” Allen says he has something to prove. He wants to show everyone that Otto Von Boogiemeister’s win over him at LITD was a fluke. Allen with Hollie Wood at his side will take on Otto once again but we highly doubt Allen will be taking Boogiemeister lightly this time around. Could be bad news for Otto.
Speaking of BAD NEWS…..”Bad News” Keith Hamblin and Heavy Metal had an impressive showing as the new team METAL MAYHEM last month. You thought their opponents last month were an odd pair wait until you see who they are fighting at Physical Distortion. “American Idol” Dirk Extreme has told President Al Snow and Mike Horton that he has changed his ways. He wants Flash Fury and Nikki Tyler to know this. Extreme has offered to become Nikki Tyler’s tag team partner. Tyler defeated Extreme last month. This month they will team up to take on Metal Mayhem. Is the American Idol playing MIND GAMES or is he sincere…..only time will tell.
“Genuine” Jock Samson has been running through the competition in RCW but only under his rules. The North American Title has stayed around the Champions waist largely due to the fact that Mastermind had agreed to “Jock’s Rules”. Bryan Cross has nearly won the belt on 2 occasions and is being given one final shot at it. Cross VS Samson for the North American Title could be Jock’s last hurrah.
PHYSICAL DISTORTION 2010
RCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH – NO DQ
“Violent” Vance Desmond (c) w/ Exotic E vs. Chad Cruise
Trik Nasty vs. Tyson Rogers
Ace Gigolo vs. The Juggulator
Randy “The King” Allen vs. Otto Von Boogiemeister

PWO TV – Title Tournament Turmoil – 3/21/10

PWO – Pro Wrestling Ohio – your televised pro wrestling alternative, with more guts, more desire, and more heart, from a young hungry roster competing to steal the show. Old school meets new age and tradition meets tomorrow, its pro wrestling the way you want it to be! It’s Cleveland-owned, nationally renowned!
PWO TV regularly airs Sunday nights at 10:00 pm (check local listings for pre-emptions and additional replay times) exclusively on Sports Time Ohio, official television home of MLB’s Cleveland Indians. If you don’t get STO, call your cable or satellite provider today and demand it! For more information on channel availability, and on Pro Wrestling Ohio, visit PWO Online at www.pwowrestling.com.
Scheduled airtimes for this week’s episode (all times Eastern Standard):
Sunday night, March 21 – 10:00 pm & 3:30 am
Thursday night, March 25 – 4:00 am
Scheduled line-up –
Title Tournament Turmoil – M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross & Jason Bane vs. N8 Mattson & Ben Boone
It was announced recently that PWO would be holding an upcoming 8-man elimination tournament over the span of several weeks of television to crown an official #1 contender, following months of over ten wrestlers claiming they are deserving of a title shot. This week, four of the most prolific do battle in tag team competition, in search of must-needed momentum headed into the tournament. Matt Cross was PWO’s first ever champion, but has struggled to earn a return bout, though PWO Champion Johnny Gargano has stated he would be proud to wrestle Cross for the title. Jason Bane has been PWO’s Most Dominant Man since day one, but a title has eluded him to date, but it’s Bane that must be elusive, with a $10,000 bounty on his head courtesy of arch-rival Aaron Maguire. This is only the second time in history Cross & Bane have teamed, yet their opponents, PWO TV Champion “Amazing” N8 Mattson & “Big Bear” Benjamin Boone, have been partners for over a year as “The Sons of Michigan” and have stated their goal to sweep PWO of singles gold, regardless of which one of them wins the title. Matt Cross has stated he will not only be on the winning team, but he will score the winning PINFALL as well. M-Dogg is definitely determined and focused to shoot straight to the top of the contender’s rankings. Will he be successful this week?
