If you missed last night’s Heartland Wrestling Association show at The Sorg you missed the launch of the American Luchacore division…you missed Jesse Emerson get robbed once again by JT Stahr…you missed Jake Crist come out on top in the Champion vs. Champion match and much more!

HWA President Tim Tatum kicked things off last night with several major announcements…

First, Tatum addressed the ongoing drama between suspended referee Danny O’Brien and active referee Brandon Tolle. It was announced that on June 24th the issue would be resolved one way or another… in a wrestling match!

It will be Brandon Tolle vs. Danny O’Brien. If Tolle wins Danny O’Brien is done with the HWA. If O’Brien wins he will be reinstated as an HWA official.

President Tatum then turned his attention to the HWA Cruiserweight Division. In light of the destruction of the HWA Cruiserweight Trophy last week, President Tatum pulled the trigger on a plan he had been mulling over for some time and in place of the HWA Cruiserweight Division the HWA is launching the American Luchacore Division with the first recognized champion being “Astonishing” Aaron Williams.

Three unique rules of the American Luchacore division.

1) All American Luchacore division matches have 30 minute time limits.

2) Instead of the standard 10 count, wrestlers will have a count of 20 when they are on the outside of the ring.

3) And when outside for that 20 count, ANYTHING GOES.

Aaron Williams was then brought out and presented the new American Luchacore title belt. Aaron was gracious in accepting the title but had words for Tim Donst, stating if he could successfully defend the title tonight against Ron Mathis he would put the title on the line in a Submission Match in Norwood on June 26th.

Donst then showed up to compete in the first match of the evening, he entered the ring and dared Williams to get in. Not surprisingly the moment Aaron did, Donst exited the ring.

As Aaron left, Donst’s opponent for the evening, rookie sensation Ryan Campbell made his way to the ring and the first match was on.

Campbell once again proved he was going to be a major player down the road, but Donst’s experience advantage was still too great and Ryan found himself locked in a submission by Donst and forced to tap out.

After the bell Donst continued to apply the hold and did not release it until Aaron Williams showed up and forced him to break it.

Chris The Brain interviewed Brandon Tolle about his upcoming match with Danny O’Brien and about Tolle’s broken thumb, which Tolle attributed to an attack by Danny O’Brien this past weekend.

Tag team action was next as Matt Taylor and the dressing to impress Chad Cruise would take on the uber popular duo of Utterly Fabulous.

Moments into the match “The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart showed up at ringside, apparently continue his scouting mission on Chad Cruise for a spot in The Love Connection. But Andre would prove to be more than just a spectator when he got involved physically, paving the way for Cruise and Taylor to win.

After the match, Andre placed a chair in the middle of the ring and Chad Cruise forced Kid Fabulous to kiss the ring of “The Gangsta of Love”.

In what could turn out to be a preview of the Road To The Gold Tournament this Saturday, Deja Vu defeated “The Madness” Chris Hall and Ala Hussein in a Triple Threat Match.

“Astonishing” Aaron Williams defended the American Luchacore Title for the first time against “Relentless” Ron Mathis.

During the match Williams took a nasty fall to the outside of the ring injuring his hip in the process, but “The Astonishing One” was not about to throw in the towel.

The match would not end the way either Williams or Mathis wanted, as The Crusade stormed the ring forcing a no contest to be declared. Before too much damage was done, “Bad Attitude” Brian Beech showed up and chased off Donst and the Hybrids.

It was more Triple Threat action as “The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart, V-Rad and Donovan Cain of The Hybrids battled.

Heart and Cain formed a partnership early on, double teaming V-Rad, which put the crowd in favor of “Malibu’s Most Hated” much to the dismay of V-Rad’s manager, Brock Guffman.

As the match progressed Andre Heart protested getting hit in the face, he grabbed the mic stated he was too pretty to compete in the match and left. Making it a one on one contest between Cain and V-Rad.

The displeasure on the face of Brock Guffman was more and more evident as V-Rad was feeding off the crowd as he took it to one half of the HWA Tag Team Champions Donovan Cain.

And just when it looked like V-Rad was going to pick up the win, Andre Heart showed up and stole the victory.

A disgusted Brock Guffman left ringside without V-Rad.

Guffman would be back at the side of JT Stahr, who once again managed to get the better of Jesse Emerson this time with a handful of tights.

And in the main event, HWA Heavyweight Champion Jake Crist took on one half of the HWA Tag Team Champions Jason Lyte.

Lyte proved he was more than a tag team wrestler and a tough challenge for Jake, but when he was caught coming off the top rope with a Jake Crist superkick it was all over.
