Results – New Years Slamboree – 12/30/08
Posted: December 31, 2008
The DWA packed the historic Parkland Theater in Sayler Park once again as they presented “New Year’s Slamboree”. After the National Anthem was played, The Regulator made his way out to once again run down the theater, the fans and his opponent for the night, theater owner Ed Miller. After boasting about how bad he would hurt him, Regulator told Ed that he should not have brought his kids tonight so they would not have to witness the carnage that would unfold later. As the Regulator left the ring, a fan got in his face, soon receiving a slap from the former Tri-State champ.
The first match was a battle between The NightCrawler and “High Styles” Billy Niles. Niles was the victor after hitting “Crawler with a spinning wheel kick and then using “The Stylizer”.
Next was the “Tuesday Night Franchise” Damien Daniels taking on GhostRider. Daniels reversed an Irish Whip, catching GhostRider in a spinebuster and after ‘Rider kicked out twice, Daniels slid out of the ring and then back in with a steel chair. He then clobbered GhostRider with it, bringing with it a disqualification.
Malice took on and then defeated DWA newcomer “Lightning” Tim Lutz in the third match. Lutz missed a crossbody out of the corner when Malice pulled the referee in between them. After Tim crashed to the mat, Malice hit him with a jackhammer suplex and covered him for the pinfall.
After Intermission, the DWA Tri-State title was on the line as champion Princeton Travis defended the title against The Phantom. The action started fast as Travis surprised his opponent with a schoolboy rollup as the bell sounded and that set the pace for the match. Phantom took control but missed a legdrop off the turnbuckle. He regained control soon after by snap maring the champ from the top rope. The ref was knocked out of the way and Malice made his way to the ring. Phantom lifted Princeton on his shoulders for the electric chair and PT reached for the top rope to counter the move. When he did, Malice hit him with the Singapore cane, leaving him prone for the pin and The Phantom is the new DWA Tri-State champion.
Next was the tag-team grudge match with Evan Da Malice and Beauregard Jefferson Davis taking on the DWA Heavyweight champ Phoenix and Kamala Jr. At the lockup, Davis coerced Kamala into an old-fashioned Greco-Roman knuckle lock that ended with Kamala biting on his fingers. After the third time, Davis dragged him to their opponent’s corner and slapped Phoenix’s hand onto Kamala’s shoulder for the tag to end the feast of his fingers. Phoenix was soon at the mercy of Davis and Da Malice as they took turns wearing down the champ. On two occasions, Phoenix was able to make the tag to his partner, but unfortunately, the referee did not see them, thus not allowing the man from Africa into the ring. Two ducked clothesline and a double clothesline sent both the champ and Davis crashing to the mat as the fans cheered for Phoenix to make the tag. Both made it to their corners for the tag, but as Davis tagged Evan, Colonel Jonathan James tossed Davis a plastic bag filled with a powdery substance. As Davis dumped it into his hand, Kamala turned him around and knocked the powder into the faces of Davis and Da Malice. Phoenix hit “The Flight of the Phoenix” on Davis as Kamala hit Da Malice with a Juvi-Driver and the referee made the three count on both men.
This brings us to the Main Event. Regulator and his Bodyguard went to the ring first only to be confronted by ring announcer Dave Michaels. Michaels read from a fax sent to him by the missing DWA Commissioner Norman Guy that as of December 25th, the license of Regulator’s bodyguard had expired, meaning he had to leave the building. Regulator was livid. The fans soon were in a frenzy as the owner of the theater, Ed “the Parkland Punisher” Miller was announced. The more experienced Regulator took charge of the match early on as expected and stayed in control for most of it, using submission moves and other wear-down holds to tire the theater owner. But Miller was able to get in a few licks of his own, eventually clamping on the ankle lock as time expired, garnering him the win as stipulated. A defeated Regulator walked over to Miller extending his hand. After shaking it, then raising it high to the delight of the fans, Regulator sent a boot into the mid-section of the winner. As “The Parkland Punisher” writhed on the mat, Regulator called to a wrestler who had been waiting in the dark. Shortly after the 2-on-1 beatdown began, the fan that Regulator slapped earlier in the show climbed into the ring, first knocking Regulator out of the way then saving Ed from the bald stranger.
Once everyone was pulled apart, a challenge was made as Regulator introduced Bull Newland to the crowd to be his partner against Ed and the fan on Saturday night, January 31st. Miller shocked the fans and Regulator that he was going to have a special guest manager for the match and left everyone guessing.
Michaels repeated the match for everyone and reminded them that it would take place Saturday January 31st and for nobody to miss it.

