Results – BPW: Halloween Horrors – 10/19/08
Posted on November 21, 2008 by V.L. Stricklett
Thanks to the support of our loyal fans, BPW’s annual Halloween Horrors was a huge success!
Eddie Gonzales survived the 22-man Weapons Battle Royal, outlasting nearly the entire BPW roster and becoming the new #1 contender to the BPW Heavyweight title. Also competing were Ala Hussein, Scary Garry, Will Jones, Todd Mullins, Darrell Hazel, Donny Redd, Tony X, Jake Simmons, Brian Beech, Big Jim Hutchinson, Punk Rock Rebellion, Tom Bellman, Ganger, Johnny Lawnjob, Dave Crist, Cody Hawk, Jerrod West, Sgt. Ledbetter and Dustin Thomas.
But even after the win, Ed’s mouth just kept writing checks that even his girlfriend couldn’t cash. After Ed and Heather Owens disrespected BPW Champ Shark Boy™ one too many times, Heather ended up on the receiving end of a chummer as Ed ran for the dressing room.
Shark Boy™ successfully defended the BPW Heavyweight title against Jake Crist. Fortunately Shark didn’t also have to defend against Cody Hawk and Dave Crist this time, because BPW co-owner Dean Baldwin had barred them from ringside. With Hawk and Dave out of the way, Jake was forced to use his considerable in-ring skills… but it just wasn’t enough on this night, and Shark Boy™ extended his title reign to nearly a full year and counting.
Nick Dinsmore’s chance at Cody Hawk was nearly declared a “no contest,” after Dave Crist interfered and then was called on it in the ring by an irate Jerrod West. As West and Crist brawled, referee Joe Kopasz appeared to be ready to throw out the match entirely. But Commissioner Shawn Stidham appeared, warning that it wasn’t going to be so easy for Hawk to get out of this contest. Instead, Stidham restarted the match as a tag team bout with Dinsmore and West facing Hawk and Dave Crist. Still, just as Dinsmore seemed ready to score a win, Jake Crist interfered and forced the referee to disqualify his team. Dinsmore suffered a knee injury in the attack which kept him out of the Weapons Battle Royal, so no doubt he’ll be ready to get even the next time we see him in BPW!
In the Texas Tornado Tag Team title match, Todd Mullins & Donny Redd nearly pulled off a victory over champs Dustin Thomas & Tom Bellman, the Twin Peaks. Redd had Bellman pinned for at least a 3-count, but referee John Ruben was busy with Thomas’ submission attempt on Mullins and didn’t see the fall. Eventually Mullins had to tap, allowing the champs to retain the titles. Though this was an agonizing blow to the former champions, they’ve vowed to keep at it until the BPW tag team gold is around their waists again.
Big Darrell Hazel became the latest victim of Ed Gonzales’ and Heather Owens’ cheating ways, with Owens playing a big role in Gonzales’ win over Hazel. Even after the dishonest victory, Ed added insult to injury by attacking Hazel after the bell. Fortunately Jake Simmons was nearby to help out before Gonzales could inflict too much more damage.
BPW fans saw a new tag team win their first match, as Ganger and Tony X defeated Sgt. Ledbetter and Jake Simmons. As usual Ganger added his own style to the pinfall on Simmons, using his feet on the ropes for leverage. Nevertheless this team has now made the BPW ratings as the #3 tag team, so it remains to be seen if they climb the tag team ladder in 2009.
New BPW Ratings
Following Halloween Horrors, BPW Officials have announced surprising new rankings for the BPW roster. Most shockingly, Jerrod West has bumped Jake Crist from the coveted #1 contender spot. In fact Jake moves down to #3 thanks to Dustin Thomas, who earned himself a #2 ranking. Nick Dinsmore also joined the ratings for the first time, as did the tag team of Ganger and Tony X.

