Another great night of action at the PARKLAND THEATER in SAYLER PARK, OHIO this past Saturday. A packed house was treated to a Birthday Bash, a Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony and a Lumberjack Strap match for the DWA Hwt Title.

Before the action began, DWA Pres. TONY BARITONE announced that there was cause to celebrate today….The cause, you ask???? It was the 60th Birthday of DWA’s own GATOR HENRY. A thunderous round of applause escorted GATOR to the ring as secretly the family of HENRY was seated ringside to his delight. A cake was presented to the birthday “boy” as Baritone led the crowd in a rousing rendition of HAPPY BIRTHDAY! GATOR thanked the crowd, his family and the DWA for this celebration. But the bash turned sour rather quickly when the REGULATOR’s music blared over the PA. The REGULATOR and his new minion BULL NEWLUN made their way in the ring. After insulting the crowd and HENRY’s family, the REGULATOR stated he just wanted a taste of cake…just then BULL stepped in and smashed the cake into GATORS face. End result was a challenge by HENRY for a match with BULL and that he was gonna have a special manager in his corner.

AS the security men were cleaning the ring, Members of ARMY OF DARKNESS made their way to the ring mouthing off about how they were getting the night off due to an injury sustained by LIGHTNING TIM LUTZ the night before. LUTZ’s partner for the night, PRINCETON TRAVIS made his way to the ring to let AOD know that he would take them on himself if he had to…At that point AOD started attacking PT and out from the locker room area came BAD NEWS to save the day. When the smoke cleared PT asked BAD NEWS to join him in taking on AOD, but was turned down. Travis said he would just have to find a different partner.

The first match of the afternoon, pitted the most hated man in Sayler Park, the REGULATOR, against another newcomer to the DWA, the HIGH FLYIN’ ORLANDO SAVAGE. Both men had the upper hand thru out the match even with BULL NEWLUN watching the back of the REGULATOR. But in the end it was the young SAVAGE being pinned to the mat for the 3-count.

Match #2 was an OVER THE TOP ROPE RULES match. And the master of such rules, the ROYAL BATTLER took on the NIGHTKRAWLER in the unconventional match. In a matter of about 3 minutes, the BATTLER had the KRAWLER in his grasp and tossing him over the top rope for the victory.

At this time, DWA Pres Tony Baritone came out and awarded the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to wrestling legend JONNY THUNDER, who is a longtime friend and fellow competitor of DWA FOUNDER/PROMOTER JOHNNY DIAMOND.

Up next was a match that was in the making for months really. KAMALA, JR was winning on a regular basis in matches involving the men of COL. JONATHAN JAMES. Singles matches, tag team matches, it didn’t matter. But on this cold day in February, it was the COLONELs turn to take a shot at the Ugandan. Boos and jeers filled the packed house as soon as ring announcer DAVE MICHAELS introduced the COL. to the crowd. Confident as he is, the COL came out to the ring in attire that would only suggest he was making fun of his opponent. Wearing a feathered mask, painted face and belly, and leopard print pants and came out to the LION KING music, the COLONEL knew KAMALA, JR wasn’t gonna get the joke. As the match began each competitor had the edge, but then from the locker room came ‘SATURDAY NIGHT FRANCHISE’ DAMIEN DANIELS, taking a seat at ringside as a “spectator”. The Colonel even confused the giant while falling out of the ring and came out the other side to attack. Kamala, Jr got the upper hand again and had JAMES laid out ready for the splash as DANIELS pulled JAMES from harm and then snuck in the ring and attacked KAMALA from behind to draw the DQ from the ref. After the beatdown, the COLONEL proclaimed, MY BUSINESS WITH YOU IS FINISHED!

It was time now for the DWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP match. As challenger, PRINCETON TRAVIS was introduced as the lone challenger, he hesitated for a moment after entering theater…..turned around and moments later came out with his new partner, rookie JORDAN LACHEY. The ARMY OF DARKNESS came ready to rumble as MALICE and PHANTOM started out with the upper hand. But 5 minutes into the match, it looked as though a 4th member of AOD came strolling ringside equipped with Kendo stick in hand. When the dirty tactics were more than he could handle, the 4th AOD member jumped into the ring and stated wielding his kendo stick all over the AOD. The referee had DQ’d the AOD, and after clearing the ring of masked men, the 4th member pulled his mask off, revealing himself as LIGHTNING TIM LUTZ and the crowd just about blew the roof off the theater. TRAVIS and LACHEY were announced as the winners. Afterwards, LUTZ challenged PHANTOM to a KENDO STICK match for the DWA TRI-STATE TITLE on Sat March 28th upon DWAs return to Sayler Park.

Up next it was time for the real Birthday Bash as BULL NEWLUN was introduced to the ring with the REGULATOR in his corner to a sound melody of boos and insults about Canada. His opponent was introduced to a rousing response of cheers as GATOR HENRY came out of the locker room with his special manager, JONNY THUNDER. It was a physical match, regardless of GATOR’s 60yrs, as he matched BULL, move for move. As usual, the REGULATOR got involved but was promptly beat down by the elder, THUNDER, capping it off by a thunderous head butt. In the end, it was the younger BULL, getting the 3-count and again spoiling GATOR’s special night.

Its MAIN EVENT time at the PARKLAND THEATER and the LUMBERJACK STRAP MATCH. BEAUREGARD JEFFERSON DAVIS with the COLONEL in his corner came to the ring with the confidence that they were leaving with the gold. DWA CHAMP, PHOENIX, and all the lumberjacks involved made their way to the ring and as the match started you could hear the snapping of the straps throughout the bldg. Both athletes got there share of belt strapping as they were each thrown out of the ring. In the end it was PHOENIX getting the victory, but DAVIS was the man who left the building with the belt, setting up the ALABAMA STRAP match next Saturday in Laurel, In.
