The Heartland Wrestling Association’s weekly tradition continued last night at The Sorg Opera House in Middletown. Here’s what went down…

Prior to the show suspended referee Danny O’Brien walked through the crowd with a petition to reinstate him as an HWA official.

The opening match featured an intense “Deja Vu” Richard Phillips, with the dog collar and chain he and Jon Moxley will be wearing this Saturday in Peoria, defeating HWA newcomer Dameon Daniels. A fired up Vu had words of warning for Jon Moxley after the match.

“The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart did battle with one half of Utterly Fabulous, Sid Fabulous in the second match of the evening. Kid Fabulous was in Sid’s corner but it was not enough to overcome Andre’s experience edge, as the self-proclaimed king continued his hot streak.

Just a week after recapturing the HWA Cruiserweight Championship “Astonishing” Aaron Williams put the title on the line against the man who last week found himself knocked out of the match to determine a new champion and opening the spot for Williams to take after Lutz was assaulted by Jon Moxley.

Both men showed each other a great deal of respect through out the match and as expected this one was a sportsmanlike contest. Lutz gave Aaron a run for his money, but it was “The Astonishing One” who would come out on top with a successful title defense.

“Relentless” Ron Mathis went head to head with “The Most Dangerous Man in the HWA” Jon Moxley.

Mathis was impressive as he hung in there with Moxley, not allowing the Moxley reputation to psyche him out.

But Moxley would hold back the challenge of Mathis and reign supreme. After the match Deja Vu got in the ring and the two rivals got nose to nose but before Vu could get a piece of him, Moxley exited the ring saving their fight for this Saturday Night in Peoria.

And in the main event, The Irish Airborne would make a rare tag team appearance in the HWA as they were set to challenge Brock Guffman’s combination of JT Stahr and V-Rad.

Prior to the match Guffman announced that JT Stahr refused to wrestle in Middletown this week and while he believe V-Rad could handle both Crist Brothers on his own, HWA officials forced him to find V-Rad a tag team partner and he did…

“The Gangsta of Love” Andre Heart looking for more action, and a pay check from Brock Guffman, made his way back out to the ring proclaiming he’d have V-Rad’s back and did not hold any ill will towards V-Rad after V-Rad pinned Heart last week in the Four Way Elimination Match to crown a new HWA Cruiserweight Champion.

Like almost everything that comes out of Andre’s mouth these days, that proved to be a lie as “The Gangsta of Love” let V-Rad fend for himself more often than not, even going so far as to abandon V-Rad as The Irish Airborne hit the devastating Irish Car Bomb to pick up the main event win.
