Here is the rundown from last night’s inaugural DWA television taping at the RiverStar Sports & Entertainment Center. DWA President Tony Baritone and special guest Beautiful Bobby welcomed the crowd on hand and gave a quick rundown on the evenings proceedings. Then it was time for the action:

The first match was a contest between Jake Omen, who was led to the ring by his new manager The Colonel, and a man that used to be a member of Double J Enterprises, Evan DaMalice. The Colonel shocked the crowd with his latest acquisition of Omen and said that it is time that Double J finally gets the respect and the recognition it deserves. There was a lot of hard hitting action, but in the end it was a distraction by James that led to Omen rolling up DaMalice to get the pinfall. After the match, James joined The Boss at the broadcast table.

Next on the card was a tag team matchup between Tim Lutz & Orlando Savage, accompanied by Animal, and the returning team of Bad News, who were led by Johnny Thunder. A fast-paced match in the least saw both side gain advantage, only to lose it moments later. The end came down to the ref getting knocked out of the ring by Keith as he set Savage up for the swanton bomb by Pete. After Keith was knocked outside too, Animal tossed a chain to Lutz, who in turn, used it on Pete. With Animal and Thunder wrestling at ringside, Lutz pinned Pete after a Catatonic.

The next match was a brutal Fatal Fourway that featured DWA Tag Team champions The $1M Marvel Trice and Magnificent Travis plus Chad Cross and Eric Fallen. The match started fast as Fallen and cross caught both Trice and Travis with dropkicks, Cross’ caught Travis, shoving his jaw into the back of his throat. The referee had very little control in this match, stepping aside to let the four men battle and stepping in only to count pinfalls. But in the end it was only after Trice knocked Cross out of the ring that the Magnificent One hit a middle rope moonsault on a fallen Fallen and covered him for the three-count.

The fourth match was between “Sexy” Sean Casey (accompanied by Tianna) and the Super-Hero-In-Training, Rosey. Squaring off against the much-larger Rosey, Casey relied on his cat-like quickness, and his opponent’s infatuation with Tianna, to wear him down. But the big man’s strength and size was too much to overcome. After Sean moved to avoid a Rosey splash in the corner, he went for a crossbody and was caught in mid-air. Rosey dropped straight to the mat and then got the pinfall. As Rosey left the ring, Casey recovered and grabbed the mic. He complained that the ref made it a 2-on-1 match and challenged Rosey to find a partner for next week. He said he would bring another of the 5Most Wanted for his and Rosey said he had another Super Hero in mind.

After Intermission, former-WWE Hardcore champion Bobcat took on Angel Marie and pinned her after a kick to the midsection off the ropes and a face plant to the mat.

Next on the docket was former DWA star Dameon Daniels and his opponent, the undefeated Black Dragon. The match did not begin well for Daniels as he shortly took a shot to the groin, dropping him to his knees. Then, somehow referee Skeeter got involved with the action. As Daniels recovered from the groin injury, we was pushed into Skeeter and inadvertently DDT’d by the ref. As the ref crawled on the mat, Black Dragon shoved Daniels, causing him to trip backwards over the ref. Dameon then lunged at and was bodyslammed by Skeeter. Dragon pushed him on top of Daniels and made a two-count to the delight of the crowd. But in the end it was a schoolboy by Daniels that ended the unbeaten streak of the Dragon.

The seventh match of the night was between JT Stahr and The Man From the Congo, Sumari. Sumari towered over his opponent and used his size and surprising agility to wear down JT. Even those in attendance were amazed by the athleticism displayed by the big man. A lethal dropkick and a devastating back-to-belly suplex had Stahr’s eyes rolling to the back of his head. Soon, the action spilled to the outside of the ring where the referee began his ten-count. By seven, both combatants had made their way back onto the apron but made no attempt to re-enter the ring. On nine, Sumari clotheslined JT over the top rope and into the ring and was subsequently counted out, giving JT Stahr the win. The two brawled for a few moments after the bell rand and were separated by the officials and security. Once they had JT out of the ring, one of the security was left with Sumari and was then given a thunderous chokeslam.

This brings us to the Main Event, featuring “Bad Attitude” Brian Beech and the former WWE Hardcore and Smoky Mountain Tag Team champion, Al Snow. Most of the attention in this match was poised at the mannequin head, “Head”. There was even a head in the audience. Through all the distractions though, Snow prevailed after the referee was down and he used Head to crack Beech in the skull and gain the victory.

The next DWA TV taping will be Friday night, November 6th. More details on that in the coming days!