One Week Before Title Match – Word From Champion Gargano & Challenger Fontaine
Both champion and challenger speak out seven days before a scheduled PWO Title match. Johnny Gargano has kept a feverish schedule as PWO Champion, and no matter how hard he fights, it seems the list of contenders only continues to grow. Fontaine has recently become highly outspoken and critical of PWO management and his role within Pro Wrestling Ohio over the past two years, to the point of causing much controversy and displeasure within the PWO offices. Both men will be given an open forum to sound off on their frame of mind before the PWO Title will be decided seven days from this Sunday night!
“True Talent” Bobby Shields w/Dawn Decadence vs. Michael “The Bomber” Façade
Shields is one-third of the PWO Tag Team Champions in Sex Appeal, but ventures into singles competition this week. Façade has stepped up his game big time in recent weeks, winning an international 4-way dance featuring talent from CHIKARA Pro Wrestling, and also taking PWO Champion Johnny Gargano to his limit two weeks ago. Here Façade has a shot at the biggest win of his Pro Wrestling Ohio career, to defeat a current champion. Will Façade’s combination of Japanese discipline & street-wise recklessness win out over the bold & beautiful Bobby The Body?
Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe vs. Eric Ryan & Corey Winters
It’s the rubber match between two teams who have traded victories over the past month. Iron & Hobo have aligned with the long-term goal of taking the PWO Tag Titles away from Sex Appeal. Ryan & Winters are currently at a pivotal point in their careers, as they believe they have found something — or someone — that can be the “missing piece to the puzzle” to help this team hit the next level. Who will make strides upward the PWO tag team rankings?
Plus: The Puerto Rican Wrecking Crew and more!
Column – My Lover in Naucalpan – Nikita Allanov

When I got into this wonderful sport of professional wrestling over a decade ago, I had the goal that a lot of other guys also had at the time: I wanted to work for the WWF, WCW, or ECW. As I learned more about the business (and those companies folded up) my goals changed. Over the years I have had opportunities for things, and I have been scouted by major companies both in the US and abroad. However, my goal was always just to make a living at professional wrestling. As I have grown a little older and grown up a wee bit, goals like that become less realistic. Goals change.
In this week’s column, I would like to express my love for the promotion that currently embodies what I love about wrestling. I am a professional wrestler, and this is what I watch, when I want to watch professional wrestling.
International Wrestling Revolution Group, or IWRG for short, is a lucha libre promotion based out of Naucalpan, which is a suburb of Mexico City. For lack of a better term, it is what I am calling “strong style” lucha libre.
IWRG was founded in 1996 by Adolfo Moreno, who was the promoter running Arena Naucalpan. For years Arena Naucalpan was the red-headed stepchild of the area, because UWA ran weekly cards at the 20000 seat Toreo in Naucalpan, while CMLL ran cards weekly at Arena Mexico, which seats 17000, and Arena Coliseo (which seats around 3500). After UWA folded and AAA emerged as a national touring promotion, Moreno rebranded his events in Naucalpan as IWRG. For about a decade, IWRG would work with CMLL, booking their young rookies on the under cards, while CMLL stars would often headline, helping fill the 1500 seat arena on Thursdays and Sundays.
But, a funny thing happened back in 2007 – CMLL and Mexico’s biggest star, El Hijo del Santo, had a falling out over money. CMLL did what almost seems unthinkable for a US promotion: they “blacklisted” Santo, and any of the CMLL affiliated promoters who used Santo would be cut off from all other CMLL talent. Cesar and Jorge Moreno, Adolfo’s sons who had taken over the family business, were one of the few promoters who decided to stop using CMLL talent.
Without top CMLL stars, IWRG began booking the newly independent wrestlers leaving CMLL and AAA. Beefing up the midcard and the bottom of the card were a variety of rookies (“novatos” in Mexico), who were trainees in the area.
As IWRG began to book fewer and fewer “names” on their cards, IWRG’s cards began to focus more and more on teacher-student feuds. IWRG’s roster began to consist more and more of older veterans who no longer are working on the circuit full-time, and their students, who were booked into programs with other veterans and their students. Filling out the card were indy mainstays, and a number of cast-offs and vets from the bigger companies – many of whom were decent enough wrestlers, but were not in a major company for various reasons.
