Results – NexGen: The Future is Now! – 1/30/10
Posted: February 8, 2010
First let us kick this off with a HUGE thank you to everyone that made this past Saturday night such a special night for everyone involved. It was no joke, NexGen truly featured the next generation of wrestling stars and we hope to continue the trend with our upcoming shows. Hurry over to our pics on MySpace to see for yourself the action as the pictures will be up today.
Want to thank our sponsors for the event MIM’s Family Pizza in Owensville, Quizno’s Subs in Batavia, WrestleOhio, NexTV Sports and Kronus Consulting!
Our website is being combed over to make sure it is 100% ready for launch by our good friends at K3Designs and we hope to have that online in full by this weekend. With that said more detailed results will be posted there but here is a quick look at all the ins and outs of NexGen’s Debut Show:
In a Pre-Show Match: The Bravado Brothers defeated The Magnificent Marvel Connection (w/Nikki Heyman) via pin fall in tag team division action.
Main Show Results
Matt Stryker opened the show thanking everyone for being there and stating that as Director of Authority he was going to make sure the wrestlers treated this business with respect and up hold the tradition wrestling has in the area.
The Hi Def SuperNovas (Robbie Starr & Matt Mason) defeated The Noble Bloods (Lord Matthew and Sir Chadwick) via pin fall in a tag team division match.
Pelle Primeau defeated Sherman Tank in singles division via pin fall with his feet on the ropes.
Super Oprah won a Four Corners Elimination match over Scotty Young, Jake Omen and The Masked Sensation Eclipso. Order of Elimination was: Eclipso by Jake Omen via pin fall, Jake Omen by Scotty Young via pin fall and Scotty Young by Super Oprah via pin fall to win the match
“The American Nightmare” Kaden Assad defeated Jesse Emerson via pin fall after hitting a low blow with a foreign object to win the match in singles division action.
After the match, Assad continued the assault until “Director of Authority” Matt Stryker came out to break it up. Once Stryker’s back was turned Assad began choking him. This lead Cody Hawk, Matt Stryker’s former tag team partner back in the original HWA and a Ohio Wrestling Icon himself, out to chase Assad off. We thought we were going to see an Icon’s reunion until Hawk turned and spat in Stryker’s face before bailing leaving a stunned Stryker fuming over the disrespect shown to him by his now FORMER friend.
After a brief intermission, The Soul Shooters (Dru & Q Skillz) locked up with the Black Irish Saints (Damien Kass & Devlin Anderson w/Naughtia) in tag team division action. The Match wouldn’t have a winner as the two teams lost their tempers and led referee Joe Kopasz to throw the match out. After the two teams wouldn’t start fighting, Director of Authority Matt Stryker lead the locker room and security into the ring to separate the four men.
In what is being called the Match of the Night by fans in attendance, “The Angelic Assassin” Aaron Williams pinned Tim Donst in an amazing contest to advance in the Singles Division. Both men looked to take the match at any time but it would be Williams walking away the winner tonight.
And in the main event, “Spartan 3000” Matt Cross and Rhett Titus showed why they are two of the top up and coming INDY wrestlers on the planet. Cross defeated Titus with a shooting star press in Singles Division in a match that has to be seen to be believed.
Fans it truly was a great night. We are currently working on our return date of March 19, 2010 to Owensville for NexGen 2: A Friday Night Fight! More news on this event in the coming weeks!
