The temperature was cool outside, but the atmosphere inside the Parkland Theater was red-hot. And this was before Krystyna Faith sang the National Anthem. After that, the tempers ran high and the emotions higher as Damien Daniels came to the ring and started running his mouth. He complained about there being no competition and being looked over for title opportunities.

The show then started as Malice came to the ring with the Army of Darkness’s new manager “The Soviet Socialite” Natasha Rivers. He took on Princeton Travis. Travis took control early until slipping on the ropes in the corner. Malice then took over and after an Oklahoma Stampede Slam, pinned the former Tri-State champ.

Rivers then came back out with another member of the AOD, Ghost Rider, for his match against “Grandpa” Gator Henry. Henry was manhandled for most of the match by the more athletic ‘Rider. But got some help from his fans as one of them sprayed Silly String into the eyes of the Ghost Rider, making him prone to a suplex from Gator. Gator then pinned him for the win. Malice slid into the ring as well as The Regulator, who was on crutches. They triple-teamed Henry until Regulator’s bodyguard surprisingly gave Ghost Rider, then Malice, chokeslams. As Regulator berated his former friend, Big D helped the victor out of the ring and followed him to the locker room.

Up next was the beast from Uganda, Kamala Jr. against “The Canadian Destroyer” Bull Newlun. Minutes and a Bullseye later, Newlun did what The Colonel couldn’t do, he defeated Kamala Jr.

After Intermission, it was a tag team match between Pete & Keith, the team of Bad News taking on Orlando Savage & Jordan Lachey. The win went to the more experienced team as Keith tagged in his brother and slammed Lachey. Pete then hit the swanton bomb and pinned the rookie.

The Semi-Main Event was next and it was a Singapore Cane Match between DWA Tri-State champion The Phantom and “Lightning” Tim Lutz. The winner of the match would be the one to grab the cane off of the pole and hit his opponent with it. This match went back and forth the entire time as each went for the cane at least a half-dozen times. But it came down to the numbers game with Malice and Natasha Rivers continuously diverting the ref’s attention. The ref began to admonish them for the latest attempt as Lutz went for the cane one last time. He was able to retrieve it and smacked Phantom over the head with it, sending the champ to the mat. He dropped the cane and went to get the ref. This gave Phantom time to load his mask and headbutt Tim. Rivers then slipped Phantom a broken cane then the referee turned around. He saw the champion with the broken cane and assuming Phantom used it on Lutz, called for the bell and raised Phantom’s hand in victory to the displeasure of the crowd.

Now it was time for the Main Event. It was a rematch for the DWA Heavyweight championship as the new champ, Beauregard Jefferson Davis defended his new title against the man he won it from, Phoenix. Davis made his way to the ring, followed by The Colonel and an auburn-haired girl, who was being drug behind James. It was later learned that her name was Jess Harley and her family is indebted to James for his paying her mother’s medical bills. This night neither started nor finished good for the members of Double J Enterprises. The Colonel was irate at DWA Prez Tony Baritone when he saw the choice of refs, Skeeter Muldoon.

The match was one for the ages as both competitors threw everything but the kitchen sink at each other. But it all came down to the underhanded tricks of The Colonel. The champ called for his manager to come up to the apron. As he put Phoenix in a full-nelson, James climbed to the apron and demanded the girl to toss him one of her shoes. She tossed him her sandal and as he turned and swung, Davis’ forehead was waiting as Phoenix had spun the champion around. Davis caught the blunt of the blow and was then pinned, giving the title back to Phoenix. As the new champ’s arm was raised, James picked up the shoe and finally hit his target. He and Davis then double-teamed Phoenix using a chair trying to break each leg. Muldoon tried to restrain Davis, getting slugged in the process. Baritone then climbed into the ring and suspended Davis for 60 days. Once outside the ring, Davis and James got into a verbal altercation and Davis soon left thru a side door. James pointed a finger at Jess, blamed her and grabbed her arm dragging her to the back.

Damien Daniels slid into the ring and attacked the new champion until chased from the ring. It was announced that the DWA would return to the Parkland on April 25, 2009.