WrestleOhio.com Looking for Reporters

WrestleOhio.com Looking for Contributors/Reporters
Hey fans! Just wanted to let everyone know that WrestleOhio.com is finally back up and running at 100%, and we are ready to start the New Year off with a bang! We have a couple of big announcements that we will be making very shortly, announcements that we hope will help the site grow, and take WrestleOhio.com so much farther in the coming year.
In early 2008, we started WrestleOhio to showcase our favorite Ohio wrestling federations, which at the time was only about 8 federations located in Southern Ohio. We very quickly came to the realization that we couldn’t choose just a few federations to showcase…because just about every fed in Ohio is pretty kick-ass in one way or another! So we decided to make WrestleOhio a super-site and cover every wrestling federation in Ohio, and the site quickly grew from covering only 8 federations located in the southern region to covering over 30 federations located all over the state. With that expansion came some new challenges…namely the fact that we can’t be at every show that takes place in the State of Ohio!
So with that being said…we need your help! WrestleOhio is currently looking for Contributors and Reporters that would like to help WrestleOhio.com become the definitive source for pro wrestling news in Ohio. If you’re someone who goes to a lot of different shows and would like to write match results, news on upcoming events, etc….then you are exactly the type person that we are looking for. Just shoot us an e-mail at news@wrestleohio.com and let us know what feds you can cover, and we will go from there!
Please Note: At the current time, this is not a paying position, but you will get full credit for any results, match reviews, upcoming events, etc. that you send in to WrestleOhio.com and you will be listed as a Contributor on the site.

Six-Man Tag Team War!
Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Jason Bane & Gregory Iron vs. Mike Tolar, Josh Prohibition, Jimmy DeMarco
It’s the biggest most star-studded main event in PWO’s short history as six volatile elements come together for one unpredictable encounter! Mike Tolar has spent weeks calling out WWE Hall of Famer Valentine, looking to avenge his loss to the timeless legend back at “Wrestlelution”. Tolar’s bruised ego also led to issues with inspirational Gregory Iron following an Iron victory over Tolar. Meanwhile, Jason Bane has been on a mission of pain, blues, and agony with Josh Prohibition as his main target, ever since Prohibition interjected himself in Bane’s PWO Championship Match last month. Lest we forget about the “Prime Minister of Perversion” Jimmy DeMarco, who’s erratic and unsettling behavior is infamous in PWO history, and as of late Gregory Iron has seemingly been his latest target. Tolar, Prohibition, and DeMarco is an alliance of convenience, while Valentine, Bane, and Iron is an alliance of necessity. What will happen when these combustible elements are in the same ring at the same time for the first time ever?
Conclusion: Greg “The Hammer” Valentine sit-down interview
The legendary Greg Valentine’s open, honest, and candid sit-down interview with Joe Dombrowski concludes this week, as we take you up to present day. Valentine’s views on his Hall of Fame induction, the current status of the wrestling business, The Hammer’s lasting legacy and future and more are covered in the final chapter of the story of Greg Valentine.
“Bloody” Morty Rackem w/Matthew Justice vs. “Omega” Aaron Draven
The team dubbed by fans as “Pirate Justice” has seemingly not been on the same page lately. After two failed attempts at achieving tag team gold, Morty Rackem placed the blame on Matthew Justice. It seems the swashbuckling superstar feels Justice isn’t as aggressive and violent enough as he had expected some months ago. Justice, however, doesn’t see a problem, but this week Rackem attempts to show him how it’s done first-hand as he battles PWO’s resident thrill-seeker and daredevil “Omega” Aaron Draven, who’s been on a roll since his Pro Wrestling Ohio debut. Will Morty Rackem be successful in changing Matthew Justice’s thought process? Will “Omega” Aaron Draven throw caution to the wind and continue his winning ways?
The Savage vs. EJ Georgio
“Megastar” Marion Fontaine has without question associated himself with some very unusual personalities during his time in PWO. This week, the “Friend of the Friendless” promises to debut his latest find. We don’t know much about The Savage, but if the name is any indication, rookie EJ Georgio will have a long night ahead of him this weekend.
Aaron Maguire & Hobo Joe Saga Continues
PWO’s loveable cult hero Hobo Joe has had a rough time teaching former high-class agent Aaron Maguire how to survive on the streets, as Maguire sinks further toward rock bottom. This week, can Hobo successfully teach Maguire the art of street performing to earn his hand-outs?
