This past Wednesday night the HWA entertained fans at The Sorg Opera House for the final time of 2009. The show featured six matches and there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. The show was kicked off by crowd favorite Dave Crist in singles action against Kyle Havens. Havens was making his professional wrestling debut against one of the HWA’s top stars and while his task at hand was certainly not an easy one, Mr. Havens did make an impact on both the fans and his fellow wrestlers. Dave started off by taking the house microphone and introducing himself to Kyle Havens, followed by insisting that Havens go out to the crowd and shake hands with each and every fan, to properly introduce himself. Havens did just that and after his formal introduction the bell rang and the action began. Dave controlled the early going with a bit of chain wrestling but seemed to be impressed that Havens was holding his own. Havens followed up by going for a quick rollup, getting a near fall. Dave then asked Havens to dance, which caught everyone off guard, but to Havens credit he did dance, albeit poorly. From here on Dave was all business, using several veteran tactics to maintain the upper hand. At the nine minute mark, Dave forced Kyle Havens to tap out to a front face lock. Crowd showed Havens respect for holding his own against a top notch opponent. In 2010 fans should be on the lookout for Kyle Havens who has a world of potential and a bright future in front of him.
Chris”The Madness” Hall made his way to the ring for a gauntlet match. His first opponent, Kid Fabulous danced his way to the ring and took the fight to the much larger Madness quickly. After roughly a minute of flying all over the squared circle, Madness caught Kid with a sideslam for the pin. Up next was Kid’s partner Sid, who battered Madness with fast dropkicks and stiff chops. About a minute later, Madness delivered a press slam to Sid, kicking Sid in his head right before Sid hit the mat, which would be enough to finish Sid off. Madness’ third opponent, aaron Xtreme bolted out from the back and suffered a similar fate as Madness’ first two foes. After some lightening fast offense, including a beautiful hurricarana, Madness rebounded to pick up the win less than two minutes into the match following a devastating neckbreaker. Madness grabbed the microphone and demanded a higher quality of opposition. Jake Crist comes out to the delight of the fans and calls Madness “Fatness”. Crist followed up with several more insults and then returned to the locker room area. Madness, quite angry at this point, demands that Jake come back and face him in the ring. Jake returns and begins going through the crowd, joined by his brother Dave. Together they taunt Madness who begins to chase Jake all over. They wind up in the ring face to face, when Dave lays behind Madness. Jake shoves Madness, who trips over Dave and the bell rings! Madness quickly regains control prompting Jake to bite his hand. Madness, more angry than ever now, overpowers Jake and throws him from corner to corner. Jake regroups, takes Madness down and goes for a sharpshooter, which was blocked. Madness misses a Vader bomb, Jake nails Madness with a top rope dropkick, followed by two more dropkicks and a superkick, which gets a near fall. Jake applies the sharpshooter, but Madness gets to the ropes. Madness catches Jake flying from the top rope but Jake fights free and hits a second superkick which got another near fall. Madness got a near fall of his own following a spinebuster and goes for another Vader bomb, but Jake gets up and climbs the ropes with Madness. Jake from the second flip hits a sunset flip, gets another near fall and from there again applies the sharpshooter. This time Madness couldn’t escape and had no choice but to tap out.
Ron Mathis teamed with Kadan Assad to take on the team of Shank Barzini and Jesse Emerson. The crowd was all over Mathis and one fan even tried to attack “New Attitude” before the bell rang! Fans were chanting “Beech is going to kill you” and “USA” all throughout the match. Jesse and Kadan start things off with back and forth mat wrestling before Jesse tags in Shank, who taunts Mathis. Mathis tags in and Shank headbutts him to the midsection, followed up by a back body drop. Mathis is reeling and gets double teamed in the corner of Shank and Jesse. Jesse tags in and they manage to keep Mathis in their half of the ring. Mathis remained in trouble for the next few minutes until Kadan’s interference turned the tide. Kadan tags in and double suplexes Shank with Mathis, causing the ref to lose control of the match. Shank gets beatdown in the chaos but still fights his way to his corner to tag out. Jesse tags in and goes after both when the ref looses control again. Kadan goes for the camel clutch on Shank, when Jesse, still the legal man, sunset flips over Kadan and pins him! Kadan and Jesse fight after the match back to the locker room, leaving Mathis alone with an already injured Shank. Mathis snaps, beating Shank senseless with a steel chair over and over. Shank was in position to defend himself and Mathis seemed hell bent on ending Shank’s career. Jesse returned to make the save but the damage was done. Shank is seriously hurt and as of this time, no one seems to be sure when or if Shank will return to the ring.