Negro Navarro and Black Terry were two of the older respected veterans working and training wrestlers in IWRG who were just not out working the circuit anymore. I started paying attention to IWRG when Dr. Wagner Jr. started to appear on occasion after leaving CMLL. Around the same time, a new wrestler debuted in IWRG named Multifacetico – and was immediately pushed up the cards as an unbeatable tecnico. Quickly being put in the spotlight before he was ready, the fans quickly started trashing the young highflyer when his inexperience would show up in matches. Multifacetico then became embroiled in a brutal and bloody feud with veteran rudo Black Terry, with IWRG hoping that the fans would get behind their young star against the dastardly rudo Terry.
Instead, the die-hard Naucalpan fans got behind the rudo. Little did anyone know at the time that Terry was actually the father of Multifacetico, who was soon to be on his way to working fulltime in preliminary matches for CMLL. In addition, Negro Navarro’s sons, Los Traumas, were putting on great matches at their legendary father’s side, often opposing Black Terry, and two other veteran rudos – Dr. Cerebro and Cerebro Negro.
In addition, foreign wrestlers started making their way to IWRG. All-Japan sent Tetsuya Bushi and Kiyoshi to IWRG on learning excursions. Angelico, a Spanish wrestler discovered by Ultimo Dragon, soon appeared. Ricky Cruz appeared from WWC in Puerto Rico. American indy wrestler Gringo Loco channeled the ghosts of Art Barr and started getting major heat as a rudo. With veterans such as Canek, Los Dinamatas, Pantera, and Pirata Morgan showing up, with their novato sons at their sides, IWRG was building a different kind of roster.
IWRG had the perfect storm. The vets were wrestlers with strong mat skills, who insisted on going out and busting their asses to make their novatos look good – more than likely because they wanted the other vets to make sure their own sons looked good. The matches featured long solid falls, with a ton of unique matwork. You know, actually exchanging holds. Anyone who thinks there is no mat wrestling left in wrestling needs to watch IWRG. In addition, the vets were experienced seasoned bases for the young high flyers. This allowed the youngsters to try crazy dives and other high flying moves. The mix of foreign styles (and grizzled veterans getting their hands on rookies) led to stiff exchanges of striking often not seen in lucha. The veterans and the novatos were all pushing each other.
The Arena Naucalpan fans add to the atmosphere. With the traditional airhorns that it seems every lucha arena has, the fans get into the shows and make a lot of noise. Yet, at the same time, they would be silent during the matwork, and would applaud awesome exchanges and holds as if they were a Japanese crowd. Arena Naucalpan seems to have legitimate “smart marks” – fans that appreciate great wrestling and are going to cheer good wrestlers – either rudo or tecnico. The fans would be ridiculously hard on novatos, which forces them to train harder and get better, or face not being booked.
To top things off, Black Terry Jr., ringside photographer extraordinaire, began bringing a video camera to ringside. So, not only were great pics being uploaded to the internet, but suddenly ringside handheld footage was all over YouTube. While IWRG had television shows that would sporadically pop up on the internet in the past, the low production values didn’t flatter the in-ring product. BTJr’s handheld footage, believe it or not, comes across much better. He is so close to the action you can almost feel it. You feel the crash on dives. You can feel the pain of the holds. When a wrestler is injured, BTJr. would get up close and let you see the wrestlers being tended to at ringside. He would even follow the wrestlers to the back. We would get behind-the-scenes footage of wrestlers getting stitched up.
IWRG gives me the same type of vibe that I got when I first discovered ECW back in 1996. It is something that is different, but at the same time traditional. IWRG has found a perfect blend of traditional lucha libre, US indy wrestling, and different international styles. Rather than a melting pot, IWRG seems to be a stew where many different things come together – and the broth is traditional lucha libre. You will see classic European style mat wrestling. You will see crazy lucha highflying. You will see bloody weapons-filled ECW-ish brawls. You see wacky gimmicks. Stipulation matches where wrestlers lose hair and masks. You see 2/3 falls matches that last 30 minutes. You see a great product with a loyal, if small, following.
