The HWA kicked off their busy July schedule with their weekly stop at The Sorg Opera House last night.
“The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart along with The Love Connection kicked things off, Andre was still carrying the HWA Heavyweight Title he stole at HWA Uprising and was cockier than usual with his new bodyguard and the duo of Chad Cruise and Matt Taylor in his corner.
Andre was victorious last night when he forced HWA newcomer Aaron Xtreme to submit to The Hitch. But Andre and The Love Connection weren’t finished. After assaulting Xtreme, The Love Connection forced Aaron to kiss Andre’s ring. This brought out HWA Heavyweight Champion Jake Crist who challenged Andre to meet him in an HWA Heavyweight Title rematch in next week’s main event. Andre accepted.
Next up was an HWA American Luchacore Division Three Way featuring Matt Taylor of the Love Connection, Sid Fabulous of Utterly Fabulous and the reigning HWA American Luchacore Champion “Astonishing” Aaron Williams.
After a hard fought battle Williams came out on top of the non-title match proving why he is the reigning HWA American Luchacore Champion.
All on his own, V-Rad did battle with former HWA Heavyweight Champion Ala Hussein. Unfortunately V-Rad was not entirely free of The Entourage, as JT and Madness showed up and nearly cost V-Rad the match. But the two didn’t get the job done and V-Rad outsmarted Ala Hussein getting the 1-2-3. V-Rad was not done for the night however vowing to be a thorn in the side of The Entourage.
HWA President Tim Tatum announced that after getting himself involved in an ill-advised drinking contest with Drake Younger last Friday, Drake Younger will be HWA President for a Day and that day will be Friday Night July 31st when the HWA presents Drake Younger’s Psycho Circus at The Sorg Opera House.
Hardcore Religion battled JT Stahr and “The Madness” Chris Hall in tag team action and with a little distraction from V-Rad, Beech and Mathis defeated The Entourage. Super agent Brock Guffman protested, but the decision stood!
The man who will challenge either Jake Crist or Andre Heart for the HWA Heavyweight Title in Norwood on July 18th, “Deja Vu” Richard Phillips was in action defeating Chad Cruise of The Love Connection.
And in the main event, the devious duo of Tim Donst and Jon Moxley defeated The Irish Airborne via disqualification thanks to Andre Heart, who snuck into the ring while referee Brandon Tolle was distracted by Tim Donst and Dave Crist battling on the outside of the ring, nailing Jake Crist in the back with the title belt while he had Moxley covered.
Jake got up and wrestled the belt away from Andre, just then referee Brandon Tolle turned around saw Mox down and out on the mat and Jake with the title belt and he immediately called for the DQ.
In the confusion, Heart would once again sneak away with the actual title belt despite the fact he is NOT the HWA Heavyweight Champion.
