The HWA once again invaded The Sorg Opera House last night, just three nights before HWA Trouble In Paradise.
Here’s what went down…
In the opening contest, “Rookie Sensation” Ryan Campbell looked sharp in his match with one half of Hardcore Religion, “Relentless” Ron Mathis. The two up and comers pushed each other to the limit, but in the end it was Ryan Campbell who walked out with his hand raised as he heads into his first title shot this Saturday Night in Norwood.
Up next was another man who is on a quest for the gold on Saturday Night, as “Deja Vu” Richard Phillips collided with a former two time HWA Heavyweight Champion, Ala Hussein.
Vu looked most impressive and ready to give Jake Crist a run for his money on Saturday as he put Ala Hussein away for the 1-2-3.
“The Astonishing One” and current reigning HWA American Luchacore Champion Aaron Williams was in non-title action against HWA newcomer, Aaron Xtreme.
Xtreme dazzled Williams and the crowd with some of his amazing aerial offense, but the experience edge made the difference as Williams picked up the win just days before his title defense against Ryan Campbell.
“Bad Attitude” Brian Beech defeated JT Stahr by disqualification when “The Madness” Chris Hall interjected attacking Beech and forcing the referee to call for the disqualification.
After the bell JT and The Madness double teamed Beech until Ron Mathis and V-Rad stormed the ring and made the save.
Matt Taylor, with Shawn Bond at his side, informed the fans at The Sorg that he was down and out after the revelation last week that his boss, “The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart was leaving the HWA to be a referee with the WWE.
In fact, Taylor was so upset that he refused to wrestle against Sid Fabulous as originally scheduled.
Sid had no problem with that and instead challenged Taylor to a Dance Off… this would not end good for Sid as he was low blowed and then victimized by the muscle bound Bond.
Former partners would meet for the first time, when V-Rad, with the full support of the fans at The Sorg, took on “The Madness” Chris Hall.
Hall and V-Rad held nothing back as they both took it to one another inside and outside the ring. Things did not look good for V-Rad when “The Madness” went in for the kill… but Hall would not get to finish what he started as a leather strap wielding Brian Beech showed up, whipping Hall across the back forcing the referee to throw the match out.
Beech then grabbed the microphone and warned Madness that he’d have nowhere to run when they fought on Friday Night July 31st in a Leather Strap match as part of Drake Younger’s Psycho Circus at The Sorg!
And it was more chaos and mayhem as The Irish Airborne and the team of Jon Moxley and Tim Donst met in a rematch from their July 1st encounter.
The match featured four of the best wrestlers in the HWA, but scientific skills weren’t a factor when all four men brawled into the balcony.
The action eventually made its way back to the ring and it was right in the center of the ring where HWA Heavyweight Champion Jake Crist scored the pinfall on Jon Moxley to pick up the win for The Irish Airborne in the main event of the evening.