So, I have motivation again. After twelve years, I have a new goal. I want to go to Arena Naucalpan and learn at the foot of Black Terry and Negro Navarro. IWRG seems to be everything that I currently love about wrestling.

Scheduled airtimes for this week’s episode (all times Eastern Standard):
Sunday night, March 14 – 10:00 pm & 3:30 am
Thursday night, March 18 – 4:00 am
Scheduled line-up –
THE JOHNNY GARGANO/GREGORY IRON SUMMIT
Two weeks ago, PWO Champion Johnny Gargano and “Handicapped Hero” Gregory Iron found themselves as unlikely allies as they, along with Hobo Joe, were able to save one another from the gang warfare of Sex Appeal. When Gargano extended his hand to thank Iron for the help, Greg refused. We have been unable to procure an explanation from Greg for his actions, but one must think it is heavily influenced by the deeply personal and violent feud between Gargano and Iron in 2008, which nearly caused the end of Gregory Iron’s career and life (footage can be seen here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XkUlToqvco). Gargano has requested that Greg sit down with him this Sunday night, and has invited our cameras to document this meeting, claiming he wants the whole world to see the vast change between the old Johnny Gargano and the Johnny Gargano of today. What will happen when Gregory Iron & Johnny Gargano meet face-to-face and address one another for the first time since their unforgettable rivalry and brutal Last Man Standing war? Will Johnny Gargano be able to convince Gregory Iron he is a new man or are some things simply unforgivable?
PWO TV TITLE: AMAZING N8 MATTSON vs. OMEGA AARON DRAVEN
Representing “The Sons of Michigan”, Amazing N8 defeated Omega to capture the TV Title some weeks ago, and along with “Big Bear” Benjamin Boone has been on a very impressive role. Omega has requested, and been granted, a rematch for the championship that was once his. Draven has been behaving increasingly… bizarre in recent times, as his interview and personalities have become almost as unpredictable as his in-ring style. Can Omega hold everything together long enough to re-capture the TV Title? Or will Michigan reign supreme once more in the TV Title division?
BOBBY BEVERLY vs. BEN FRUITH
An angry Bobby Beverly sees his first singles match since losing his PWO Championship match against Johnny Gargano, thanks in large part to Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe thwarting the illegal numbers advantage of Sex Appeal. Beverly intends to take out this frustration on PWO’s gullible loveable loser Ben Fruith, who has battled quite the losing streak against a tough string of opponents to say the least. Word has it, Beverly also intends on addressing Gregory Iron personally. How will the escalating rivalry of Beverly vs. Iron effect this match-up, and can Ben Fruith and the Fruith Roll Up finally find success?
BRIAN BENDER vs. ISAAC MONTANA
A couple of months ago, Isaac Montana & Luis Diamante, The Puerto Rican Wrecking Crew, made their PWO debuts by making an impact, as they immediately attacked and injured Ernie Ballz of the Clash, as a pre-emptive strike to prevent the same happening to them, which The Clash had become notorious for. Since that night, and the loss of their PWO Tag Titles to Sex Appeal, The Clash have not spoken a word to one another, and Ernie Ballz has been absent. Brian Bender has now pointed the blame for the disintegration of The Clash squarely on the Wrecking Crew, and challenged one of them to a singles match. Can Brian Bender avenge what he feels is the reason for The Clash’s demise and prepare for life after Ernie Ballz? Or can the ambassador of Puerto Rico lead Isaac Montana to his first PWO singles victory?
Plus: Michael “The Bomber” Façade, Krimson, a closer examination of Gargano vs. Iron history, and more!