The Noble Bloods, Chad Cruise and Matt Taylor, competed in a handicap match against Aaron Williams. Aaron didn’t wait for the bell, throwing Chad out of the ring and beating down Matt. Chad gets back in the ring, only to get thrown out again. Taylor attacks Aaron from behind and takes control. Aaron rebounds with a dropkick and ducks when Chad tried to hit him from behind, causing Taylor to take the shot. Shortly after The Noble Bloods begin double teaming Aaron and this was the theme of the match. Aaron, with his never say die attitude, would valiantly battle both men until a double team effort would stop him in his tracks. The match lasted fourteen minutes from start to finish and around the ten minute mark Chad had Aaron pinned but stopped at the ref’s count of two. This would prove to be the biggest mistake of the match. Aaron fought back, getting Matt Taylor in a crossface. Chad tried to dive on top to break it up, when Aaron moved and applied the crossface to both of The Noble Bloods, with Chad lying on top of Matt! The Noble Bloods regrouped and double suplexed Aaron and after regaining control, Aaron hit Chad with a flying body press for the three count. After the match, Matt and Chad beat down Aaron for several minutes. Will Aaron be ready to go for his title for title match this Saturday against King Vu?
The main event of the evening was a tag match between Royal Violence [ King Vu and Jon Moxley] against The Hybrids. Danny O’Brien grabbed the microphone and told the crowd this Saturday The Hybrids would win their four team match and become number one contenders to the tag team titles once again. Before Danny could finish, Mox ran out and hit him in the back of the head, knocking Danny off the stage and leaving him knocked out cold for most of the match. When the bell rang, Mox and jason started things off. Mox was quick to start biting before tagging in Vu. Jason’s chops only seemed to anger Vu, who then missed an elbow, allowing The Hybrids to double team him. Mox and Donovan tag in and Donovan hits Mox with a flying headscissors. Mox tags out and Vu chokes out Donovan before getting a near fall. Several quick tags by Royal Violence as they remain in firm control of the match. Both Mox and Vu apply different submissions on Donovan, whose in desperate need of a tag. Mox tags back in just as Donovan tags Jason in. Hybrids keep Mox in their corner, make several quick tags of their own and now Mox is in trouble. Vu tries to enter ring which distracts ref, allowing The Hybrids to double team Mox. Mox rebounds and hits a series of knees and a powerbomb on Jason. Donovan interferes and then tags in. Mox is staggering, but manages to reverse a double suplex and tags in Vu. Vu takes on both Hybrids and Mox re-enters the match, missing first with a top rope attack but quickly caught Jason after and scored the winning pinfall. Your winners, Royal Violence. After the match, all hell broke loose. The locker room cleared with one wrestler after another joining the huge free for all in the ring. HWA security and officials were getting dropped left and right [ myself included - King Vu punched me in the face]. After several minutes of fighting, the ring was mostly cleared except for King Vu and his opponent for World war 3 – Aaron Williams. Officials held them apart the best the could, but this Saturday there will be no one preventing them from going at each other. Title for Title – at World War 3, someone is going home with both the HWA Heavyweight Title and the American Luchacore Title.

HWA’s second to last show of the year at The Sorg Opera House was last night and featured 6 matches. The show opened up with Chris “The Brain” addressing the crowd. “Bad Attitude” Brian Beech joined Chris “The Brain” ringside and talked about his “Norwood Street Fight” Saturday December 19th against “New Attitude” Ron Mathis. Beech said that him and Mathis are in the middle of a war and Mathis knows nothing about this kind of war. Beech ended by saying that if Mathis beats him in their “Norwood Street Fight” that he will leave the HWA for sixty days!