Results – MEWL: Wrestling Hunger – 11/15/08
Posted on November 21, 2008 by V.L. Stricklett
Here are the results from Main Event World League’s Wrestling Hunger ’08 show, held on November 15, 2008 at the Alliance Armory in Alliance, Ohio.
Lones Oaks loses the Hardcore Championship to MCW Original, Brain Damage
Jessicka Havok is unable to defend her Women’s Championship due to her opponent not showing up for a 2nd straight show. The Buckaroo came out to teach her a lesson and was quickly sent back with a loss.
Supa Lucha vs. Krazy (by FAR the best match of the night) was absolutely off the hook. Krazy wins the title by hitting his Krazy Krunch from the top rope!
Mr. Insanity faced off against Christian Vaughn since Shasta wasn’t cleared to wrestle yet. Vaughn actually got booed on his entrance but after he lost to Mr. Insanity, the crowd applauded him for a great effort.
Diaz regains his North American Championship from Johnny Gun. Diaz was setting up for an illegal move (the Shattered Dreams) when Dick Jeremy came out and told Diaz he wasn’t going to allow him to cheat anymore. The distraction gave Johnny Gun the chance to hit his big move on Diaz. As he went for the elbow drop, Dick grabbed his leg just long enough to allow Diaz to get to his feet and knock Gun on his “golden globes” on the top turnbuckle. Both men were standing on the middle rope when Diaz hit his Stigmata and got the pinfall!
The TLC Match was all over the place and had lots of fast paced and brutal action. They had some great comedy spots as well. In the end, Jazin Blaze makes it to the top of the ladder and gets the Tag Belts to crown themselves new Tag Team Champions!
The new (as he named himself) Lord Chancellor Even Stevens did a surprisingly good job on booking matches. Just when we thought Diaz was up to his old tricks by hiring an MCW Original, we find out that Even Stevens is actually bitter with Diaz, MCW, Lones Oaks, and MEWL. Now he plans on cleaning up the company and all of the corruption. Only time will tell!

Onyx vs J.T. Hogg – Loser Leaves Town – 12/4
Posted on November 21, 2008 by Sara
We would like to announce that on our December 4th event in Chillicothe, Ohio, a rematch between heavyweight champion, The black Superman – Onyx and The Man Beast, J.T. Hogg, has been signed. In their first encounter Onyx was able to lift the 350 pounder and Power slam him for a pin. According to Hogg’s manager, Dr. David Lanning, Onyx was lucky when he scored the move and the pin.
Onyx, stating he has already defeated Hogg, has agreed to a rematch for the title only on one condition. The match be fought under Loser Leaves Town rules. This means the loser will be out of the IWA for a minimum of one year. “This guy is a real animal and has hurt several wrestlers with his maniacal ways. I agreed to this rematch only so I could rid the IWA of that monster and ensure he does no more unjust damage to the fine roster of the IWA.” Onyx said.
“My man will defeat that paper champion this time and bring the belt home to me. He was damn lucky the last time. He caught Hogg off balance and was able to lift him for that Power Slam of his. It will not happen again.” Stated Lanning.
“Either way this match goes one great talent will be leaving the IWA. Its to bad it had to go down like this. Both men are great draws. I hate to lose either from the roster. But both athletes want the match. So what could I do?” claimed IWA Commissioner, Chris Serious.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at either The Backstage or Acme Comics in Chillicothe for just $8. Tickets are $10 at the door. As always children under ten are FREE! So bring the hole family out to this great event. 7:30 bell time.
More matches to be announced.

PWO Annouces More Matches For 11/21/08 Show
Posted on November 19, 2008 by Sara
We are just hours away from Pro Wrestling Ohio’s return to the Brook Park Armory, THIS Friday night! The Brook Park Armory is located at 6225 Engle Road (OH-291) in Brook Park Ohio, 44142, in Brook Park, Ohio. Doors are set to open at 7 pm with a 7:30 pm belltime. Tickets are just $10 in advance, $12 the day of the show, and $15 for front row ringside! Advanced tickets are ON SALE NOW at www.pwowrestling.com and will also be available at the door the day of the show. This is your chance to not only see hot PWO action, but to also have your faces, signs, and banners seen across the country on Sports Time Ohio!
