AIW – Cleveland, OH

Posted on January 6, 2009 by

Absolute Intense Wrestling returns to The West Park Party Center in Cleveland, OH at 7:00 PM on Saturday February 28, 2009 when they present Gauntlet for the Gold IV! Tickets for the show are only $10.00 in advance, or $12.00 at the door. Special VIP Seating is also available for $15.00 in advance or $17.00 at the door.

Already signed for this event…

DREAM MATCH: FAITH IN NOTHING VS. TEAM FIST
After demanding another shot at the AIW Tag Titles at “Nightmare Before X-Mas 2″, Faith In Nothing were granted that shot. But when Chikara offered some talent to AIW, Absolute Owner Chandler Biggins had no choice but to delay that match for a future event and grant AIW fans a true dream match. Team FIST is known for their hard hitting and brutal matches and their array of spectacular double team moves. It’s ironically, the same things that Faith In Nothing are known for. This match is destined to be a classic and one of the most hard hitting affairs in recent AIW memory. Will Faith In Nothing work towards their goal of being AIW Tag Champs? Or will Team Fist, and the reputation to precedes them be too much for Faith In Nothing?

AIW TAG TITLES: THE YOUNG STUDS VS. THE COLONY
The Young Studs made their debut as a team at “Hell On Earth 3″ against Alpha Beta Duke and The Colony. After more than a year, The Young Studs once again go against Chikara’s resident ants. This time, The Studs aren’t just a new team trying to make a name for themselves. The Studs are now The AIW Tag Champs, and have been successful so far in keeping them. The Studs couldn’t beat The Colony in October of 2007, will the outcome be different now? The Colony have been requested many times by AIW Fans and their wishes have been answered. Needless to say, Faith In Nothing will be watching the outcome of this match closely.

GAUNTLET QUALIFICATION MATCH: JOSH PROHIBITION VS. DRAKE YOUNGER
Besides the annual Gauntlet, another annual tradition has been the qualification match that determines who will be entered as number one and who will be entered as number thirty. Obviously the goal is to get 30 when hopefully most of the 29 other wrestlers have been eliminated. Number one means to make it to the end, you will have to face all of the other wrestlers to hopefully win. Both Drake and Josh have seen the world thanks to pro wrestling and both want to add an AIW title to their resume. Josh, however in this case wants to prevent anybody else from winning The Gauntlet to protect the title of his friend, Absolute Champ, SJK. Drake on the other hand has proven his toughness over last year or so in Absolute Intense Wrestling and regardless if it includes wrestling, brawling and ultra-violence, Drake has proven he’s good at every aspect of wrestling. Will Josh or Drake be able to win even if they enter as one?

ABSOLUTE CHAMP STERLING JAMES KEENAN IN THE HOUSE
Even though, he doesn’t have a title defense scheduled, SJK has let us know he will be at Gauntlet. SJK won his Absolute Title at “Gauntlet For The Gold 3″ after entering at number 30. SJK has held the title for over a year, causing two of his challengers to leave wrestling forever. Will SJK choose to wrestle on the show? Or will he be there simply to gloat and celebrate his first year as Absolute Champ?

GRUDGE MATCH: DA LATIN CRIME SYNDICATE VS. THE HOMELESS HANDICAP CONNECTION
A feud that has been brewing for most of 2008 in AIW has flowed over into 2009. Da Latin Crime Syndicate have brutally attacked and beaten The Homeless Handicap Connection multiple times, but Homeless Handicap have held their own and even one-upped Da Latins a few times. But they have never backed down and it’s frustrated the hell of the Da Latins. This will be yet another chapter of their feud, what will it take for The Homeless Handicap Connection to finally get Da Latin Crime Syndicate to leave them alone?

THE AIW DEBUT OF FRIGHTMARE
While many people from Chikara could be possibly be called strange, this guy might the strangest. A guy who is somehow related to Hallowicked, shows traits of both Hallowicked and his tag partner Delirious. A match hasn’t been announced yet for Frightmare, but chances are, he’ll leave a lasting impression on AIW and it’s fans.

THE AIW 4TH ANNUAL 30 MAN GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD:
Already Announced For The 30-Man Gauntlet Match To Become No. 1 Contender for SJK’s Absolute Title:

(In No Order)

Tiny Tim came to the ring to talk about his Lumberjack Match this Saturday against Roger Ruffen whe he was interrupted by inGe, who bet Timmy $1,000 that he could beat him. Tiny Tim won the match and took $1,000 of the Thugs money.

Ryan Stone & Samson vs. Muldoon & Stewie Backlund ended in a No Contest when Backlund & Samson fought to the back. Stone pulled out a ladder. He tried to hit Muldoon with it, but Muldoon turned the tide and used it on Stone instead. Then Muldoon put the ladder on top of Ryan Stone and climbed up to take down the NWF title belt that had been hanging from the ceiling during the show as a reminder about West Harrison’s big ladder match.