The first match of the evening was a singles bout between Dustin Rayz and Kaden Assad. Crowd chants “USA” for a majority of the match. A very fast paced, back and forth match in which both men had advantages at different points. Kaden was in trouble at first but regained the upper hand with an eye rake. Kaden’s unique offense seemed to catch Dustin off guard for awhile. Kaden tried to keep Dustin grounded, but Dustin was still full of fight. Dustin connected with a kick to the back of Kaden’s head and got a near fall. Dustin surprised Kaden with a quick rollup and got the win. After the bell rang, Kaden jumped Dustin and then fled from the ring. Dustin on his way back to the locker room grabbed a microphone and challenged Kaden to a match December 19th in Norwood!
The second match of the evening was between Jesse Emerson and Chris “The Madness” Hall. “Madness” started the match off by over powering Jesse, throwing Jesse into the turnbuckles. Jesse got to his feet and went for a waistlock go behind, followed by a shoulder block and two drop kicks, which stunned “Madness” for the moment. “Madness” came to and hit Emerson with a flying shoulder tackle. “Madness” had control of the match and began to wear down Jesse with a series of power moves and wear down holds. Jesse would spend most of this eight minute encounter playing defense and merely trying to survive the beatdown “Madness” was inflicting. Most people thought the match was over when “Madness” climbed to the second rope and connected with a Vader bomb on Jesse but Jesse avoided being pinned by getting his foot on the rope. Both men got to their feet and exchanged blows. Jesse connected with a lariat and then to the shock of the crowd, body slammed Chris “The Madness” Hall. Jesse climbed to the top rope where “Madness” caught him. They both connected punches and Jesse managed to sunset flip over “Madness” from the top rope which got him a three count and victory! A very impressive win by Jesse Emerson.
Shank Barzini made his way to the ring for the show’s third match. Shank’s opponent, “New Attitude” Ron Mathis, was still fuming over a loss to Shank a few months ago and wanted revenge. For seven minutes these two men engaged an intense battle, giving each other everything they had. Shank, the ultimate underdog, was determined to prove that his win over Mathis wasn’t a fluke. Mathis was determined to prove otherwise. Shank headbutted Mathis to start the match and from there it was on. Shank nearly got a quick win with a backslide and at this point Mathis seemed flustered. Shank continued with his offense and Mathis hit Shank with a bodyslam to even the odds. Mathis controlled the next few minutes with Shank refusing to give up. Mathis from the second rope drills Shank with a spinning elbow. Mathis thought Shank was done, but Shank surprised him with a spinning headscissors. A missed moonsault by Shank would be the opportunity Mathis needed, as he went in for the kill and would get a pinfall over Shank less than a minute later. Mathis after the match continued to beat down Shank until Jesse Emerson would hit the ring to make the save.
The Hybrids, along with their manager Danny O’Brien came out for the fourth match against Utterly Fabulous. Over the past few weeks, Utterly Fabulous has been a little more on the serious side and that trend would continue in this match. Sid and Kid Fabulous held their own against the former tag team champions in a match that would last ten minutes. The Hybrids employed their usual tactics, quick tags and keeping their opponents in their half of the ring, allowing for sneaky double teams. Sid and Kid were quite familiar with The Hybrids gameplan and also were able to make several quick tags and tried to keep the match at their pace, which is quite a bit faster than the pace The Hybrids prefer. The crowd was all over The Hybrids, chanting “Hybrids suck” for a majority of the match. The final two minutes of the match saw several near falls by both teams and match really could’ve gone either way. Manager Danny O’Brien would prove to be the deciding factor, as his interference would enable The Hybrids to steal a win over Utterly Fabulous. After the match, Sid was very upset and the normal post match dancing was not going to happen after this hard fought loss.
