The fourth floor ballroom of The Sorg hosted another night of HWA wrestling action…
Chris The Brain conducted an interview with the man who is now the longest reigning HWA Heavyweight Champion in history, Jake Crist.
Jake talked about the milestone and his opponent for later in the evening, Ala Hussein, before the interview was interrupted by King Vu and his Vu Love Connection.
Vu got in Jake’s face and issued a challenge to the winner of the Jake/Ala match to meet him with the title on the line at HWA Road To Destiny on Saturday Night August 22nd in Norwood.
Two of the best in the HWA competed in the opening match of the evening as HWA American Luchacore Champion “Astonishing” Aaron Williams and “The Most Dangerous Man in the HWA” Jon Moxley fought to a twenty minute time limit draw.
King Vu made his presence felt, this time in an official capacity as he squared off with one half of Utterly Fabulous, Sid Fabulous.
It was obvious that not only did Vu want to beat Sid he wanted to put him out of action the same way he did Ryan Campbell a week earlier. Fortunately for Sid, V-Rad was watching and when Vu continued the punishment after the bell, V-Rad showed up and issued a challenge to the self-proclaimed King.
Vu said he would accept any challenge and just like that an impromptu match began.
V-Rad put up a fight, but he too succumbed to the raw power and the animalistic offense of King Vu, making Vu 2-0 for the night.
Vu’s henchmen, The Love Connection (Matt Taylor and Chad Cruise with Shawn Bond in their corner) were in tag team competition with the team of Hardcore Religion.
The Love Connection used the numbers advantage through out the match, eventually causing Beech to snap and bring out the leather strap he’ll be using on Friday in his match with “The Madness” Chris Hall, to clear the ring and forcing the referee to disqualify the team of Hardcore Religion.
Then in the main event of the evening, HWA Heavyweight Champion Jake Crist defeated Ala Hussein in another successful title defense. But the real story was what happened after the match…
King Vu showed up with Matt Taylor, Chad Cruise and Shawn Bond armed with steel chairs. Vu and Ala then proceeded to destroy Jake Crist inside the ring, with Vu delivering a series of big splashes while Ala held the champion down. Meanwhile, The Love Connection were fending off Aaron Williams, Ron Mathis, V-Rad and Sid Fabulous who were trying their best to get in the ring and help Jake.
The Psycho Circus nearly came early as the carnage continued, finally HWA President Tim Tatum showed up and threatened Vu and The Love Connection with suspensions… but the damage had been done. Jake Crist needed assistance leaving the ring, clutching his ribs and having trouble breathing.
The early diagnosis is Jake has severely bruised ribs and he is not scheduled to compete at Friday’s Psycho Circus or next Wednesday’s A Fight at the Opera event.

HWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JAKE CRIST vs. ALA HUSSEIN
The longest reigning HWA Heavyweight Champion in history, Jake Crist will defend his title against the man who defeated him in a non-title match last week, Ala Hussein.
Hussein is no stranger to gold in the HWA and would love nothing more to be the man to end Jake’s record title reign.
Ala got an assist from King Vu last week, will we see more collusion this week?
V-RAD vs. JT STAHR managed by Brock Guffman
V-Rad will have a chance to take it to his former employer, JT Stahr, this Wednesday!
Life after The Entourage has been good for V-Rad, but nothing would be sweeter for V-Rizzle than delivering some physical payback to Stahr and possibly Brock Guffman who will no doubt be lurking around ringside.
UTTERLY FABULOUS vs. “KING VU” RICHARD PHILLIPS – HANDICAP MATCH
King Vu, who put Ryan Campbell out of action last week, will step into the ring against the team of Utterly Fabulous in handicap action this week.
The Vu that left the ring that night was a Vu we have never seen before and one has to wonder what kind of mind set Vu will show up with this Wednesday.
HWA AMERICAN LUCHACORE CHAMPION AARON WILLIAMS vs. JON MOXLEY – NON TITLE MATCH
Two of the best in the HWA, Aaron Williams and Jon Moxley will go one on one this Wednesday at The Sorg.
Williams’ HWA American Luchacore Title will not be on the line in this match, but both men are risking their physical well being as they head into important matches at Drake Younger’s Psycho Circus this Friday!
PLUS… HARDCORE RELIGION vs. THE LOVE CONNECTION

Angel Dust vs. Tuff Tina
Angel Dust gave a very game effort, but Tuff Tina (with the help of her manager) were to much for Angel Dust to handle. Tuff Tina scored the win.
“Flyin” Ryan Burke vs. Moondog Scrap
Ryan Burke and Moondog had the match of the night, hands down. Burke scored the victory over Moondog. But after the match, Moondog delivered an extra beating to Burke after the bell.
“Mr. Thrillseeker” Johnny Mercury vs. Shamus Finnegan
Mercury got the win over a well rounded Shamus.
The Bouncer vs. Axel
In a match with two of the heavyweights of the night, Axel appeared to have the pin… but Ref. Tom Dunn was out. When he came too, The Bouncer took advantage and scored the victory.
Kevin “Beat’em Up” Bradway vs. Scott Prodigy
In this face-off, Prodigy tried to get the upper hand by “sneaking” weapons into the ring. Ref. Tom Dunn caught Bradway with brass knuckles in his hand, and gave the victory to Prodigy.
Doink The Clown vs. “Simply Sexy” Shawn Blaze
Blaze and his manager came out with alot of tricks, but the Prince Of Pranks had more up his sleeve and got the win over Blaze.
