We here at Firestorm Pro would like to take this opportunity to thank all you fans who attended “Rise of the Real Underground 2009″ this past Friday Night.
We would like to apologize for the later than announced start of the matches. We were experimenting with a new format incorporating both live professional wrestling action with live music and there were unfortunately a few technical difficulties that resulted in the later start. For the most part, we have gotten very good reviews from the new format and look forward to further innovation on future shows. We had planned on starting the wrestling action just slightly after 8 PM (our normal bell time) and we were not able to make that happen. We started closer to 8:50 and understand that some fans were frustrated with the delay. However the crowd that was in attendance was as they always are very vocal and had a great time from the opening bell to the close of the final match. We pledge to clearly mark belltime in the future so that that this will not be an issue for future shows.
Also for any fans who have questions about the direction of our product or the actions of members of the crowd allow us the opportunity to state our point of view. Professional wrestling is at its core a violent means of entertainment. We strive to bring you the fans a compelling and exciting show from start to finish every single time and we also try to limit the in ring action and content to a certain degree so that fans of all ages can come and enjoy our shows. At worst we feel our in ring product has been PG – 13. There was as all of you know an unfortunate incident on our first show that was admittedly much worse than that, and we have taken steps to avoid any situation since then that could potentially spiral out of control like that. We do employ security guards for all of our events and they do their jobs at crowd control very well. However, we are unable to police the crowd to prohibit them from swearing at wrestlers, as that is their right to express themselves as long as they do not cross the line into endangering themselves, other fans, or the wrestlers and staff. We will make an effort to encourage fans at all future events to be more courteous to their fellow fans so that everyone can have a safe and enjoyable experience.
For those of you who missed out on the great action here are the results.
Paid attendance was 264.
“Big League” Stephie (with Colin To This, Shane Taylor, John McChesney) pinned Cyndi Bobcat following a belt shot from the Firestorm Pro title behind special guest referee April Hunter’s back.
After the match John McChesney got into the ring and began to sing happy birthday to Stephie insulting both the crowd and the promotion until Firestorm Pro Owner JC made his way to the ring accompanied by Raymond Rowe and Patrick Hayes. JC told McChesney that he was tired of him trying to run the show and officially made the challenge for a War Games styled match up pitting Team Firestorm (captained by Rowe and Hayes) against Team Big League (captained by McChesney and Taylor) in June. He then told McChesney to start looking for teammates because he already had wrestlers “lining up” to fight Team Big League.
Shawn Blaze (with Kennie Hendrix) was forced to wear a dress after Angel Dust beat him by DQ. Shawn Blaze had originally won the match by forcing Angel Dust to tape out to a Sharpshooter, he refused to break the hold after the bell and the decision was reversed and he was disqualified. When the ref ordered Blaze to don the dress Hendrix leveled the referee with a brutal lariat and the duo began to walk out unscathed when the Cut Throat Crew emerged swords drawn and forced Shawn Blaze to wear the dress. He was none too pleased and loudly voiced his protests.
Colt Cabana pinned J-Rocc with a roll up following an inadvertant slap from Vicki. J-Rocc enraged by his loss following the great back and forth actions with Cabana took his mounting frustrations out on Vicki by dragging her up the ramp by her hair. J-Rocc then upped his “open bounty” on Aftermath and he did not have to wait long for someone to take up the opportunity to make some money at the expense of someone else’s health…
Kennie Hendrix returned to the ring to challenge the Aftermath and try his had at collecting J-Rocc’s bounty. Unfortunately for the usually dominant Hendrix, pinned him following a 216 spinning kick through the ropes followed up with a flying clothesline from the top rope. This victory marks the second time the Aftermath has been able to defeat an opponent hand picked to take him out by J-Rocc. Will he continue to beat the odds and his opponents or will the Big Daddy’s hatred catch up with Cleveland’s best loved high flyer?
Ryan Burke came to the ring and announced that he was sick of Firestorm Pro trying to masquerade fake cousins and brothers of his to populate a fictitious Burke Nation, he was out to introduce the “Dead Nation” to Firestorm Pro and himself and tag partner Kevin Bradway were set to take the company by storm. Unfortunately the “Cut Throat Crew” Morty Rackem & Rufio Rapier were there to play spoilers and emerged victorious from the tag team 3 way dance over “Dead Nation” and the team of Nickie Valentino & Marcus Knight following a Rapier swanton bomb.
The main event was a vicious back and forth battle that saw all 4 competitors coming close to victory and barely avoiding defeat. The action spilled out of the ring often and neither team was asking for or giving any quarter. In the end Raymond Rowe and Patrick Hayes were victorious over Undisputed Firestorm Pro Heavyweight Champion John McChesney and Shane Taylor following a Death Rowe from Rowe and a Frog Splash by Hayes finished off McChesney for the pinfall.