Following intermission, Matt Taylor came out to the ring to call out American Luchacore Champion Aaron Williams. Matt runs down Aaron verbally for a moment before telling the crowd that Aaron isn’t here tonight because he was in an accident. Chris “The Brain” came out to ringside and said that Aaron being in an accident on the same night that Chad Cruise doesn’t show up doesn’t sit right with him and he will get to the bottom of this. “The Brain” also told security to throw Taylor out of the building. A fight broke out between Taylor and one security guard. Dave Crist’s music hit and he jumps Taylor from behind. King Vu quietly made his way to the ring and tried to hit Dave, but Dave ducked causing Matt Taylor to absorb the blow from Vu. All hell breaks loose and the ref calls for this Falls Count Anywhere match between King Vu and Dave Crist to start. Matt Taylor was still at ringside and would continue to be a pain for Dave Crist. Dave fights both men, even using a stuffed “Barney” doll that a fan had brought to taunt King Vu with. Vu and Matt take turns beating Dave down and Dave continued to use anything he could find as a weapon. Vu orders Taylor to sit and watch and Dave throws King Vu into Taylor’s lap before diving onto both of them. Dave then found a pair of shoes that he would throw at Matt Taylor over and over. The battle continued for almost twenty minutes with Vu and Matt dishing out punishment and Dave finding ways to stay alive. The action went all over the arena and eventually back in the ring. Once they got back into the ring, Vu began to use a series of submission maneuvers to try and keep Dave grounded. Dave still had fight left in him and escaped several of Vu’s submission attempts but in the end, the numbers game and Vu’s sheer power and size advantage would catch up to Dave. The ref would stop the match when Dave couldn’t answer him as Vu held him in a bodyscissors/chicken wing combo. King Vu and Matt Taylor started to beatdown Dave more after the match until Jake Crist made his way to the ring, chasing off Taylor and Vu.
The main event of the evening was a match between former HWA Champion Jake Crist and “The Most Dangerous Man in the HWA” Jon Moxley. Fans had high hopes for this match and not one person was let down. Jake and Mox had a twenty-five minute showdown that some might call a wrestling clinic. Jake went for a quick victory right after the bell rang, first with a quick rollup and then with a bridge. Mox was able to kick out and then he went on the offensive with a series of kicks and stiff chops. Mox started working on Jake’s arm early and that would be a focal point for the entire match. Jake escaped Mox’s cross face chicken wing and Mox escaped Jake’s sharpshooter. Mox went back to Jake’s arm, using different variations of the armbar to inflict pain on Jake. Match continued to be very back and forth from here with neither man ever having an advantage for too long. Jake continued to try and apply the sharpshooter while Mox kept going back to armbars, chicken wings and at one point an ankle lock. Jake connected with a super kick that resulted in a near fall. Jake goes for another submission, Mox reverses it into an STF. Mox was back in control of the match until Jake connected with a second super kick. Jake from the top rope hits a cross body on Mox and gets yet another near fall. Both men are barely able to stand by this point as they begin trading punches back and forth. A few more near falls before Jake is able to apply the sharpshooter again, this time in the middle of the ring and Mox has no choice but to tap out. Winner by submission, Jake Crist.

Mad Pro Wrestling once again packed Circleville for another Sunday Showcase this week…here are the results:
MX Title
Mike Dodge defeated Jabari
Matt Taylor defeated Jeremy Madrox
Kaden Assad attempted to interfere, however was stopped by the ref…Madrox then went for his finishing elbow blow, however Taylor was able to duck it and roll up Madrox for the 1-2-3!
MPW Heavyweight Title
Kaden Assad(c) defeated the debuting Mr. Glam Rock
Though Mr. Glam Rock made an impressive debut, in the end Kaden Assad proved just why he is the Heavyweight Champion as he was able to make Glam Rock tap out to the camel clutch!
Kaden Assad & Jeremy Madrox then made an announcement that anybody who wanted to earn a shot at the MPW Title(other then Matt Taylor) could come out and do so against Kaden…Super Oprah answered that challenge!
However before the match could begin, Madrox informed Oprah that if she wanted a Title Shot, she would have to beat Assad in a HANDICAP MATCH!
Assad/Madrox defeated Super Oprah
While the ref was distracted with Assad, Madrox was able to hit Oprah over the head with the heavyweight title allowing Assad to get the pinfall
Matt Taylor then came out and offered up a challenge for Madrox/Assad…since he has pinfall victories over both, he challenged them to another tag match, with his partner being the guy who beat Assad for the MX Title, Mike Dodge!! Assad & Madrox wanting nothing to do with this, however when they were trapped by steel chairs, they decided to accept the challenge!