ALL WEEKEND LONG – 8 MAN SINGLE ELIMINATION #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT
Over the past several months, countless individuals have stepped forward and laid claim to the spot of #1 contender for the PWO Championship and currently titleholder Johnny Gargano. Gargano has done his best to handle this mounting pressure, though it is clear the stress involved in being such a marked man would be enough to lead anyone to the breaking point. However, PWO management has selected the 8 men deemed most worthy to challenge for the PWO Championship and has placed them in a weekend-long single elimination tournament, with the winner to challenge Gargano in our final Live TV Taping of the weekend on Sunday afternoon. The first round matches and tournament brackets are as follows -
“M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross vs. “Megastar” Marion Fontaine
Cross attempts to earn the title shot promised to him by Gargano last fall, while Fontaine looks to avenge months of alleged repression by PWO management.
“Big Bear” Benjamin Boone vs. Michael “The Bomber” Façade
Boone is unpinned in over a year as a “Son of Michigan”, while Façade took Gargano to his limit in a recent non-title outing
“Amazing” N8 Mattson vs. TBA
Mattson has momentum as TV Champion, but the disadvantage of not knowing his opponent until the weekend comes!
“PWO’s Most Dominant Man” Jason Bane vs. Sex Appeal’s Bobby Beverly
Bane looks to overcome an evil agent’s malicious bounty and use it as motivation to go to the very top, while Beverly looks to add to his current Tag Title, and possible collect a bounty in the process.
Plus: The Semifinal and Final rounds!
FRIDAY: LADDER MATCH FOR #1 TV TITLE CONTENDER – OMEGA AARON DRAVEN vs. MICHAEL “THE BOMBER” FAÇADE vs. MATTHEW JUSTICE
Three of PWO’s thrill-seeking daredevils do battle to earn a shot at PWO TV Champ N8 Mattson. Justice & Façade have taken each other to the limit before in a wild altercation, and have earned mutual respect for one another, but its all out the window with a title shot at stake. Aaron Draven was PWO’s first TV champ and craves one more shot to recapture the belt from the man who defeated him twice. Which man will not just win, but survive?
SATURDAY: 20-MAN GAUNTLET MATCH
Its one of the most beloved and unpredictable matches in wrestling. Two men start the match, and at equally timed intervals another joins the fray until all 20 have entered the match. Elimination occurs when a wrestler is thrown over the top rope and both feet hit the floor. PWO’s biggest and best will all be entered. Who will be the last one standing?
SATURDAY: BONUS HARDCORE RULES MATCH – WILL NOT AIR ON PWO TV!
As a special added attraction late into our Saturday night tapings, we will present a special no-rules anything-goes hardcore rules match exclusively for those fans in attendance that evening! Due to the risk of violence, this match will NOT be shown on PWO TV and the only way to catch it is to be there live! Comes as you want, bring what you want, wear what you want!
SUNDAY: PWO CHAMPIONSHIP: JOHNNY GARGANO vs. TOURNAMENT WINNER
If Johnny Gargano can make it to March 21 as PWO Champion, he will defend the top prize in Pro Wrestling Ohio against whomever is victorious in the PWO Title tournament. With 8 very different, very diverse, and very determined athletes to train and prepare for at once, can Gargano possibly have the focus necessary to overcome whomever his opposition may be? Gargano’s greatest test as champion is undoubtedly coming March 21.
PLUS: Throughout the weekend, see all the rest of your favorite PWO stars, in addition to the names listed above, including PWO Tag Champions Bobby Shields, Nicki Valentino, and Dawn Decadence of Sex Appeal, “Handicapped Hero” Gregory Iron, “Dumpster Dweller” Hobo Joe, the evil and demonic Krimson, The Puerto Rican Wrecking Crew, Eric Ryan & Corey Winters, Ben Fruith, Brian Bender, the PWO returns of Super Hentai, Shiima Xion, and Portia Perez, and the official PWO debuts of Louis Lyndon & Flip Kendrick, collectively known as Aeroform!