Officials are putting the final touches on what is sure to be a blockbuster card, as PWO ends the 2008 calendar year in style. Already signed to take place:
- WWE Hall of Famer Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and self-proclaimed hometown hero “Superstar” Mike Tolar have signed to meet one another in a six-man tag team war this Friday night! Tolar & Valentine have been assigned the task of picking their OWN tag team partners for this match. Who will these two natural athletes select? The only way to find out is to be in Brook Park this Friday night.
- The PWO Championship WILL be defended as PWO Champion “M-Dogg 20″ Matt Cross defends against the infectious luchador Virus. Virus has proven himself time and again in PWO, most notably in two unforgettable ladder matches. Now, with Virus seemingly entering the singles ranks, the PWO roster needs to take notice. Virus could make the biggest impact possible in just a matter of hours.
- Josh Prohibition is being forced by PWO officials to go one-on-one with the 6’8″ 300+ pound “Most Dominant Man in PWO” Jason Bane. Prohibition’s jealousy over not being in the PWO Title picture inadvertently cost Bane the gold last month. When last we saw Bane, he claimed next time he and Josh are in the same building, Josh is a “dead man”. The next time they will be in the same building just to happens to be THIS Friday, and the match is now official.
- Johnny Gargano will be in attendance this Friday night, and we are expected to receive an update and official diagnosis on Johnny’s recent serious back injury. Johnny had a doctor’s appointment earlier this week and this Friday in Brook Park we should have more information regarding Johnny’s future.
- “The Prime Minister of Perversion” DeeeLicious Jimmy DeMarco makes his PWO return, and is sure to be as creepy and unpredictable as ever. The one-time cross-dresser hopes to erase the memories of his infamous Kiss My Butt match this past summer, and has signed on to meet one-on-one PWO’s most inspirational star, “One Armed and Dangerous” Gregory Iron.
- Vincent Nothing, one half of PWO’s Tag Team Champions will see action, as he takes on one-half of The Clash, Ernie Ballz. The Clash have made it known they are refocusing themselves and targeting the PWO Tag Team Title. Will The Clash send a message or will Vincent Nothing represent his tag team with Jake Crist well?
- The team of Pirate Justice, Matthew Justice and “Bloody” Morty Rackem, will both see singles action this Friday night in Brook Park. The swashbuckling superstar takes on the high-flying promising newcomer Omega Aaron Draven, while Matthew Jusitce has signed to meet Shiima Xion. Shiima makes his PWO return, and promises a surprise and a shocking change. What does Shiima have in store? Will Pirate Justice’s tag success translate to singles glory as well?
- “Amazing” N8 Mattson has announced he is issuing another open challenge to anyone in the state of Ohio that feels he can beat him. Mattson, a long-time Michigan elitist, feels his homestate is much better than anything in the Buckeye State. With Michigan vs. Ohio currently in season, will anyone step up to shut up Amazing N8?
- Marion Fontaine’s oddball relationship with Noj the Wild Samoan continues as they team up for the very first time, doing battle with cocky upstarts Corey Winters & Eric Ryan. Can Fontaine’s motto of being the “friend of the friendless” continue to breed success of will Corey Winters avenge his loss from one month ago?
All this PLUS: Hobo Joe, Benjamin Boone, Bobby Beverly, Michael “The Bomber” Façade, and more!
Tickets are just $10 in advance, $12 the day of the show, and $15 for front row ringside! Doors open at 7:00 with a 7:30 belltime! Advanced tickets are ON SALE NOW at www.pwowrestling.com and will also be available at the door the day of the show. It’s three solid hours of the best wrestling action in the region today.