Taylor then informed them, that it would be a Elimination Tag…so when one of them were defeated, the other one would finally see how it felt to have a 2 on 1 beat down.
Matt Taylor & Mike Dodge vs. Kaden Assad & Jeremy Madrox
Dodge was the first eliminated, followed by Jeremy Madrox! It then came down to 1 on 1 as Matt Taylor attempted to get another victory over Kaden Assad!
Madrox walked back out to ringside, one can only assume to try and help Kaden pick up yet another win…however Super Oprah followed him out…just as Madrox attempted to help Assad, Super Oprah grabbed and planted a huge kiss on Madrox, which gave Taylor the chance to hit his finisher on Assad and pick up another tag team victory over the MPW Heavyweight Champion!!
We return to Circleville, OH next Sunday (Dec. 20th)…will Taylor finally get a MPW Title Shot? Or will Assad & Madrox be up to more of their dirty tricks?
Also, fans who come to our show next week will be able to purchase ANY TWO MPW Items for just $15!! TWO MPW T-Shirts…TWO MPW Dvd’s…or mix & match!! This is a special X-Mas Special that will only be honored at this Sundays Showcase Show!!

Kid Fabulous defeated Mikey Benjamin
Benjamin, a newcomer to the XCW, came ready to prove himself to the fans at the Warsaw Arena. These two were all over the place with a fast paced, lucha style match that at times looked like it would end in a draw. Benjamin and Fabulous appeared to be very evenly matched and if/when they meet again in the ring it would not be shocking to see either emerge with the victory. Fabulous picks up the win in this one though with a modified Dudley Dog.
DJ Tom Sharp defeated “Awesome” Dewey Brown
This was Sharp’s first match back following knee surgery he had several months ago and he didn’t miss a step. If anything; Brown appeared to be the more cautious of the two, not wanting to put DJ Tom Sharp back on the shelf like an old record. That caution was perhaps his downfall as Sharp was able to hit the Remix and get the pin. After the match, Brown appeared to be heavily favoring his neck but insisted he was ok.
XCW Tag Team Champion Dru “The Don” Johnson defeated Tim wylde
Wylde was clearly outmatched in this one from the start but that didn’t stop him from bringing all he had against the big man. Wylde went on the offensive early and often attempting to use his speed advantage to take down Johnson, a strategy that worked well in the beginning. Once The Don was able to catch up to him though, it was all bad times for the Wylde brother as Johnson’s size and strength proved to be too much in the end. Johnson gets the win and says that the Soul Shooters will defend the tag belts on the 19th assuming XCW can find someone that deserves a shot.
Intense Championship Match: “Bad Attitude” Brian Beech defeated The Big Kahuna to become the new Intense Champion following a superkick.
Beech has had it out for Kahuna for a few months now for reasons uncertain if you don’t count the ever changing belt draped over the shoulder of the big man from Hawaii. A Pearl Harbor reference here would be in poor taste so moving on…..Beech was able to pin Kahuna square in the middle of the ring after hitting the superkick. Kahuna was visibly upset as he made his way to the locker room and declined comment later in the evening.
XCW Championship Match: Champion “The Bulldog” Garf Redman defeated Jason Cross to retain the title via a roll up where Redman’s feet were clearly on the ropes but the referee didn’t see it. Cross, being the former champ, was guaranteed a rematch and took full advantage of it in his first match back after losing the title. These two fought all over the arena beating the hell out of each other as was to be expected given their history and the title being up for grabs. Another brutal battle that nearly ended in Redman taking his belt and walking out as he attempted to do against Chris Reno at the last show. Cross would have none of it though as he followed Redman back to the locker room where they continued to knock each other senseless before making it back to ringside where Cross rolled the champion back in and looked to be in position to reclaim his title. however, as Cross re-entered the ring, the crafty champion hooked him in a quick roll up and used the ropes for added leverage to get the pinfall. The proud champion then took his belt and retreated to the locker room bragging to anyone who would listen about another successful title defense won clearly and cleanly.
