Just two days before HWA Uprising in Norwood, Wednesday Night June 24th, the HWA will make their weekly stop at The Sorg Opera House (65 S Main St – Middletown, OH) with another action packed night of HWA wrestling action!

Tickets are only $5! And the action begins at 7:30 PM!

Already signed…

“ASTONISHING” AARON WILLIAMS & HARDCORE RELIGION vs. TIM DONST & THE HYBRIDS

Six man tag team action will main event next Wednesday’s show with a preview of two of the big matches coming to Norwood on Friday Night June 26th. The HWA American Luchacore Champion “Astonishing” Aaron Williams will join forces with “Bad Attitude” Brian Beech and “Relentless” Ron Mathis as they square off with The Crusade (Tim Donst and the HWA Tag Team Champions The Hybrids).

Both sides will be looking to gain the all important psychological edge heading into their championship matches on Friday night.

BRANDON TOLLE vs. DANNY O’BRIEN

It is all on the line for Danny O’Brien next week at The Sorg.

If Danny can defeat Brandon Tolle he will be reinstated as an HWA official, but if he loses he is done with the HWA completely.

DAVE CRIST vs. RYAN CAMPBELL

The rookie sensation Ryan Campbell will have his hands full next week when he answers the challenge of one of the best of the best in all of the HWA, Dave Crist.

Dave will definitely put young Ryan Campbell to the test next week.

ALSO SCHEDULED TO APPEAR: HWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JAKE CRIST, “DEJA VU” RICHARD PHILLIPS, V-RAD, “THE GANGSTA OF LOVE” ANDRE HEART, JESSE EMERSON and more!

A red hot crowd enjoyed last night’s edition of HWA’s A Fight at the Opera series at The Sorg Opera House in Middletown.

The night kicked off with tag team action as Hardcore Religion (Brian Beech & Ron Mathis) scored a victory over the team of V-Rad and “The Madness” Chris Hall, after Hall and super agent Brock Guffman left V-Rad to fend for himself.

Kid Fabulous was looking to redeem himself after the humiliation he received at the hands of “The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart last week and he was all business, going right after Heart once the bell sounded. Heart got caught a few times when he took Kid lightly, but in the end Andre was able to use his experience edge to his advantage and defeat Kid.

Next up HWA Heavyweight Champion Jake Crist would compete in a handicap match against Matt Taylor and Chad Cruise. Cruise and Taylor gave the champion everything they had, no doubt looking to win favor with the man who will challenge Jake Crist next week in Norwood, Andre Heart.

But as he has done time and time again, Jake managed to overcome the odds and defeat Taylor and Cruise. However the champ’s night was far from over as Andre Heart hit the ring and with the help of Taylor and Cruise assaulted the HWA Heavyweight Champion and nearly did the unthinkable, as they attempted to force Jake Crist to kiss the ring of “The Gangsta of Love”… but that plan was stopped in a hurry by “Deja Vu” Richard Phillips, who no doubt was still fired up after getting hit in the head with a hammer courtesy of his “best friend” Andre Heart last Saturday in Springdale.

Ala Hussein defeated rookie sensation Ryan Campbell via submission. After the bell Ala re-applied the camel clutch to Ryan, prompting Dave Crist to jump into the ring and save Ryan from further damage.

Ala Hussein was not happy with Dave’s interference and the two started going at it, prompting referee Tyler Raffelwitz to call for the bell and so began an impromptu match.

Ala would not go two for two for the night as Dave Crist had his hand raised in victory. After the match Dave called Ryan Campbell back out to the ring, he noted that Ryan had been getting a raw deal in his matches with guys like Ala Hussein and Andre Heart in recent weeks and then challenged Ryan to a match for next week’s show. Ryan accepted saying it would be an honor.

It was then main event time, as Tim Donst with Danny O’Brien in his corner was set to meet “Deja Vu” Richard Phillips with referee Brandon Tolle in his corner.

Donst, with Danny O’Brien at his side, subjected the fans at The Sorg to a pre-match survey asking them who they liked better Brandon Tolle or Danny O’Brien. In what was a surprise to NO ONE, Tolle had the fans’ support.

Before Donst could get into another one of his long winded speeches, Deja Vu and Brandon Tolle showed up, running Donst and O’Brien out of the ring.

After several minutes of stalling, Donst finally made his way into the ring and the match was officially on.

Vu bounced Donst all over the ring. Donst’s undefeated streak nearly coming to an end on several occasions, but after Joe Kopasz was caught in the cross fire, all hell broke loose.

Danny O’Brien jumped in the ring trying to take over for the fallen Kopasz, but then Brandon Tolle jumped in to stop O’Brien, things would get physical between the two, including Tolle smacking Danny in the face.

Eventually Joe came to and threw the match out, ruling it a no contest. Danny O’Brien then attempted to sneak up behind Vu and waffle him with a folding chair, this only angered “The Double Dutch Bus”. Vu then chased Danny to the back… leaving Tolle in the ring alone with Tim Donst.

Donst went after Tolle locking him up in a submission hold before more officials and security could break it up.

Danny O’Brien then re-emerged “pinning” a defenseless and prone Brandon Tolle before once again being run off by Deja Vu!

