Results – HWA at The Sorg Opera House – 6/24/09

Posted: July 5, 2009

It was a hot night of wrestling action in Middletown last night when the HWA returned to the main floor of The Sorg Opera House for the first time in months.

The #1 Contender for the HWA Heavyweight Title, “The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart kicked off the show in winning fashion when he defeated V-Rad of The Entourage.

V-Rad could have easily won the contest if he used the chair given to him by JT Stahr and “The Madness” Chris Hall, however V-Rad hesitated and eventually discarded the chair, something he may have regretted when he eventually succumbed to Andre Heart and The Hitch

It was more Entourage action when “The Madness” Chris Hall battled the man who will face his boss JT Stahr at HWA Uprising, Jesse Emerson.

It was obvious from the get go that Hall was out not to win the match, but to hurt Emerson. Jesse was not backing down from the ox, as he continued to fight back until “The Madness” blatantly defied the referee’s orders and got himself intentionally disqualified. Stahr then got in to add a little insult to injury and send a clear message to Jesse concerning their match at HWA Uprising in Norwood.

HWA Heavyweight Champion Jake Crist was in non-title action against a former HWA Heavyweight Champion in his own right, Ala Hussein. Jake managed to outmaneuver his stronger opposition and get his hand raised in victory.

But after the match, Andre Heart once again attempted the ultimate act of humiliation when he pearl harbored the champ and tried to get Jake to kiss his ring, fortunately for Jake, big brother was watching and Dave Crist ran Andre off before the humiliation took place.

Dave would remain in the ring as he awaited his opposition for the evening, a young man he challenged 7 days earlier, the HWA rookie sensation, Ryan Campbell.

Unlike his previous encounters with the likes of Andre Heart, Tim Donst and Ala Hussein, Ryan would have the opportunity to wrestle in his first sportsmanlike contest with Dave Crist. But one look at Ryan’s chest and you would know that Dave did not go easy on the rookie on his way to winning the match.

Afterwards the victorious Dave Crist showed Ryan some much earned respect as the crowd applauded the efforts of both men.

JT Stahr would become a victim of the problems in his camp as he stepped into the ring with “Deja Vu” Richard Phillips.

Stahr would suffer his first loss in weeks after being distracted by “The Madness” and V-Rad arguing at ringside allowing Vu to sneak in and pick up the win.

After the match JT began to verbally dress down his Entourage, but that meeting was adjourned quickly when a chair wielding Jesse Emerson showed up looking for a bit of revenge on JT from earlier in the night and to send his own message to Stahr concerning their match in Norwood.

Next was the high stakes match up between suspended referee Danny O’Brien and active referee Brandon Tolle.

If Danny won the match, he would be reinstated as an HWA official, but if Brandon Tolle won the match Danny O’Brien would be terminated from the HWA.

Both Tolle and O’Brien came to fight and it was on the moment the bell rang. Tolle was on fire until the action spilled out on to the floor and Danny ducked a punch from Tolle and Tolle’s already injured hand connected with the steel ring post.

From there O’Brien stayed focused on the injured hand of Tolle, but some smart thinking by Tolle was all it took as he capitalized on a Danny O’Brien mistake and got the 1-2-3, picking up the win and banishing Danny O’Brien from the HWA forever.

One of the biggest celebrations in A Fight at the Opera history then took place as the locker room emptied out to send Danny O’Brien packing.

And the night was still not over…

In a preview of two of the big titles matches in Norwood this Friday, The Crusade (Tim Donst and HWA Tag Team Champions The Hybrids) defeated the trio of HWA American Luchacore Champion “Astonishing” Aaron Williams, “Relentless” Ron Mathis and making his HWA debut, Aaron Extreme (who was a last minute replacement for “Bad Attitude” Brian Beech)

The win was not enough for The Crusade however as Donst was hoping to take Aaron out of commission before their submission match, but what Donst did not expect was that Dominique Steele, Aaron’s corner man for Friday’s show was in attendance and he proved to be a valuable asset for “The Astonishing One”.