The WWC Championship is on the line as Cody Hawk will defend the title against one of three men. Will it be former WWC Champion and the man that Hawk won the title from inside a steel cage back at No Escape, Astonishing Aaron Williams? Will it be former WWC Champion and the man Ric Byrne hand picked as the future of the WWC, JT Stahr? Or will it be Matt Taylor, the thorn in the side of the Administration for the past six months? You get to decide.
The two men who don’t get the title shot will be entered in a three way dance with Ganger for a title shot at “TitleClash III” on August 8th.
The WWC Tag Team Championship is on the line as the Penthouse Playboys challenge champions Devlin Anderson & Dave Nevada in one of three matches that you get to vote on. A submission match, a lumberjack match or a street fight? These two teams have been at each other throats for the last three weeks and their brawl at Wrestle4Hope was nothing but chaos.

The Masked Sensation Eclipso and the man who tagged with Shark Boy against DDK & Nikita Allanov…Superstar Shawn Parks. Vote now on who will get the WWC North American Championship match?

WWC – Aberdeen, OH

Since taking office late last year, WWC President Patrick Black has been trying to force WWC into his own image. There have been a few men to stand up against Black and his Administration. Men like Astonishing Aaron Williams, JT Stahr and “Shooting Star” Matt Taylor. Well, now Black has a new plan for the men who have been a thorn in his side…divide and conquer.
Astonishing Aaron Williams will defend his WWC Championship against Cody Hawk in a Steel Cage match as we all know. And with the added stipulation that if any WWC wrestler interferes on Williams’ behalf in the match they’ll not only loose their contracts but Williams will have to forfeit the belt to Hawk. Now if that wasn’t enough, Black has placed all of William’s allies and men who have formed this rebellion in matches with members of “The Administration”.
Lil Hulk Jake Ashworth stood up against The Administration alone in Hillsboro, OH on May 23rd and as a result of his defiance he’ll face the Enforcer of Black’s Policy, Dean “The Dream” Jablonski one on one. Lil Hulk has been known to over come the odds before but he’s never faces odds the size of the 2009 King of Extreme.
“Shooting Star” Matt Taylor has been the one man to time and time again one up The Administration, but Patrick Black has decided to send the man who retired Kahuna to take care of Taylor next. Ganger has been on a roll as of late, ending Kenny Lucas’ career and his next target? Matt Taylor. These two put on a 2008 Match of the Year candidate at the 2008 KOE, now they’ll lock up at No Escape ’09.
Out of nowhere Brian Beech appeared at St. Valentine’s Day Riot back in February to challenge Cody Hawk for a WWC contract. While he didn’t get that contract, thanks to former WWC President Jeremiah L. Young, Beech has found himself the recipient of a one year deal. Black was said to be furious over this and on June 13th he’ll send his Soviet hired gun, Nikita Allanov, to face Beech one on one.
Plus a Six Man Tag Match pitting The Foundation & Will Profit against The Penthouse Playboys & Violent Bob Humperdink for a Tag Title shot at Fate ’09, Eclipso takes on the debuting “Big Guns” Jeff Cannon, the WWC Tag Team Champions Devlin Anderson & Dave Nevada, North American Champion DDK, Eddie Gonzales, and more!