DWA SuperstarsArea children and fans of old-school wrestling may want to think about stopping by the Price Hill Recreation Center on Saturday, June 20.

Dynamic Wrestling Alliance, a professional wrestling outfit based out of Northside, is presenting four main wrestling events and a 15-man, over-the-top battle royal at the center, 959 Hawthorne Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the first match is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

Russell Hurley, the president of the wrestling alliance who goes by the name Tony Baritone when he’s in character, said those who attend the event can expect to experience big fun of the old school variety.

“This is not your cable wrestling show,” Hurley said.

“We are more about showcasing the old-school techniques of wrestling. In our league the good guys wear white hats and the bad guys twirl their mustaches.”

“The good guys win with skill and technique, and the bad guys usually win by cheating,” he said.

He said the DWA Galaxy of Stars hope the show in Price Hill will help them with their goal of expanding to more areas of the Tristate.

Members of the organization recently put on a free exhibition at Oyler School, where they also passed out free tickets to the June 20 show to students to get area kids excited about wrestling, Hurley said.

So far, the group has distributed 250 free tickets to area children, and they hope to pass out as many as 400 tickets prior to Saturday’s event, he said.

“We present a clean, family show,” he said. “There’s just not a lot of that around anymore.”

Tickets to the show are $8 for adults, and $6 for center members and children ages 12 and younger.

Hurley said they would like to fill the recreation center with as many people as possible.

“Our show is entertainment with a whole lot of athleticism,” he said.

Fontaine Named #1 Contender – Declines Match

Make no mistake about it, Marion Fontaine is the #1 contender for Dave Cole’s Hybrid Wrestling Championship, however, he has declined two different offers from Hybrid management.

Fontaine has turned down the opportunity to challenge Dave Cole for the Hybrid Wrestling Championship on July 16th at “Damage Control” as well as August 15th at “Pandora’s Box”. Instead Fontaine wants his shot on the biggest event of the year, Theory of Evolution.

There is no official word from Hybrid management regarding Fontaine’s request or how this will affect the cards for “Damage Control” in Sandusky or “Pandora’s Box” in Fremont.

Scheduled for this episode:

PWO Championship: Josh Prohibition vs. Jason Bane
It is a match months in the making, Josh Prohibition’s jealousy and obsession over the PWO Title led to Jason Bane being screwed out of his opportunity to become champion late last year. Bane has been chasing the conniving Prohibition ever since, but Josh has always seemed to find a way to escape the wrath of PWO’s Most Dominant Man. However, now that Bane has rightfully earned his status as #1 Contender, and Prohibition is the reigning champion, Josh has nowhere to run and no way to avoid the inevitable. Prohibition seemed to take issue with Johnny Gargano’s showing of respect toward Super Hentai at the end of last week’s broadcast, another issue we hope to investigate further this week, however Josh will need to have 100% focus on Bane if he hopes to remain PWO Champion. Will Jason Bane realize his destiny or will Prohibition find a way to escape as champion once again?

Mike Tolar vs. Omega Aaron Draven
One week ago, Mike Tolar made a brazen move when he called out former PWO Champion and the Innovator of Aerial Insanity “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross. Tolar blamed the fact he isn’t #1 contender for the PWO Title on his “college injury”, actually just a poorly taped finger or two, and went on to claim Cross isn’t a wrestler like Tolar is, but is just an acrobat and a stuntman. The altercation turned physical, but with Tolar quickly getting out of dodge, leaving his brainwashed cronies Fruith & Georgio to take the bulk of the abuse. Tolar feels a victory over Cross will catapult him into #1 Contendership status, and its hard to argue the reasoning. Tolar has specifically asked for this match with the youngster Draven, who many compare to M-Dogg as a fearless risk-taker and high-flying specialist. Will Tolar prove that his style of wrestling is “superior” or will the gutsy Omega be able to shut up the cocky collegiate champion?

“M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross vs. “DeeeLicious” Jimmy DeMarco
Two men who had unique separate encounters last week will collide this week. Cross’ attempts at calling out Josh Prohibition were met by Mike Tolar instead, berating M-Dogg and his in-ring style and claiming superiority. With rumors strongly suggesting that Prohibition has flat-out refused to sign on for a match with Matt Cross, M-Dogg may have to shift focus to Tolar to prove himself all over again. Meanwhile, Jimmy DeMarco was involved in a highly disturbing act, as he sent our offices footage of him apparently stalking Gregory Iron and Greg’s 11-year-old brother Zach at a local park. DeMarco’s evil plot to avenge what he claims are Greg & Zach stunting his career are going way over the line and crossing into beyond personal territory. Will there be repercussions from Iron this week?

Will Hobo Joe Find Aaron Maguire?
The Dumpster Dweller has been on a search for his “roommate” ever since Maguire convinced Hobo to let him “invest” Hobo’s $25,000 lottery winnings. Aaron suspiciously hasn’t seen since, but the loveable gullible Hobo hasn’t lost a bit of faith yet. Will Hobo’s best friend turn up?

Plus: The Clash, Sex Appeal, Benjamin Boone, and more!

If you don’t get Sports Time Ohio, call your cable or satellite provider and demand it!
